Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)
Things you need to know about me?
I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.
I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Huh, interesting...you look more like a...
Depth perception is kind of a problem for me. Why don’t you save me the trouble and tell me how you look?
How old are you anyway?
"Thirty-nine. You learn to grow old here in Gravity Falls."
Why don’t you lay your past on me? What are you even doing here?
"A life story? Seriously? I'm not even that old.
Well, it isn't really all that interesting. You see, I was born and raised here in Gravity Falls. Ma and pa were born and raised here too. No one really leaves Gravity Falls once you start to live here. Not much change either. We're born here, grow up here and die here. There are people who come, a few go, but that's usually what happens in our little sleepy town. Nothing much happens here.
As for me? Well, I went through school here and, just like my parents and every single ancestor I have, I'm gonna stay here. I've gone through a lot of jobs because I mostly do whatever needs to be done here in Gravity Falls. We don't have a lot of people so if someone needs help, I'm usually the one they ring up. And hey, I don't mind not having a permanent job as long as I get some money out of it you know?
I've encountered a couple of weird things. Sometimes, there's floating furniture. Sometimes, there's some weird creature stalking people in the woods. Or sometimes it's a broken toaster. It's all part of living here in Gravity Falls. There are a lot of rumors and legends that surround our town. I don't really care whether it's true or not; if they pose a problem, I take care of them. If they don't, I leave them alone. But I'm pretty sure the kids out there are curious about them and maybe sometimes I keep an eye on the kids so they don't get hurt. The kids don't seem to really understand that some things are best left to the unknown.
The less people who know about it, the better. I've thought of leaving Gravity Falls behind but this is home. Besides, if I don't stay here, who knows what kind of bull- I mean, what kind of trouble people will get into. You never know what happens in Gravity Falls."
Anything else you wanna share? Go for it!
"I've seen a lot of weird stuff in Gravity Falls and I got a couple of trinkets. Apparently, this ring I got from this weird woman in the woods helps me power through stuff. Pretty darn useful if you ask me."
"Oh, a wife? Yeah, I have one. She's a teacher over at our highschool. Her name is Emma and we've been married for ten years, together for twenty! She's a sweet and amazing person. You would love her when you meet her too. Don't got any kids though."
"There's been talk of Illuminati being thrown around. Don't know. This feels a lot more older than that."
"I used to work as a lumberjack and used to go hunting before. They help a lot."
"Coffee and my wife are the only things that make me feel alive. I'm kidding, I'm kidding."
"My wife and I go hiking, sometimes even camping, in the woods. We keep seeing a lot of things. Get to meet things too. I'd be careful if I were you."
"I know some of the weaknesses of those... monsters? Things? Unidentifiable objects? Anyway, I know what makes them tick after years of tangling with them. They say don't mess with the unknown but that's too late for me and my wife I guess."
"My wife likes tinkering a lot. Sometimes, she uses brings the gadgets when we enter the woods. I'd be lying if I said they weren't useful on occassion."
Changed a couple of things here and there but here ya go!

"Oh, so it's like... a gun." Hiroko commented as Ipharia finished her explanation of what an arquebus was. So they already have what sounded like a rifle here. She wasn't knowledgeable in firearms either but it was something familiar at least. Ipharia mentioned that it shot out metal or magic. That's interesting. It would be nice to get her hands on one. Maybe it would be better than the bow and arrow that she was currently using.
They weren't swimming in money now but maybe if they were summoned heroes of this world, surely, they would be inclined to give them some money to better equip themselves. "Seems like a great weapon for us who aren't so... magically inclined." It probably wouldn't be ideal in certain situations that required stealth.
The idea that they may have to spend a few hours under the tutelage of Honami and Ipharia did amuse her a bit. From the videos she'd seen, horse riding wasn't as simple as they make it seem in movies. Still, it would be to their advantage if they could naturally do it thanks to the blessing of whatever deity had brought them here. The sooner they find out why they were summoned to this world, the sooner they'd be able to figure out how to get back.
If it was possible.
