Harry Walsh
Location: Qasr El Nil Barracks: Stables -> Aziza's Quarters
Harry gave no initial response to Aziza outside of a gentle nod as he allowed her to lace her fingers with his own. He could think of very little as he walked along behind her, allowing her to lead him through the base and up to her quarters. Had he been one of the many soldiers on the base he likely would have considered something untoward was going on, but he could not even consider such thoughts in a humorous manner as he followed along behind her. He had come to Cairo in order to write his story, and yet in this moment now where he might have been able to tell it to someone who would truly listen, he found pause.
There was no reason for him to tell Aziza, she believed it would help him, but he remained unsure of how much it truly would. With the way things had gone, Harry believed it likely that his memories would linger with him forever, that there would be no escaping them regardless of who he told or how he said it, why should he have burdened her with it as well?
As they reached her room, he let his hand slip from hers and watched as she placed down her things. As he watched her and the concern in her eyes, it filled him with warmth, but at the same time, stung. As he saw the concern she had for him he knew he was a burden for her. Though it had not been his intention, and though he knew deep down she would never call him such, he knew he was placing his woes upon her, and it hurt him to think that he had done so. Gently, Harry took her hands, moving to sit as he watched her carefully.
"It's hard to think of where I should begin... I guess the war has just never really ended for me." It was almost impossible to explain, Harry just knew he would have to try his best to help her understand.
William Drake
Location: The Egyptian Museum
As he looked over the tomes, William found himself somewhat surprised. Not that the majority seemed to be missing, no, he knew how thorough Vera was, and as such hadn't expected to find much. But her work was quite different to how it usually was, there was much less of a focus on the more complex theories first, and he couldn't help but wonder just how frazzled her mind had been that she had to focus on such basic theories first and foremost.
He had begun to do what he could to commit to memory the work she had done and expand upon it somewhat when he heard the crash in the other room along with Vera's scream. In an instant, William began to move back towards the room to see what the commotion was about when he saw Vera come running in and press herself against him. He was taken aback at first, gently setting his hands on her shoulders as he looked down at her.
"It's alright, what's the matter?" He asked, focused on her first and foremost, though he did briefly glance back towards the corner she'd come around, curious and wary as to what startled her.
