Current My roleplay is all tabletop these days, and the part of the guild I used to hang out in doesn't exist anymore. To my friends from this site, I will think of you, and maybe I'll see you again someday.

To my friends from chat: I guess I'll see you around, since I'm still not using discord.

I don't actively RP on the site these days, but I might be convinced to come back if there's a cool fantasy or sci-fi group RP that can capture my interest. Catch me on Second Life, Wildstar, or Chat.

My life has gotten really chaotic. I'll be back to RPing when I can.

I need a good generic fantasy RP, but I can't find one.

I have a character I would love to import into this RP from the previous RPs I've done with her where she's part of a slightly more morally-grey version of dimension-jumping police. How human do the characters need to be, and are twisted versions of canon characters from existing media acceptable?
I'm a fan of patchwork cities built in the midst of the ancient ruins of a former civilization. Sure, the inhabited parts of the city are safe, but the other 2/3rds or more of the ruins? Filled with potential dangers and treasure! Some of the areas may have been picked over, but so far nobody has managed to reach any of those floating towers that have been hanging above the city, listing slightly, since it was discovered...
I'd like to see more turn-based strategy games, along the lines of X-COM, but possibly with a fantasy bent. Would love to see that approach taken with a reboot of the old Warlords strategy games, especially since basic Warlords was a turn-based strategy game anyway, adding chessboard style movement would just make it better.
As someone who actually works in the game development industry, I find it funny how people think these ideas haven't been made yet. The real challenge with making these things is getting and organizing a team to do it, as well as pay the people enough to get the job done. Big companies don't like investing in risky out-of-nowhere ideas, and the indy companies that are willing to try the weird ideas don't have the funds to do it right most of the time. Also, it's interesting to see how much people underestimate the work involved in some of the ideas they suggest.
This sounds a TON like an RP I tried to run a few times, but the one I did had the player characters as the absolute D-listers of the multiverse cops, powerful individuals who were just unreliable or unskilled enough that they didn't want them to be a liability to a better team but were too useful to fire. Depending on what stuff is allowed / what kinda game this looks like, I may join.
Well I suck at running forum RPs, but if one of you guys feels up to running a fantasy RP and recycling our (kinda cool!) characters from this, I'd be up for joining.
Kinda actually sounds like the reverse of this idea would be fun, fantasy characters with magic and such in a tech-based sci-fi world :P "A sword? What are you gonna do with a sw-"*SHNK* "Teleport behind you and run you through with it, of course!"
I might be co-GMing an RP actually, so I may have to withdraw from this. I'll keep you posted, but I have a limited amount of time for RP and if I help with that I won't be able to participate here :s
I'm here, but I think the OP evaporated.
Idea that I had was basically a telekinetic who's powers caused a quite strong atomic wind. So basically, she's POTENTIALLY incredibly powerful, but if she exerts too much force, it starts tearing at her flesh as though she was standing in a sandstorm. The more force she uses, the harder it rips at her. So in theory, she could perform biblical feats with this ability, but it would strip her to her bones and kill her in moments, so she has an extremely good reason to hold back. She'd probably have some bandages on at all times, and carry more with her, just as a result of periodically over-exerting her power in day-to-day tasks. Lifting things up to what she could roughly lift via muscle power would cause at most superficial wounds, like sandpaper dragged over the skin, but as things got heavier than a normal person could lift it would quickly escalate to "falling on barnacles", "getting hit by a shotgun blast in slow motion", and eventually "standing in front of an industrial sand blaster". Wouldn't fit too well if you were going for a more light-hearted tone, so if that's the case I'll just dodge out. I'd picture her as probably being one of the older members of this group, possibly a survivor of the early days of these abilities beginning to show. Might even have a position like a teacher's aid or something, I kinda picture her in her early twenties.