"Makes me think I've taken our own modes of transportation for granted now that it isn't available." Hiroko admitted. She placed her hands inside her pockets, fiddling with the lighter. She wondered if this world would ever advance technologically as theirs did. After all, with the availability of magic, there were certain machines that could just be replaced with magic. But considering they weren't teleporting all over the place, she guessed machinery for transportation might not be as far fetched as she originally thought.
The technology here isn't that advanced but it was showing a lot of promise at least. "An arquebus?" She repeated curiously, the word unfamiliar to her.
The further away they got from the mainland, the more at ease Howard felt about the decision to accept the invite. It was only by a stroke of luck that he had won it. He thought he could use a break from it all - he halted accepting commissions and projects and set off to this two week break. Maybe then, he could find the muse that eluded him for the past months where each stroke felt heavy. It had greatly bothered him since he was crunching a lot of his projects and when things don't go to his plan, he got frustrated. One of his friends suggested a vacation and he was the main reason why he had accepted this.
Howard leaned back onto his chair, the gentle rocking of the ferry making him feel a little queasy. He couldn't wait to get back on land. They say that it was calmer on the seas but Howard wanted to argue against that. He had planned to make a few sketches here and there, just idle ones to keep himself occupied, but found himself putting down the tablet multiple times after his stomach twisted in a way that definitely wasn't good. Was it seasickness or was it because he was using his tablet? He wasn't sure and he didn't want to stay long enough for that hypothesis to be tested.
He made his way outside to get a breath of fresh air, his tablet safely stowed inside his bag. He folded his arms against the railing of the ferry, watching as the island came closer and he breathed out a sigh of relief. He found himself wondering what it was like in Starkhaven. Howard hadn't been to many places but he hasn't heard much of Starkhaven. As far as he could search, it was just some town on an island. It was perfect to just relax, he supposed. Not that many people around and lacked the suffocating air of the city - a place that always seemed to be on the move no matter the time of day.
Howard was pulled back from his thoughts when an old man started to speak. He wasn't talking to him but he curiously listened in. Fueled by curiosity about the town and this old man's familiarity of it, he let out a question. "So you've been here before?" The answer was pretty obvious so he continued on. "Any tips about the places?" He wanted to at least get down a list of places he could visit so he could make a plan for the two week vacation. Might as well see every sight there was to the town right?
At least they had the option of earning a few more money along the way if they can get a few quests that wouldn't be too taxing. And maybe they'd get some experience and discover more skills that could help them in the long run. If they really were people who were supposed to fight this Black King, then they should at least have something to show for it. And their equipment didn't look like they were up to par to any kind of fighting - she wondered what kind of armors they can don for the trip.
The mention of transportation made her perk up but just as easily deflated. Ipharia's guess was correct. Unfortunately, Hiroko hasn't even touched a horse in her entire life, much less ride one. Had there been a motorcycle, maybe Hiroko could have worked with that but technology wasn't exactly all that advanced in this world. It was a downright shame too. She idly wondered how long their phones could last before ultimately dying on them, not that it was too important here but it still could be used as a flashlight.
Kaito brought up a good point. They had managed to master the goblin language by just hearing it so maybe horse riding would be the same. "Well, we won't know until we try." She gave them a small grin. "I have to admit, I've always wanted to ride a horse before. Nothing like getting sent to another world to give you mundane experiences huh?" She said lightly in jest.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
INTROVERTED Ever since he was young, Howard preferred having more alone time than spending too much time with other people. While he can hold conversations with other people and has enough experience in conversing with others, Howard gets tired of people quickly. As he grew older, he had managed to get through each day with common interactions sprinkled in but there are times where he would just fall silent and feel the burning need to go back to his room.
AMBITIOUS There's no doubt that Howard has goals and would do almost anything to attain said goals. This has caused quite a lot of conflict in his past. He would sacrifice his own health for the sake of attaining them. Once he's set his eyes on something, Howard won't stop until he can get it. There are no cutting corners for him, however, and he pushes himself to work harder for it.
