Orion had walked by the rec room. He had heard the Piano playing, yet he dare not intrude upon something so emotional, at-least not till the end. He sat beside the observation window, just out of sight. He wanted to hear strings vibrate, he wanted the music absorbed into his body... He liked beautiful pianists. He had only known one through the entirity of living, a close-friend who escaped with Orion on Delta, yet she refused to sign up for Framewerk. She didn't really understand Orion's reasons for becoming a killing machine, yet she understood that he had to do it, no matter what. She had probably sent him some gifts, she was his only true friend in this universe so far, and if he got the chance he'd meet her again. The point was, she played piano like no other. In-fact she taught Orion... yet Orion hadn't seen someone as experienced as, well whoever was playing the Piano at this time.
Orion waited till it was over. He could slightly hear crying... yet the only reason he heard the piano, was it was apparently hooked up to a speaker system. Orion sat there, he really didn't want to intrude, yet he felt like whoever was playing this music. It must've meant something to them, emotionally. It was a rather good piece actually, he had heard of said piece. Yet he'd never heard the entire thing. Musically talented humans are a treat, especially since different planets have different cultures. Orion though, he fell in love with Piano, aswell as the Ocarina. Both he played fluently, he urged to play the piano, especially to cheer them up. It was something he was good at, the caring for others. Strange that he piloted a killing machine though.
After a while, Orion walked in as the girl sat silent, on the side of the piano. He didn't have a darn clue on what to say to her. He wasn't even sure if he should've said something, but he did. Orion always did something, if someone was unhappy. His job was made harder after the Cruxi, practically everyone was 'unhappy' . So many complications. Orion lent over and spoke in his same old soothing tone, it always showed his personality straight up, kind and caring with a little bit of geekyness. Before Orion could even say a word, he clumsily tripped on a wire, that was on the ground.
"Uh ar- WOAAAEAH!" Orion hit the ground with a small thump!
"Ouch!" Was the first word out of his mouth afterwards.
Alyssa's entire body jerked upwards into a standing position as she heard the boy's voice, and the following thud, not recognizing him at all. She soon realized that her face was still wet with tears, and quickly turned away to wipe her face dry with her shirt before turning back to the boy who lay there on the ground. Alyssa's face grew red as her heart raced; she had just been so totally and completely startled by this boy that came out of nowhere, and was embarrassed by the thought of him seeing her play...and more importantly, cry.
As she trembled from the fright and had her hands held close to her chest, she gingerly took a step forward and slightly reached out with her hand.
"U-Uhm...a-are y-you...okay?" Alyssa managed to say, choking on the words as she spoke.
God...that scared the hell out of me...
Orion scrambled to his feet, cheeks red... He hated falling.
"Gaah, what was that" he thought. He then looked at the girl that was playing the piano. He figured out that it was something emotionally attached to her, in one way or another. It seems like it was sadness, her eyes left behind the red rash, after you cry. It's in-mistakeable, yet Orion decided to not mention that.
"Ahh... By that look on your face, I'm assuming your not okay. Looks like you need cheering up." By now, Orion's accent was showing through. According to history, his home planet was colonized only by one country from earth. So everyone from Delta , sounded like what was known as 'Australians' it was a rather rare accent, yet planet Delta was full of em. To even know what an 'Australian Accent' was is something else. She had already been on the side of the piano, so he decided to sit down, "I pilot the Zeus Framewerk." He smiled, as his rather calm demeanor emanated from his body. He decided that maybe he wasn't the only one with problems, that maybe if he focused on helping others... he would forget about his own... deal with them later.
"Is it alright if I play a song? Don't worry, it'll be a classic." he smiled, as his face lit up. He was smiling and just acting normal, being a nice person wasn't hard... being yourself is literally the first step. Making someone else comfortable is the next. Orion's glasses were lucky not to break. He cleaned the red rims on the outside, and washed the lens. He scratched his face, as the two metal plates where itchy. They were detachable, they were used to help Orion control electricty out of combat. It was quite nifty, more of a gimmick to show people. Occasionally, if he scratched his skin you'd see a slight spark, nothing flashy... he waited for an answer, he really wanted to cheer her up. Without directly mentioning something about anyone's past, he said
"For what it's worth, you're probably the best pianist I've heard in a while. I understand, piano mus- no, music in general can be quite emotional." He smiled, still waiting for an answer.
"So, wanna hear this song?" His smile changed to a smirk.
