It partially serves as a prequel to @Morose's Abandoned Hope. Something very wrong is happening in Silver Falls, it's up to you to work out what, and stop it. Goal Of RP: Find out who killed Lucy Taylor, why they did it, and stop them. Age Requirements: Minimal age for characters is 15.
Premise
On June 20th, 2016, the world almost came to an end with the beginning of the biblical apocalypse. The events which took place in Altsoba county surrounding this, tainted not only Altsoba, but the area around it as well. Though, twenty-six years before, Altsoba and the nearby county of Silver Falls were picturesque, quaint and perfect paradises in rural Washington. No evil dwelled there, and it was a wonder that one day such a horrid event would take place, focused on a place which was so peaceful.
But every small town has its secrets.
Almost exactly twenty-six years before the Altosba Massacre, the small town of Silver Falls, ten miles south of Altsoba awoke to tragedy. Hidden away in Silver Falls' Forest Park, the body of the homecoming queen - Lucy Taylor, was found, crucified on an upside-down cross. The grief and mystery spread through the small town like wildfire, with one thing being clear in everyone's mind - this was not a normal murder.
With the arrival of Donald Baker, an FBI agent sent to investigate the murder, more curious questions began to pop up - a single letter was found sewn into Lucy's tongue, 'P', and reports of strange sightings around town after dark began to spread, tales of monsters, ghosts. Quickly the town was taken over by paranoia, but most of the residents still held a strong desire to see the truth of the matter, who killed Lucy Taylor?
With only a few clues to go on, and the increasing paranoia spreading through the small town, a meeting is called at the town's community centre on June 14, it would be made clear what was known so far, and what was to take place. Dark things are on the move in Silver Falls, and unless stopped - may threaten far more than just this little rural community.

-P & W Diner: A small restaurant toward the center of town. The Diner is a usual stopping point for those passing through and visiting Silver Falls, as well as a common lunch stop and meeting point for locals. The diner is open from 9AM to 9PM. -Silver Falls' Sheriff Department: The local Sheriff's department is the home to Silver Falls' rather small police force. A small compound, there is not a great deal to the station aside from a conference room, offices, and four jail cells. Most of Silver Falls' actual inmates are sent further North, to Altsoba county, for imprisonment. -Silver Falls' Public Library: By all accounts, the library is one of the larger buildings in Silver Falls' business district. Commonly visited by students from Pacific North University, the library is particularly famous for it's collections of religious texts and mythical poems.
-Ben's: A dart's bar in Silver Falls', Ben's is frequented by most of the residents of Silver Falls, especially workers at the Lumber Mill. Live music is often played in the bar, and a drunken fist-fight is common on friday nights. - -

Characters can live in Sunshine Apartments, in a house on either Graze, August or Lumber streets. Pacific North University is just forty minutes away from Silver Falls, so some college students do tend to move into the residential area or rent an apartment. Beyond this, temporary accommodations can be found at the Lake Knowledge Hotel.
The Lore
This RP follows the lore outlined in the guide to the abandoned hope universe. Anything outside of this thread as new additions will be outlined here. All necromantic knowledge is immensely uncommon considering that this RP takes place before the Altosba massacre, and so any characters with explicit necromantic knowledge must be discussed with the GM beforehand.

Harry couldn't help it as his cheeks turned a light shade of red feeling Aziza's lips against them. He chuckled softly, shaking off the feeling as she leaned back and moved to stand. He looked back up towards her as she spoke again, letting out another chuckle as she teased him, before moving to stand himself, adjusting his jacket momentarily as he looked over at her. "Well, I wouldn't be very gentlemanly if I kept making you thank me, would I?" He grinned, watching her closely as he listened to her speak again, hands clasped once more behind his back.
Shrugging his shoulders, he shook his head. "Of course not, I'd be happy to escort you back." He paused momentarily as she suggested he may wish to change his clothing, realizing he had not actually been home since he left for the club the night before. "Come to think of it, I should probably grab some things myself, though I'm afraid my place isn't exactly on the way to the hotel..." He considered possibly getting a car to take him by later, he didn't want to be dragging Aziza around the city. Besides, he figured that it probably wasn't entirely appropriate for him to bring her to his place anyway. The 'good conduct' of lords and ladies like the ones he had been hanging around recently seemed to be rubbing off, it almost made him shudder. He did pause momentarily as he heard her words trail off, raising an eyebrow as he let his curiosity get the better of him. "Drahl?"
William Drake