EFFICIENT Howard is a smart lad, his grades speak for himself, and he usually has plans for most of the things he does. Whether this is because he wants to avoid speaking with people or because he needs it to get a good grade, he often thinks hard about his next move. He's no stranger to spontaneity and he changes his plans accordingly to the wrench that has been thrown into them. He makes the most out of his days and he plans it down to the hour.
Physical Description
Often found with an unruly appearance unless he makes an effort, Howard doesn't make much of an effort in his outward appearance if he isn't meeting up with other people. His wardrobe consists of button up shirts or sweaters with jeans to match up with it. He stands at the smaller side with a height of 5'5 and doesn't like calling out attention to it and it's likely one of his bigger insecurities. He doesn't hold himself with any sort of confidence; with a terrible posture in both stsanding and sitting, he's often slouched and seems even smaller than he already is. Despite this, Howard does have a rather fit body - regularly keeping up with his own regiment in the gym. Most of his muscles are in his legs, having been part of the track team for a good part of his school life.
Howard has a couple of old scars littering his legs and arms, mostly from falls and tumbles that he had taken during his track years. One noticeable scar, however, is a long gash on his left leg that he had gotten due to a freak accident that robbed him of his chance to see anything more than the local competitions.
Character Conceptualization
Born a second son and a first generation immigrant, Howard had to learn everything fast alongside with his older brother and younger sister. At a young age, they handled important documents and conversations - translating for their parents and for the other party. Howard had little plans outside of helping around the house to make sure everything was under control. The moment his older brother could work, he became scarce in their house and taking long hours to help support their family. He and his sister worked together to help around the house, though a lot of those expectations fell upon his little sister. This left him with a bit more time than he had expected.
Howard had taken great interest in track during middle school and joined the team. His school wasn't anything big or had a particularly good team but Howard found himself enjoying it a lot. For the first time, he had found something he was passionate about. His parents found no need to be worried over it as long as his grades were good. He had made a couple of friends in the team but he didn't have the time to hang out with them enough. He wasn't sure if that was just an excuse or if it was the truth, once he looked back on it. After all, sometimes, his parents were lenient enough to let the siblings go out together - so surely, they could make an exception with at least one hangout. But Howard refrained from doing so, only keeping his interactions with friends at the school or at training.
In highschool, he continued track and had even gotten into a couple of competitions. He had won some, lost others. He still has the medals to prove it, though those were overshadowed by his siblings' academic achievements. Nevertheless, Howard knew what he wanted to do - if he managed to garner enough fame, get the highest records, he could eventually get to run at a more national scale. When he wasn't studying or helping in the house, he was running. And finally, Howard got what he wanted. He was going to compete in a national competition for students. Two days before the competition, Howard took a rather hard fall, leaving his leg scarred and broken and him in the hospital.
For a few months, Howard couldn't run. His leg was too bothersome and he couldn't even travel too far. He found more time to himself, once again, and he picked up another hobby to busy himself - drawing. He wasn't particularly skilled at it but he put his everything into it. Perhaps it was out of pity or it was because his brother saw budding talent, he had gifted Howard a drawing tablet. He had quickly improved and by the time he could run again, Howard found himself enjoying art a lot more. He didn't come back to the team but took the occasional run as a regular hobby. He began to take commissions and earn money for himself and his family.
When he had expressed his plans to take an art course, his parents immediately shot it down. After all, there was no future in it. Howard, however, was adamant to take it and tensions ran high in his own household. Against his parents' wishes, he took the exam in UCLA and managed to get in with a scholarship. Howard took his savings and moved out of his own house and moved to a relatively cheap and shabby apartment, but he didn't mind. He took on commissions as well as a part-time job to help him through his years in school. After graduation, he never got into contact with his family and he continued as a freelance artist as well as a few small-time jobs here and there.
Other Information
Howard can usually be seen wearing his drawing glove and he typically carries his tablet around no matter where he goes, believing that there's always a chance to gain inspiration no matter the place. While Howard keeps his social circle relatively small, he does have a social media presence in art circles.
