@Thundercrash Gotcha.
Ok. There WILL be villains that I'll be throwing for us to face. I'll also be including other various elements of some classic hero type stories. Shadowy government agencies. Nosy reporters. Etc. Also this is all supposed to culminate in a specific story arc. Not sure how long it'll take us to get there or if we will but I'm excited to find out.
The RP is basically going to follow the general story of the books and I've got at least 15 different novels planned out. I'll be introducing various characters throughout but I will be doing my very best not to take over and control the game.
Also what's going to happen when you guys get powers it's it's not going to happen right away. An event happens involving a ship as mentioned. Then later tour characters will fall ill, like worst flu ever kinda ill. When they wake up they'll feel fine and be changed. But when and how your individual powers manifest is any bodies guess. And that's where you will be challenged creatively. Let's try and make things as realistic as possible.
And just for fun I'm going to throw in a little excerpt here of a fight between two characters that I'm planning in a future book in the series.

We paused for a second and Richard glared at me across the rubble strewn street.
"So what now, Carlos," he asked, panting slightly. "We two immortals locked in an epic battle until judgement day and the trumpets sound?"
I coughed and spat some blood to the side. "We're not immortal, Richard... wait a second..." I stopped and blinked, my brain catching up to the words. "Did you just quote Pirates of the Carribean at me?"
He shrugged. "Well... yeah"
I nodded slowly. "Okay, just wanted to make sure I had that right." I turned and leaned down, grabbing a volkswagen bug by the front fender with one hand. With a series of pushes and pulls on the vehicles gravitational orientation I lifted the car up, around, and sent it hurtling, with roughly the speed of a major league fast-ball, directly at my best 'friend'.