Smirking as he looked down at Vera, feeling her lightly press against him, he had to stifle a groan as he felt her heel slam down on his toe. He appreciated the thickness of his boots for cushioning the blow somewhat, but she had hit hard, and a numb pain was starting to rise up in his toe as he watched her go, luckily able to feign ignorance to the pain as he kept a smile on his face, eyes following her. He forced himself not to laugh again as she almost knocked over another vase, tucking his hands into his pockets as he followed after her. He was far more relaxed now.
Though it was probably not the most healthy of relationships, William enjoyed riling Vera up, she had a kind of fire when she was irritated by him, always displaying her intelligence by trying to find the most cunning or dramatic way to make him eat his words, or just resorting to violence when that didn't work. The way she got even clumsier somehow when she was angry, and he dared to say even more attractive. Yes, definitely - there was a stronger sort of attraction William held for Vera when she was like this, almost enjoying her aggression towards him. He appreciated that Vera held herself highly, she wouldn't give in to his jabs and jives, and would outwardly throw them back in his face. It was charming, in a strange, horribly uncouth sort of way.
Clearing his throat as he saw fit to even better ruin Vera's failed 'grand exit' - William moved over to stroll right past. "Come now, Vera, don't want your obsession with me to cost the museum any more money in damages." He smirked, continuing down the hall past Vera and Lauren, toward Vera's office.

Hearing talk of demons, Darren's hand immediately reached into his jacket, grabbing his gun as he made sure that it was loaded with salt rounds. Taking a step or two back from everyone, his eyes scanned the crowd, listening as people spoke in an attempt to get something of a better idea of the situation. He hadn't encountered any demons who could teleport, as he assumed had happened, but he didn't think it was out of the realm of possibility. As he glanced around, he wasn't really gaining a whole lot at first, the vast majority of others present seemed to be in the same boat as he was, having been dumped there by whatever teleportation had grasped him.
He did appreciate it when the platinum-haired woman spoke up, trying to offer at least a basic explanation of what was going on. Raising an eyebrow at the name, he stepped closer. "Mephistopheles? As in Fausts' Mephistopheles?" Of course, Darren had encountered demons before, but at least this version of Darren had yet to meet any particularly famous ones. Of course, there was the incident in 2014 when he took down the seven deadly sins along with two other hunters (who were strangely familiar), but that hadn't happened yet. At least, not in his mind.
As Seraphina spoke up then, he turned his head toward her, raising an eyebrow at her explanation of what was going on. "Kumakatok? Timelines? What the hell are you talking about?" Darren might've found teleportation possible, but time travel? Being ripped through space-time and dumped in the middle of a circus ground? Now, that was ridiculous.

The Great Deer Yard Hotel was a massive affair, especially considering how few people were actually checked in currently, considering it wasn't exactly the season for visitors. It was almost eerie at breakfast, James sitting alone at the head of an almost comically long table, arms crossed over his chest as he waited patiently for the elderly woman who owned the hotel, a kind, widowed soul by the name of Peggy, to bring him his coffee. He'd finished the food, but he couldn't possibly start a day, particularly one which would be filled with an investigation, without his morning 'ritual'.
Thanking Peggy as she brought him the black coffee and the milk, he leaned forward for a moment, inspecting the dark liquid. It was still, thick, a few bubbles resting on the surface as it waited for any sugar or milk to be added. He had to stand up and walk down the table to retrieve the sugar, still sitting neatly in the middle of the barely set dining table. Returning to his seat, he carefully tore the top off the sachet, slowly but surely allowing each individual grain of sugar to pour into the glass, raining down onto the black coffee as it sunk below the surface, then only disturbed by the gently clinking of his spoon, churning the coffee around.
Once he'd worked up a reasonable enough whirlpool of dark liquid he set the spoon down, reaching out for the milk as he lifted it up, hovering it over the dark liquid before he carefully began to pour. Allowing the white and black liquids to mix and swirl together, he set the milk back down as he leaned forward, peering into the coffee. Five minutes passed with nothing, he simply stared at the swirling liquid. But then, there it was, clear as day and painted before him in the coffee - things were going to get more than a little interesting that day.
The highway sprawled out ahead of James as he drove, making his way now toward Coventry. It had been a long day for the agent, but his contact had given him enough clues to know where to go. He had considered asking them to come along with him, but decided against it - he figured he'd gotten more or less all he could from her. Sighing as he drove along, he had next to no clue of the events that had been unfolding in the town itself. He knew O.M.E.N. had sent an agent or two to Coventry, so of course he was getting ready to deal with the assholes.
Reaching the town, he thought it best to make his way to the Coventry Horrors first, where he would check in. However, he didn't get too far before slamming his foot down on the brake, seeing a blonde woman step out onto the road, heading toward the circus. Managing to stop around, he looked over the steering wheel toward Olivia, leaning down the window as he'd clear his throat. "You know uh, crossings are a thing, people tend to use them from time to time." He said in a strange polite-yet-sarcastic kind of way, giving the woman an odd look as his gaze drifted up and down, watching her closely as he - for now - remained oblivious to any of the goings-on in the circus just across the street.