Alyssa found herself unable to speak for awhile, but the boy didn't seem to mind as he continued to talk. This...boy was strange to her, especially the accent that he had...but perhaps that was just because Alyssa was just so embarrassed? Her cheeks proceeded to get redder as the boy not only commented about cheering her up, but also complemented her piano skills.
"U-Uh...th-thank y-you..." Alyssa sputtered, glancing down at her feet.
"M-my F-Framewerk hasn't b-been transferred here yet...b-but it's an artillery-based unit..." She continued, gradually calming down.
"And that's fine by m-me if you want to play...go ahead, it's...not like it's m-mine..."
Paris chuckled,
"Well, you're that good... You could practically claim it. I only know three songs. Here's my favourite" Paris smiled as he found the starting note. "If you know the song, or just know how to play along... play along as you may" Paris started softly,
He played this song as if he had played it every day of his life. It was a rather happier song, it was cheerful. Paris could apparently sing adequately well, considering he was singing the lyrics alongside it. He hit every note with grace and precision, landing each chord without a mistake. He didn't consider himself as a good musician, but he was definitely playing efficiently, even if he was rather modest. He smiled as he played the song, and hoped that the girl with no name as of yet was being cheered up. This song always made him rather cheerful, so as he played through he would be in a better mood every second, he would be happier. After he had ended his extravaganza, he looked at the girl. Orion was a funny bloke sometimes, his accent didn't always show through sometimes he sounded normal, but usually not.
As Alyssa listened to him play, she did start to feel better...gradually, and took a deep wreath to try and relax. He wasn't bad...sounded like he made a few slight errors here and there, but Alyssa couldn't really judge the song as she barely knew it, but had indeed heard it somewhere before. When he finished, she clapped her hands together as she thought people should commonly do to show their respect when someone else finishes a performance. Though even once she stopped clapping, she didn't really feel the need to say any thing and just smiled kindly at him to show her thanks.
"I hope that was rather, enticing." He looked around after he was finished, as if he was looking or thinking...
"Well, I presume we will be seeing each other more often." He looked at her, as if she was like everyone else on this ship, as they should be looked upon... As there own age, as a teenager, not a bloody soldier.
"Don't be afraid to talk to me. I wont bite" Paris was by now at the door, that entered the piano room. Paris did a goofy little bow, if he's being goofy it means he doesn't mind you.
"Well, miss... I will see you around. I shall be off!" His real self was actually showing for once, he was rather extravagant, collected thoughts... Calm, really calm... as if the world can wait for him. Paris winked as he was about to walk out the door, hopefully he cheered the girl up... He was only leaving because, she might've wanted to be alone, at least he was walking off as if he needed to go do something, which he didn't... He just didn't want to embarrass Alyssa for more than a bit. But he believed she needed it. He had a feeling, he'd be seeing her more often, especially off field.
"See you later then...and...thanks for cheering me up. You're not too bad." Spoke Alyssa to Orion when he stated he was going to leave, throwing in a little friendly taunt at the end while she waved farewell. Then, with Orion gone, Alyssa plopped back down onto the bench with a huff.
That was really embarrassing... She thought, looking aimlessly around the room before her eyes settled on a number of the many other instruments available. She got up and walked over to them, casually examining one after the other...picking some of them up to get a better look, and to try and imagine herself using it. She considered the violin, the saxophone, the flute, and a few others before looking around the room to see a terminal. And having decided on trying out the violin, she made her way over to the terminal, and after reading the selections on the menu, she began interacting with it.
Several minutes passed by, with her simply exploring the interface, until she finally stepped back. In her exploration Alyssa had found that the speaker system, which fed into the recreational room, was turned on...so she made sure to turn it off before she switched over to a tutorial program. She stayed there for about another hour before she decided to wrap it up and go see if they were serving anything good at the mess hall. Only then did she learn about what happened between Koehler and Yeshua, and it only made her more afraid of what might happen in actual combat with the Cruxi.
Will that sort of thing happen again? What if it happened out there, on the battlefield? What would happen to them? What would happen to me? What would happen to Elora? She worried, then paused.
No, no...it'll be fine, Koehler will pull through just fine...and after that fight...they'll kick Yeshua out...yeah...it'll be fine, it won't happen again... Alyssa thought in an attempt to comfort herself as she went to her room and sat on the bed, completely unaware that, in truth, Yeshua wasn't going anywhere...he was there to stay, by whatever means deemed necessary...
