Matina, switching her attention once more, turned to Fara, her smile wavering a bit as she declined Matina's amazing, once of a lifetime offer. "Really? Are you sure? It was gonna be fun, I promise," she asked, a hint of sadness edging on her voice, though it was more disappointment than anything. Thinking it over, and before Fara could respond, she said, "Well, I guess you don't have to if you don't wanna, so I suppose the brownies can wait for another day, mmm, night technically." Matina shrugged slightly and made her way behind the counter, already forgetting her original job once more.

Anyway, do you need any help? I don't really have anything to do, although I feel like I did, but I can't remember...But I feel like it was important. But I can't remember. And whoops, now I'm repeating myself haha," she chuckled, standing next to the cash register, slightly leaning on it. Her adrenaline had quickly worn off, and now the tiredness had set in, making her eyelids heavy as she listened to the white noise of boiling water. Without looking at her, Matina spoke up as she rested her chin in her hands, "This is kinda out of the blue, but I just wanted to say thanks. A lot. I realize you do ninety nine percent of the work around here, and I just kinda..do whatever I suppose. So, sorry. And thanks again. You're a really good person. I probably shouldn't have this job, haha. But anyway, I'll try to uh, help more, " she gave a slight cough, turning her head to face Fara and giving her an apologetic smile. But just like that, the mood was gone as she noticed she was drawing.

Rushing over, Matina leaned over Fara, gasping as she exclaimed, "Oh my God! That's so cool! I have an idea! Can you draw me?! Or wait, is that insensitive? I didn't mean to be insensitive. They kinda look like you..is that you? Or is it a character? I wish I could draw," she rambled
@BurningCold Essentially, yes. The characters don't have to be the closest of course, but they do know each other enough to go on a trip together, if that makes sense.
@BurningCold They would be college students, excuse me for not clarifying. And I would prefer the face claims to be real

Welcome all to this years 10th annual “IND” of the world summer vacation, a never ending party from the day you arrive, ‘til the day you leave!
◆ ◇ ◈ ◆ ◇ ◈ ◆ ◇ ◈

The Island of New Dreams, or “The IND” for short, is a massive, highly hyped for, summer long, extremely pretentious and kind of elitist, not to mention party located on a large island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Globally known, this party is for the rich of the rich, typically for young adults with too much time and money on their hands and don't worry, the IND will take care of that for you, but of course, its doors are open to anyone who'll pay the enormous fee, but to some, it's just pocket change. The IND headquarters exist smack dab in the middle of the island, which also happens to be on a smaller island on a lake, and the only way to reach it is either by boat, or the picturesque bridge built across; one of the most favored locations of the entire island. IND Headquarters cradles a very modern appearance, more or less made of 90 percent glass, and up to date with the latest furniture and eqiupment; it's basically a giant mall that houses almost anything imaginable. From lastest clothing brands, electronic stores and virtual reality games hosted in many places, art shows and even an indoor pool that leads to the lake. It's basically a tourist attraction for the wealthy, but they don't like to call it that.

Hotels are placed on the edge of the beaches, but to be honest, they're more closely related to smaller, yet high class houses. Within each “bunker” as they like to call it, four master bedrooms, all with their own master bath, a massive living room connected to an open kitchen, and a walk down area that leads to the glass doors that open up to the balcony equipped with it's very own fire pit; if you want it, this place has it, no doubt. And if you were daring enough, one could even call this a “summer camp” for adults, very wealthy ones that is.

Parties here are thrown around as often as curse words; if you haven't been to an IND of the world party, you haven't lived. The first one is always dated on the first night everyone arrives, and is located at IND headquarters in the Grand Room, which as the room suggests, is rather grand, though technically not a room. A large open area built with its own center stage and multiple bars, the Grand Room hosts a total of two parties within it. The “entry” and the “exit” party. Switching views, though beach parties are awesome, there is only one spot that they occur in, just so the folks that decide to stay home can have silence if need be. Often Hawaiian themed, loud music can be heard from far away, but they “try their best” to keep it down. And one more thing: House parties are not allowed.

Other major activities include concerts. Yes, celebrities often stay here as well, and a lot of them preform; sky diving, jet skiing, zip lining, swimming with dolphins (not to mention that the IND has its own aquatic center), and it's very own “Fear Factor”. And yes, there is a hurricane shelter, just in case. Many fancy resturaunts along with lounge areas are located all around the island, but mostly near the hotels. Some are adjusted to fit a specific meal time to enhance flavor, others are designed to serve all times of the day, if you're more comfortable with that.

But watch out as political rivials stand at every corner waiting for the opportunity to take over businesses, for this is not just an island for wealthy partiers, it's an amazing opportunity to make deals and business partners, to announce a new product or to showcase it. A great way to make a name for yourself, the IND is much more than a grand scale party, it's a way to get noticed, to prove yourself, or just to enjoy life in the moment. To meet new people and have life long friendships or just fleeting romances. Whatever the reason, the IND isn't just another party; it captures the essence of life as one would in a picture. It's the end of the past, and into the future.

Welcome the the IND of the beginning, and the beginning of the IND!

