Music, soft and low, played in her ears as she woke up. After a moment she realized that she was freezing, and that her bed was as cold as ice. She sat up and pulled her knees to her chest to try to warm up. Her wings unfurled and wrapped around her holding in her body heat. As she sat there she tried to remember who she was, where she was, or anything, but each time she tried all she saw was a blinding white storm.
I guess my name will be Storm she thought as she opened up her wings to take a look around the room.
Everything was covered in at least an inch of ice and snow, all surfaces had been scared by strong winds, and there were corpses along the walls. They had been slashed by the winds and frozen. One leaned against her bed with its hand resting on the edge near a device that appeared to be playing the music she was hearing.
She picked up the music player and, knowing that she wouldn't be able to walk on the ice, she started flapping her wings slowly rising into the air. She flew over to the door and tried opening it only to find that it was frozen shut.
That doctor must have wanted this music playing for a reason. she thought as she searched through the music on the device. After a moment she found
tropical music. As she listened a warm breeze picked up in the room. She tried to focus and strengthen the wind on the door, and succeeded in thawing it enough to open it. She let the die back down to a gentle breeze around her as she flew out into the hall. There was a bit of ice in front of the door, but once she was past it she landed on her feet, and almost oner hair which was now long enough to drag on the ground a little if she walked. As she put weight an her legs she almost collapsed, but she caught herself by leaning against the wall a little. She was able to take a few steps before falling, and deciding that she was going to have to fly.
I need to find a wheelchair. I can't fly forever. she thought as she flew through the halls.
After a few minutes she heard some voices and flew towards them Hoping they were friendly. The warm breeze preceded her down the hall as she approached the others.