While he's working, James tries to keep his outfit relatively professional, going with a comfortable suit, occasionally with a bulletproof vest underneath depending on just how dangerous the job at hand would be. At home, he frequently can be found in bunny slippers and a fluffy pink bathrobe which he wears around the house.
Sexuality: Bisexual Relationship Status: Single Personality: The first thing someone would usually notice about James is his sense of humour. He has a habit of making his humourous nature known by cracking jokes at every opportunity. Sometimes his particular sense of humour can come across as somewhat over-bearing and even eccentric though, with his eccentricity only furthered by his insistance of coffee-powered propheticism. Despite this, James still can laugh at almost anything, and aims to make almost everyone he meets laugh. James doesn't seem to really hold any particularly great fears either, or he is at least able to keep them very much under control, often able to keep himself calm and charge into danger without concern.
Often James has been called overconfident for his insistence on putting himself in particularly dangerous situations. Highly confident in his own abilities, James seems to see it as an impossibility that he could ever fail, let alone die. Whenever he does rush in, James always does so with the intention of helping people, a goal which can often be missed or lost under his comedic facade, with many people assuming he simply does not take things seriously. When he does involve himself in things however, James can be quite difficult to remove from the equation, and has often been called overbearing in his work. First Necromantic Encounter: On an assignment in the small rural town of Greenvale, Washington, James was assigned to investigate a series of murders with cult signs. As the investigation went on, James eventually discovered that the cult he was tracking down was led by a possessed individual. Not knowing how to deal with the situation at the time, he eventually dismantled the cult and killed the leader to force the demon out, who disappeared from the town following the encounter. Though he lacked the knowledge on dealing with demons, James took a particular interest in cults and the rituals many of them undertook, learning a great deal about them as a kind of specialty.
Life Before the Altsoba Massacre: Born in Langley, Virginia, James' father was a CIA analyst and instructor, and from a young age James was heavily affected by the stressful family life offered to most federal agents, often having to travel around along with his father, even overseas, and without any particular knowledge of what exactly his father did. Spending most of his time with his stay-at-home mother, James had little influence from a father figure throughout most of his young life, his sense of humour developing even when he was young as a kind of coping mechanism for what he often jokes about as 'daddy issues.'
Going through high school, James had a habit for making friends in every sort of group, staying out of trouble by being something of a social butterfly. Often he was able to get close enough to his fellow students to learn many of their secrets, a skill he discovered early into high school. As something of an unhealthy habit, James began to make a game for himself out of learning all he could about many of his fellow students, over time becoming infatuated with detective movies and shows, dedicated to his goal of becoming a detective. Going through university and studying criminal law, James started to get more in contact with his father again, the man encouraging his son to direct his interests toward the CIA instead.
Though he somewhat followed his father's desires, James found it more amusing for himself as he took a slight bit of rebellion, joining the FBI instead as he went through his training at the top of his class, eventually being assigned as a special agent to work alone. James spent much of his time since then travelling the country, looking into cases revolving around suicide killers and murders. Over time, his speciality changed into more occult cases, particularly focusing on cults, covens and ritual murders.
Life Since the Altsoba Massacre: Repeatedly since the Altsoba massacre, O.M.E.N has attempted to poach James from the FBI considering his previous experience and expertise revolving around rituals, however, he has refused to join the organization - finding many of their strategies and modes of operation much too violent for his liking. James has remained with the FBI, recently being re-assigned from an investigation in Oregon over to Coventry to investigate the deaths in the town.

