As a compromise I will open up the pokedex to 251.

Well this changes everything! Sort of

If you're concerned about keeping it limited, you can probably just limit is to whatever's canonically found in Kanto way back in gen 2 plus or minus a few of your choosing. Throw in the occasional Johto native when we're battling an NPC, stuff like that. I mean if I remember correctly like Slugma and Skarmory were originally only found in Kanto? I get what you're trying to do so those are just some suggestions and reminders. Pokemon distribution is bendy so you have quite a few options

I apologize if this is less than coherent. I typed this on my phone while at the hardware store
Personally I wouldn't mind the Rattata option but I wouldn't really take advantage of it so it might not be worth it. I don't like the idea of the type change for the Gastly line though. I always liked their poison typing even if it did give em a weakness to Psychic.

I'm juggling a few character ideas but I should be decided soon. For our older characters, I assume we can give them a little more independence? As in they went by themselves, worked to save their starting money in a part time job, etc?
Awesome. Thanks for being cool about it. Yeah I'm still interested. Age was the only problem. I'll try and get a CS up today
Unfortunately I'm thinking the same thing. I know across canon it's always ten year olds, so it makes sense. But I'm used to older characters. Sorry, I'm out too.
This looks fun. Been looking for a good Pokemon RP, and am old fashioned straightforward journey plot would be refreshing.
Oh man. This looks so good. I honestly don't know if I have the time but I love Sanderson. I'll try and see what I can get together. You're set on Era 2? (That's not a request to change or anything. I prefer Era2 but I just want to be sure of the options)
Look out. We got another swimmer!
Edit: Wrong section :/
@Prints Avoid

One of these is considered a credible field, the other is considered to be run by a bunch of crackpot snake oil salesmen.

Don't know who you've been talking to. They're both credible and both have their applications. A psychologist is often a PhD. There's gonna be variation in both. I'd sooner work with a psychologist who will actually listen and help me work through something than a psychiatrist who will just write me up a prescription for expensive meds and send me on my way. Ideally you'd have a good psychiatrist and a good psychologist.

On topic though...
My CS is coming along. Hope to have something rough done tonight. I'll post it for some commentary and then fix up whatever's necessary.
Anyone know what the difference between a psychiatrist & psychologist is?

Psychiatrist gives you drugs. Psychologist talks to you.
That's a gross oversimplification but honestly he could probably benefit from both.
