Bio

Heyo! So I'm R31GN, a nickname I picked up when a director fucked up the pronunciation of my name big-time, in cringelord L337 speak so I can use it as a username wherever I go. I originally started RPing on the PlanetMinecraft Forums because... I was a cringey weeb piece of shit? Stopped that after a dickload of drama (Fuck you, BlackFTW/SilentAero. You're a prick.), started RPing again here awhile ago, but stopped for some reason that honestly escapes me. Came back here again just recently to improve my writing skills in my free time.

As such, I exclusively deal in Advanced nowadays, though I might be tempted into High-Casual. I'm into about any homegrown setting, but those taking place in an existing universe (Star Wars, Warcraft, Warhammer 4K, etc.) are a turn off for me. Not to say I'm instantly opposed, I'm just far more likely to be critical.

I am an avid stalker of Polyphemus ever since my last account here, mostly because we shar(ed?) a lot of common interest and ended up being in quite a few RP's together. Also he's a sexy hunk of man meat, mmm mmm.

I dig gritty shit, I dig superheroes, and I dig fantasy shit.

I have an irrational hatred of all things anime/mango/whatever. Not jokingly.

I don't do 1X1 shit, not since the Dark Island incident tm.

I sexually identify as Tucker from Red vs Blue, my pronouns are Bow/Chicka/Wowwowself

Lovely, thanks. Finally got something up, sorry about my delay.
Dirk listened intently throughout the briefing, as well as his colleagues contributions to the discussion. Though he was absorbing their conversation intently, he appeared to be staring engrossed into a tablet, white light dancing across his defined features. When there was a distinct pause in the conversation, he looked up and cleared his throat as he scanned the faces of his comrades. One of the older men on the team, he appreciated the young blood brought by both their resident chemist and pilot. He spoke, gently at first, "I'm afraid my talents are far more reactive than proactive. Unlike most of you, I won't be of much use until I can see our creature in action." Dirk began, his surprisingly deep and gravelly voice still carrying a light German accent.

Taking another moment to survey those around him, eyes lingering on the vial of poison held by Huan. "However, I can still offer my own ideas as to our solution. Firstly, what we are dealing with. As history seems to show in regards to our unfortunate monstrous visitors, they tend to model themselves at least partially in similarity to real life animals we have already populating our planet. Giant lizards, mosquitoes, octopi, et cetera. Now from that photograph of the footprints left behind, we can make a guess as to the nature of our friend." He said, pausing to clear his throat again. "From the spacing and number of prints, we can tell the creature is likely eight legged. This, coupled with the nature of the footprints as well as the use of some sort of blade, means we're probably dealing with some form of giant insect." He said, raising one hand in a clawed gesture, fingers waggling for emphasis.

"That being said, the creature likely has an exoskeleton, so I wouldn't count on explosives doing significant damage unless in ridiculously close proximity. Even then, with something on this scale, not likely a perfect deterrent in low quantities." He said, his grey eyes focused on Lorenzo. He turned to Huan, eyes narrowing in thought. "While the toxin sounds very promising, do be careful in your delivery system. If our 'molotov' is missed, somebody somewhere is going to have a very bad day. There's a reason chemical warfare is frowned upon, comrade. Still, toxin will likely be a powerful ally in our fight. I'm afraid in the little research I did while you were talking I was unable to find whether or not your toxin would affect an insect quite as well as a mammal. I'll trust you have that knowledge covered." He said, raising his eyebrows. He considered going on to discuss the pilot's idea, though he felt he had covered it in his words addressed to Lorenzo.

"Though far from perfect, here's my personal input on the situation -Our 'kaiju' is eight legged, amphibious, and nocturnal. Should it follow real world convention like many of our past visitors, this would likely signify a cold-blooded creature, quite possibly an insect. As such, my proposed solution is to freeze it -if we can somehow obtain rather large quantities of liquid nitrogen or some other artificial coolant and expose the creature to it, we can at the very least make it more docile in order to either capture or execute it. Of course, this is all reliant on the assumptions I made at the very beginning. This creature could very well be something completely alien in regard to what we know." He said, shuffling to stuff his tablet into a messenger bag at his feet. He looked up after finishing, pupils flitting from person to person as he made eye contact one at a time, searching for some feedback on his plan.
Oh hey, this is a thing. I'd suggest pinging everyone involved if we're planning on starting anytime soon. Might be most people just didn't notice you put the actual OoC up.
Riggs

Riggs tilted his head as he listened to Ven speak. "Yes, that sounds rather agreeable. I shouldn't think that, in our end of the mission, we should need to flaunt our ruse of mutiny much, if at all. I think you're on a proper track of thinking. Best to hunt down some general leads in a bar or the like, then go to my 'associates', to get a better lead." Riggs said, musing with his hand on his chin as he continued to recall names and faces of the men he had dealt with in the past. It was surprisingly easy to get information on basically anything if you had the right names on Nomad.

Though in his anarchist dealings in the past he had been tempted by men selling information critical even to the Council, though that was a can of worms Riggs refused to open in the past. He had no problem toppling governments he felt he could control the descent of -he did not feel so strongly about the Council. Perhaps, by the end of this spiraling clusterfuck, his hand would be forced to take action against the superpower.

Riggs' expression changed to one of shock when the ship rocked, and he fell instinctively to a low crouch, arms spread wide to keep his balance. "Now, the time for planning seems to have come to an early conclusion." Riggs said, regaining his composure. He placed a hand on the back of his bandaged comrade, giving him a gentle push forward. "Move quickly, or die here. I'll find you at the escape pods, and be hasty my friend." Riggs said, as he turned the opposite direction of the escape pods. His lanky limbs carried him in a sprint to his quarters.

As Riggs entered the room, his eyes narrowed under the flashing red lights. Sirens filled his ears as he dashed to the far wall to collect the papers and notes plastering the wall. His eyes widened as he reached an arm out to grab them, only for the fragile paper to be engulfed in orange tongues of flame. Riggs stumbled backwards, shouting a string of curses. He felt the ship rumble once again as he exited the room, and found himself tossed against the wall along with a spray of debris. A gutteral growl clawed out from his throat as he shrugged off the broken section of ship that broke against his glossy skin. His glowing tattoos could be seen bobbing swiftly through a cloud of smoke as he limped as quickly as he could to the escape pods. From a wound on his leg, a trail of deadly basic liquid flowed, smearing a twisted line in his wake.
@Polyphemus
Real quick before I post, just something on the briefing I'd like to clear up. Do the photographs show enough tracks to determine how many legs the creature likely has? I'd think that around 6 pairs of prints would be enough to make at least an educated guess.
Hey all, sorry for the lack of posting. I've been trying to find some free time, but with work and other various activities happening IRL, I haven't had much time, and it might be a bit before I do again. I'll try to get something up, but I won't have time for anything quality until Sunday at the earliest. (On a happier note, Civil War is great. 5/7, perfect score. Tell your friends.)
Eww, learning? Sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a bit there.
@Polyphemus
Yep, more than one would be fairly redundant, though I do apologize in advance. I personally don't know much about animal psychology so I'm going to spending a lot of time on Wikipedia, haha. But coolio, I'll toss him in.