Admission and Transportation
___________

Tickets open a month after the last party, but make sure to hurry as spots fill up quickly. As soon as you know it, you'll be on the waiting list if you're a moment too late. Registration is online, and kind of extensive, but definitely worth it. As for transportation, there is a cruise ship that takes the vacationers to the island, and from there on, there is a large entry gate where you must get your ID card. MAKE SURE TO HAVE THIS ON YOU AT ALL TIMES. This allows you to do whatever on the island; it's to make sure there are no stragglers that happened to make it on the boat, and it also doubles as a key card to get into the bunkers.
After you pay the admission, everything else in the island is free, except for the merchandise of course, but other than that, activities, restaurants, concerts, and drinks are all paid for.
But for those who don't exactly have enough money to get in, there is a special program in which one can apply for: The IND Program. This is basically a “scholarship” for those not as wealthy as others, but have enough potential to get in. This allows a select few a fully paid for trip, but in return must work on the island before it starts to help set things up. Basically, you're almost every job at once, calling once needed. It's exhausting, but it certainly pays off.

IND Rules:

Don't fuck shit up. Or you will be sent on a boat and shipped back to wherever you came from. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Real Rules

- Just,,be nice and we'll have no problems. Of course this doesn't count within the roleplay
- The characters come from every walk of life. The only thing they have in common, is that they're wealthy in one way or another
- Please post at least twice a week, or at least let me know if you can't so I don't assume you've ghosted
- I don't have a limit on the length of posts, just make sure they move the roleplay along
- This is a very open ended roleplay, so there isn't really a set plot, just plenty of character interaction
- Also, d r a m a

“Oh no haha, please don't touch those,” quickly yet awkwardly, Xavius moved from behind the small counter where he was currently discussing bouquets for Valentine's day with a mother, her small child standing next to her, until he wasn't of course, as he had started pulling petals off of some of the flowers that sat next to the entryway and tossing them to the ground, which, to be frank, he made sure to keep well swept. He disliked messy things, and that included children, for in fact, they are messy things. And to be honest, they kind of scared him; first of all: They were unpredictable, a trait he found undesirable and confusing. Second: They almost never listened and could be really cruel at times, but could get away with it because they were small and “innocent”. And third: Children were once again, horrifyingly messy. Maybe he was just over analyzing, but it was reasonable. To him anyway. Plants were better.

The familiar panicky feeling rose up in his chest once more as he tried to gently swat away the grubby hands of the child from tearing apart his flowers. That's another thing about kids: They were destructive. Like bulldozers from Hell, or something. God, he really didn't want to touch this child. Thankfully, the kid's mother rushed over and gently pulled her kid away, essentially saving him from the uncomfortable situation. Giving an embarrassed smile, the mother lowered her head a little, apologizing for her son, who didn't look nearly as apologetic. “I am SO sorry. I- he just kinda does what he wants, I should have kept a better eye on him, I'm very sorry. Is there anything I can do? Can I pay for it?”

“Oh no, don't even worry about it. It's so small, I can't even notice that he even did anything, it would be rude of me to make you pay,” but in truth, almost half of the flower was destroyed. “We all know how children can be; they make small mistakes that can be forgiven, yes?” but oh how he wanted to say some other things such as: Well maybe you could glue the petals back on? I dunno, just an idea, or We all know how children can be: Demonic, yes? But she was a customer and that would be rude.

“Thank you so much, and again, I'm sorry, I would've left him at home, but there was no one to watch him,” she explained.

“It's fine, it's fine, I totally understand. I mean, I was once that kid, my mother had to take me everywhere,” Xavius chuckled, walking back to the front counter, grabbing a small card from a stack and bringing it back to her. ”Anyway, here's my business card, and when you have an idea on what you want, just give me a call and I'll have it ready asap. It has my email and business phone number right at the bottom,” he gave a polite smile, folding his hands. In some ways he could relate to the kid, not meaning that he had the mind of a six year old, but the position he was in. He was almost tempted to give advice to the woman about raising him, assuming that she was a single mother, but he stopped himself as she just smiled and nodded at him, walking out the door, the little bell ringing above the door as they went through.

Watching them leave, as soon as they were out of sight, Xavius sighed and relaxed a little, the tension in his body leaving. Usually he loved to be around people, but interactions like this drained him physically and mentally. Luckily, it was near closing time, so he took off his apron and hung it up, double checked all of his plants to make sure they were fine, and straightened things up before turning off the lights and leaving, locking the door and turning the sign over to say “closed”.

It was hard to drive around this time of year, considering the festival was happening, so instead he walked back to the apartment, Redwood. The festival was actually quite interesting, especially since this would be his first time seeing it, and he admired all of the planning that went into it. Some would say this would be the golden opportunity to have his business open since all of the people would be here, but to be honest, he just wanted to take everything in and enjoy the activities, especially the wishing thing he heard about, he really wanted to do that one. Or maybe the play, that one sounded fun. He was a sucker for a play.

A few conversations later, while trying to avoid large crowds but failing, Xavius had finally managed to make it home, waving to a few people he had stopped to talk to as he walked in, heading straight to his room to clean himself up, getting ready for the rooftop party thing that was happening, which he had been pretty excited for all day, though “getting ready” was basically just chilling for a little bit before leaving again. ”Alright, well I'm leaving again I guess. I'll see you guys at the party hopefully. I don't want to be there alone,” he added the last part in quietly, opening the door and stepping through.”Ok, well. I'm off I suppose.” He didn't actually know whether his roommates were there or not, he didn't really check, though he hoped they were there, it'd be kind of sad if it were just him.