By virtue of his position, Hamlin was lucky enough to avoid the common vibro or blaster scarring which many veterans shared, rarely leaving the cockpit of a starfighter during his time in the war. Hamlin has short, relatively unkempt dark brown hair which is usually left tousled by a helmet of one kind or another, along with a faint tan-line around his eyes from goggles worn during maintenance. He has dark blue eyes, and a relatively average athletic build, standing at 5'11". His face is grizzled with thin stubble and a sharp jawline.
Ace Pilot: With training and experience at his back, Hamlin has become adept at piloting most ships, a necessity for those often confined to the smaller, unshielded fighters of the Republic.
Quick Thinker: Hamlin has grown used to making split-second decisions, able to go over variables in his head quickly and come to a rational conclusion when time is of the essence.
Mechanics: Hamlin has always advocated that to truly be a good pilot, someone needs to know their ship in and out. Hamlin has been heavily involved in mechanics, both on starships and astromech droids, picking up more and more skills in repair and modification over his time in the war.
Lucky: While half of the reason that Hamlin has survived this long is testament to his skills and particularly his capability as a pilot, the other half is certainly pure luck. Whether he's talking his way out of a situation, firing a blaster blindly or making a risky manuever, so far, chance has been on his side.
Raised by farmers on the agricultural world of Dantooine, Hamlin spent much of his young life far from the bustling heart of the Republic and the troubles of politics and war, at most having to deal with the occasional Kath Hound pack or mercenaries. Living on a farm near to the Jedi Enclave, Hamlin spent a great deal of his young life at the enclave when his father would travel there to sell his wares or trade food to the Jedi, he was even given a degree of tutelage and schooling under a Jedi Knight by the name of Korvan Toldreyn (who mostly took on the task as an exercise in patience for himself).
These early years on Dantooine were among the first steps which pushed Hamlin to become a more compassionate and idealistic man as he grew. In a way, Hamlin grew to idolize the Jedi, finding their noble intentions and innate goodness compelling. Hamlin's parents were more than happy to have their son wandering the Enclave and interacting with the students and teachers there, knowing it to be one of the safest places on the planet at the time. It was in many of his visits as a young teenager that Hamlin began to come across occasional Republic visitors from the government and military, soon developing a great deal of patriotism along with his nurtured desire to do good.
For some years as a young adult, Hamlin took flying lessons under one of the frequent Republic visitors to Dantooine, a pilot named Ben Thano. Ben tutored Hamlin in the basics of piloting and continued to push the young adult until he was more than competent as a freighter and small-ship pilot. Along with encouragement from Ben, Hamlin eventually informed his parents that he would be leaving home to join the Republic Navy. Taken off-world by Thano, Hamlin was brought to Kuat to undergo his official training, graduating at the top of his class, less than a month before the beginning of the Mandalorian Wars.
In the earlier period of the war, Hamlin grew progressively more disenfranchised with the Jedi as they refused to involve themselves. Being involved in numerous defeats only soured Hamlin's perspective of the Jedi more, until the Revanchists intervened in the war. Serving under one of the many Jedi who flocked to Revan and Malak's cause, Hamlin became more and more skilled, rising through the ranks as he was involved in numerous battles, including the major Battle of Duro. By the time of the Battle of Malachor V, Hamlin had risen to the position of a squadron leader, leading attack sorties against Mandalorian capital ships and starfighter squadrons. However, Hamlin was the only one of his squadron to survive the battle, the rest of his squadron being destroyed either by Mandalorians or the Mass Shadow Generator which ended the war.
Hamlin was somewhat lost by the end of the Mandalorian Wars, disenfranchised with both the Jedi Order for refusing to become involved in the war, and now with the Revanchists for unleashing such devastation at Mandalore. Discharging from the Navy, Hamlin took the time to wander the galaxy, exploring the Republic freely as he had been unable to do so in his youth, more or less seeking a purpose. Unfortunately, until the Jedi Civil War, Hamlin spent much of his time in cantinas, drunk and self-loathing, until Revan returned along with his Sith Empire, and Hamlin begrudgingly chose to re-enlist.
Fighting against Revan and Malak, now the heads of the Sith Empire, brought a degree of satisfaction to Hamlin, seeming to put to rest a great deal of his struggles and regrets surrounding the Mandalorian Wars. However, he still often found himself conflicted when it came to Revan and particularly the Jedi overall, unable to understand the organization he had once believed to know in and out. By the end of the war, when Hamlin returned to Dantooine, he found himself without a home - his families farm, along with his parents, destroyed and killed during Malak's bombardment toward the end of the war.
For a time, Hamlin wandered the ruins of the Jedi Enclave, unsure what to do with himself. Eventually, after spending some time scavenging to work up sufficient credits, Hamlin found himself with little choice but to travel to Nar Shaddaa, ending up trapped as many others were in the refugee camps set up across the moon. Approached by the exchange in regards to the Jedi, Hamlin saw little choice but to take the organization up on the offer, still heavily conflicted as to his feelings on the now almost-dead order.
I've got a couple of other ideas for characters but this is probably my favourite. Regardless, i'm happy to edit/adjust almost anything as needed.
