To start things off I propose that we condense our world into three islands (bodies above water, not a typical desert or tropical island). This way we have seperate locations for biomes, cultures and so forth.

Secondly, as a race of sentient fungi was suggested as a possible addition to the world, most likely found in swamps or underground, I will be the first to throw some ideas out there.

They are all linked together somehow, through connection under ground or chemical communication through the air. They most likely infest the bodies of creatures they can use, with motor functions and brain capacity enough to transport them from A to B. The fungi race could also be split into sub groups, perhaps some fungi can actually move and interact with other sentient life forms, while another has the sole purpose of consuming food to produce energy.

What if the fungi was one organism? That could act as a primordial God of decay/rebirth/fecundity for future cultures. Maybe the sub groups of fungus could be off shoot gods like in greek myth or something? Not sure I'm getting my point across as I'm on mobile. Maybe write up something when I get home tonight or brainstorm some ideas on an arthropod race.
Good point.

Firstly though, I beg of you all, a name for our land?

Some random names off the top of my head using an old trick whereby I start with 'A' and make up nonsense/obscure/altered words until I arrive at a name I like:

Aleph / Alcabrere / Arghest
Bapha / Barghest /
Caena / Caetha / Corvis / Coringar etc.
Darrow / Dithe
Ephome / Epolia / Etolia / Elgarde
Fraema / Fecund (keeping with a mushroom theme) /
Gilgaron / Gehest / Gargath / Gilmoran
Hel / Heroth / Hapbft (old lovecraft trick to cram consanants together) /
Illusoria
J .....
K...
L.. Lemuria / Lothelon / Laedra /
Mundus
N
Olephia / Orleph
Praeda / Pelma /
Q
Roond /
S
Tarneth / Tarnath
UVWXYZ
All I've got time for right now.

I agree. How about mushrooms?

Fungi in general?
So if we are thinking about our project area as a regional equivalent to that of one on earth, we are thinking about Southern Europe or North America? Some mountain ranges and yet flat lands etc.

Correct? @BurningDaisies

Multiple biomes will give a greater pallet to work with I think. As for feel and tone I've had mythic fantasy on the mind but I'm cool with whatever. Maybe if we figure out what sorts of stories we wish to tell that will give us a jumping off point.
Polybius reporting in.
Looks like you've got premise, but no plot. Who are the characters? What roles can the potential (we) expect to play? Like your style, Erewhon, is a clever title.
Im EST but for sure interested in this. Check out the link in my sig to see some examples of my stuff. @MonstrousMan
"I think it's your turn brother. Let's see what you have created. Let's see what matter of creatures you made. "

Ashkar nodded thoughtfully at the creations of the other gods. Fine work. he thought "My...?...Turn...Won..der...ful..." huffed the god of wind, growing louder with each syllable. The breeze gracing the chambers stopped for a moment, then gathered dust at Ashkars feet. The dust form four tiny cycles and swirled intensely, stopping just as suddenly as it had began. Four infants sat wide eyed before the court of gods. Ashkar chuckled with his 12 mouths, which startled the babes, who looked around curiously.

"Ah...young ones for my race of Garuda. In time they will grow strong; I give them the gifts of intelligence, wit, humor, joy, anger-all of the emotions of my winds. They will be friends of nature, and one day farm the earth. In return they will sing chants and prayers, to calm the rage of storms." Ashkar bent down and scooped the Garuda infants up with his massive translucent hands. The children seemed to float for a moment, before the illusion was dispelled. "I am finished, brethren," said Ashkar eyeing the creations in his hand.
@Polybius If needed be and the other players want to...we can add more God interactions ;)

Thats cool man! I like what we have so far, hope this RP takes off.
@LegionPothIX@Eklispe The Gods themselves don't really matter ,

Ah. Oh man, this might not be the RP for me then. I assumed this was a god-style RP. Well, I'll see how it goes!
