Current My roleplay is all tabletop these days, and the part of the guild I used to hang out in doesn't exist anymore. To my friends from this site, I will think of you, and maybe I'll see you again someday.

To my friends from chat: I guess I'll see you around, since I'm still not using discord.

I don't actively RP on the site these days, but I might be convinced to come back if there's a cool fantasy or sci-fi group RP that can capture my interest. Catch me on Second Life, Wildstar, or Chat.

My life has gotten really chaotic. I'll be back to RPing when I can.

I need a good generic fantasy RP, but I can't find one.

At this point, we're just waiting on an OOC thread going up, pretty sure we're ready to start.
The current idea is that the city itself is built into the ruins, and only some of the ruins (most of the city area, minus the fringes / underground) are safe. The ruins used to be a sprawling port city, the surrounding environment outside the city is jungle but the wilderness has been slowly growing over the ruins so a lot of the outer ruins are pretty overgrown. The civilization that originally built the ruins was extremely powerful, and some of their ancient spells are still in effect, doing such things as holding towers or large chunks of land floating above the city. Some of these have been reached and inhabited, usually with rope ladders and bridges, others haven't been able to be reached / entered yet and are still total mysteries.
I might make an older character who actually relies on his skills and experience in battle rather than strength or speed.
Old characters are fucking awesome when played right.
Hmm... could be that your character met mine in the ruins, and much like dealing with a wild animal, managed to earn a bit of her trust with an offering of food. Could also be that they've known each other longer than the other people in the RP, and he has a much easier time understanding her broken speech and animalistic body language.
Hmm... I may tie my character's backstory to yours, depending on what direction you go with it when you flesh it out. The huge character and the tiny character makes an iconic team, and it's an interesting twist on things for the muscle to also be the brains :P
So looks like we got plenty of interest up. When are we gonna get an OOC / a character profile layout? I'm ready to get going :D
The Darksun setting from D&D had magic be powered by life. Powerful spells could turn nearby plant life to ash, and large scale mage wars are how Athas became basically a desert planet. The few who still use magic are either Preservers or Defilers, Preservers are very careful to not take too much power and make sure they don't kill things by taking too much, while Defilers don't care and are happy to ruin land to fuel their magic.
Found a picture that fits my character idea pretty well, just replace the metal with wood other than the spikes:
Someone should play some big strong dude, like a half-ogre or something, they could throw me like a spear at people xD
Skreawk (Skree-ock), for me. Halfling who was left at the orphanage at a very young age, wound up wandering while unsupervised into the ruins. They thought she would have been killed out there, but a few decades later she comes back, barely able to even speak the normal language, and completely at home in the jungles and ruins, having grown up with the animals and monsters of the place. Good at surviving and scurrying around, terrifying in combat for her size but inherently limited in her offensive abilities because she's so small. In theory, a large, strong allied character could actually throw her into / onto enemies. Once she gets into a grapple with someone and her bone-and-wood weapons come out, she very much has the upper hand. It's hard to dislodge a small, strong person who's clinging to you like an angry monkey and is making a point to stab any bit of exposed flesh :P
If there's still room, contemplating some sort of imp character. Probably wouldn't have as high of goals as some of the other ideas I've seen listed here so far though.
That could be a total blast, what with me having a tribal savage halfling :P
