Current My roleplay is all tabletop these days, and the part of the guild I used to hang out in doesn't exist anymore. To my friends from this site, I will think of you, and maybe I'll see you again someday.

To my friends from chat: I guess I'll see you around, since I'm still not using discord.

I don't actively RP on the site these days, but I might be convinced to come back if there's a cool fantasy or sci-fi group RP that can capture my interest. Catch me on Second Life, Wildstar, or Chat.

My life has gotten really chaotic. I'll be back to RPing when I can.

I need a good generic fantasy RP, but I can't find one.

Did only humans survive, as far as sapient races go, or are there other intelligent playable races?

Not sure how I missed the occupation bit :P

And yeah, I'm not going to have her swearing much, but like if an arm gets blown off her MEC suit or something she'll start cussing like a sailor, since I don't think it would be believable for someone to keep their exclamations G-rated at that point.

Also, if you're familiar with military culture, swear words are used almost constantly, and Jack has been a soldier for years by this point.

You're tentative on the character? Please, by all means let me know what part you're cautious about, I'll pay attention to keep it in line.
Man I haven't seen this since like highschool, this is OLD.

Name: Jacqueline Hammer (Usually just goes by Jack, will begrudgingly tolerate Jackie)

Age: 28

Appearance: Before conversion

Equipment: Her MEC suit, (obviously not her in that, just a suit ref) which has really seen better days and currently has a lot of improvised repairs. It's also one of the earlier models, if she had one of the more modern ones she would in theory be much stronger. She also has an old chaingun that's been slightly modified for her suit to be able to hold, though she doesn't use it too much. Since it relies on ballistics, many modern shields simply deflect it, though the rapid fire means it can be good for overworking cheaper shields and causing them to burn out.

And for contrast, a modern MEC suit

Her suit offers numerous other tools and devices, one of the more notable ones being a suite of features that allows her to seal the suit and survive in a vacuum. Due to the air scrubbers, she would die of thirst or hunger before running out of air. Jump jets also allow her to move around in zero gravity, as well as jump up and down from high platforms in regular gravity.

Former/Current Occupation: Formerly a soldier in one of the major Earth united continental armies, now still a soldier though the hierarchy has mostly been shattered.

Personality: Jacqueline is a loud individual who completely lacks a poker face. She doesn't have the best education, but has learned some basic math and engineering just as a necessity due to her modified body. She's generally fairly friendly, and unfortunately for those around her she doesn't have much sense of personal space.

Biography: Jacqueline joined a military company nearly as soon as she came of age. She proved to be a capable warrior, and when the aliens began their assault on Earth-controlled planets, Jack was on the front lines against them. As such, it was only a matter of time until she was wounded. She was actually wounded quite badly, the result of an alien bomb that took out most of her unit. She was fortunate enough to be able to hold on until help arrived, pulling her broken body off the battlefield.

She at this point essentially had two options: one, accept her future as a crippled war veteran missing most of her limbs, or two, volunteer for the MEC program, have the remainder of her ruined limbs removed, and be outfitted with cybernetic interfaces to allow her to use one of the mighty MEC suits produced to combat the aliens. She chose the second option.

A capable soldier even before her conversion, her augmentations have left her capable of fairly easily punching through stone walls. She's a decent shot with a gun, as stabilizers in her suit generally assist her aim, but her real advantage in that regard is that she can carry weapons simply too large for anyone else, which while helpful in a firefight is also fantastic as an intimidation technique. Her mass comes with some tradeoffs though, namely that she's an easy target in a firefight and sometimes has a hard time fitting through doors. She also weighs as much as a mid-sized car.

Now though, with Earth gone, she's one of the few surviving MEC troopers, and it's unlikely that any new ones will be produced in the foreseeable future. The way she sees it though, that just means that she has the legacy of her kind on her shoulders, and she's not off-duty until the remnants of Humanity are safe. She might not know how to chart a course through the stars or snipe an enemy from a mile away, but she'll do everything her massive metal form allows to protect those around her and lash out at the aliens that stole Earth from Humanity.

Character I have in mind is more just a kinda shock trooper / heavy lifter around the ship. Also, is putting &%$@! an acceptable way to represent swearing? There's some points, especially in a more serious RP, where it wouldn't make sense for a character NOT to cuss.

I should have a CS up in short order.
First up, I kinda hate anime. It's not just happy, it's just too fucking melodramatic in everything it does—this includes when they decide to be bleak and grim, they go stupidly bleak and grim and it just loses me.

I'd prefer something more like Star Trek, where there's unfathomable dangers out there in space, death can happen, but there nonetheless still manages to be a subtly optimistic note underneath the setting.

I've dealt with enough RPers who join darker looking roleplays just to have really moody, brooding characters, and I hate those. They aren't interesting to play with, they aren't interesting to play around, and just... ugh.

Yeah, if this DOES end up being something really dark and bleak, I won't be sticking around for it. I mean yes, the setting for us here is fairly grim, but it's also exciting: we're out on the outer edge of the galaxy, we probably don't even have charts that far out, so while the stakes are high we're also pathfinders in unexplored territory. There are horrible things we could encounter, but there is also all the beauty and wonder of the cosmos before us.

Focusing only on the grim stuff is just as fucking annoying as only focusing on the happy cheerful stuff.
That is one gnarly triple-post, son.

Also, I'd rather not have most of us get killed off. I'd rather go for a Voyager kinda vibe, and just be encountering all sorts of crazy space awesomeness. Character I have in mind would do real well in a fight so I don't really mind combat, but space horror? Bleugh.
I have a character that would be a good fit for this.
