The pace of the battle went as you'd expect. Ellaria was nimble enough on her feet to dodge everything the creature could throw at her, and she managed to sneak in an axe to the back here and a sword stab there, but her attacks were really light and just seem to momentarily stun the creature instead of do permanent damage. The creature was slowing down but the creature's persistence to kill and remain alive was just a real drag. So they were at a stand-still and now Ellaria considered this fight to be rather dull. Ellaria had long finished her song, tributed to the drunken sailors who she had just stolen from, so now there was nothing in it for her.

Despite the length of the battle and the amount of the elf's movements, she was still just about as fresh as she was first entering the battle. So she ducked under the creature's wild swing and trusted her sword up into the creature's chin and yanked it out, splitting the head open. The creature cried and groaned as it fell into a molten pile of slag. It was done, at least so Ellaria thought. As the bard turned away and sheathed her sword, the molten pile of slag bubbled and separated. The two entities slid across the deck of the ship and rejoined the cold puddles of the other fallen creatures. They appeared to breath new life into them as both puddles came to life and bubbled up, forming a crude figure resembling the original creature only these two were slightly larger.

Appearing very annoyed, Ellaria turned to face both of them, prepared to fight them both, even though she wouldn't like it one bit. That's when a bolt slammed against one of the creature's shoulders, which drew the attention of all attendants on the deck. Others were joining the fray as a dwarf landed on the deck of the ship. Ellaria relaxed and breathed out a sigh of relief. Someone else can handle them and that was fine with her. With the two demons focused on the other fighters, Ellaria strode off towards the other deck, allowing the Templar woman to pass, "You wanted all of them, well here's two more!" Ellaria gave the Templar a pat on the back and quickly slipped behind the Templar and ran down to the bow of the ship, looking for that staff she wanted.
Have some ideas and hopefully they will live up to expectation.

Come to think of it I was pissed.

Well I'm glad they included it. It is a very human thing and even though it was a story trope, it was nice to see some tension that didn't involve fighting.

Luckily I was raised better than that. I see its faults but just accept them, like a significant other's quirks and faultsAlthough this does get me thinking of the reason I left RWBYForums. After Blake and Weiss fought in Black and White, everyone so blindly and quickly turned their anger on Weiss. Seemed I was the only person on the site who saw the confrontation from both sides.

Sure that's great trait to have when looking at the animation. They are limited but I just absolutely hope they shine where they can, like story-telling.

Yea I tend to avoid communities that aren't comfortable with criticism. RT's subreddit is like that. RWBY's subreddit is like that. For some reason, criticism is a bad thing to a lot of fans.

Now I do like Weiss. Her character proves to be the most interesting to me. She seems to be the most fleshed out with a distrust of Faunas(?), seemingly bitter feelings towards her folks and people in general, and Kara of all people voices her. Kara isn't bad (at least from what I remember) but again, I'm looking forward to her improvement.

I just enjoy the show too much to notice many, if any, faults. I noticed small things, like when Ruby had two Crescent Roses.

And that's fine, I suppose. The problem with that is that many of RWBY's fans blindly love it and praise it. Every bit of it. Well... you don't really get any constructive criticism if everyone is saying "Best thing since sliced bread!". A lot of RT and AH fans are like that.

*sigh* If I got a quarter for every time someone complained about RWBY's animation...

Well it isn't just the animation. There are various items that RWBY struggles with. In fact there is a lot that RWBY struggles with. Now I can understand animation because RoosterTeeth does not have a lot of assests that some other companies have. They don't have loads of artists drawing and rendering out backgrounds, characters, etc. Everything is generated in a program by what, two people?. Which is fine and can sometimes have its own charm. However, that means RWBY has to shine in other categories like writing, voice acting, or setting. Unfortunately it doesn't.

Voice acting is off, but that's because there aren't really too many employees that have experience. That will change in time so it will improve. The writing could be better. Bits of dialogue seem unnatural and this drags down the voice acting as well. Also some of the forced anime and character clichés aren't just... enjoyable. The setting and environment is okay. It isn't too unique and some of it is bland, especially considering that any non-essential personal are just black, unidentifiable figures.

Now that is just some criticism I'll throw at it. I would absolutely love to see them improve upon it and make it into something great. They don't have to wow me with animation but wow me (and a lot of other critics) with the writing and story elements. Good, interesting, and natural writing that lends itself to a unique story experience and then have the voice actors really feel comfortable and sell their roles and lines well. Then it would be something worth writing home about.
Interest and I'll get to this as soon as I get free.
Poor Neymar man.
