Got it. I realized that I have no idea where to go for this premise, so I'll let it freeze for awhile, while I get some ideas.
With everyone centered in one area and sly having an empty area between him and other nations, he does look smaller, even though he was never touched.
Sounds good on all accounts to me. I'll be sure to get a full post written up soon-ish. Gonna be fun re-writing the whole plot to The Thing and Dead Space.
That first post is good, a quick intro to your land being formed. I just now need to get a "food chain" creation sheet up and running
My inspiration, and To give you an idea of what you should expect.

The setting: A nightmarish world where everything, from the mountains to the gun wielded and the bullets the primitive, vaguely humanoid abominations fire, are living creatures, shaped into twisted, disturbing forms. We are the makers of these lands, the Genius Loci. Armed with the powers of evolution and life, nothing dies here. Everything, from the body and the mind, to the spirit and soul, are remade into new things after the old thing has expired. Everything here is reincarnated into new things, overtime. What you make of these materials, is up to you.

For those who want to join, here's the sheet. Be sure to write a suitably gross birthing of your land, once you are accepted.

Name: What is your region called?

Geography: What kind of terrain does your region have? Remember, everything is alive in this world. Every rock is bone, and every grain of sand is like a skin cell. Dig too much, and you may expose muscle tissue, and cause the land to bleed.

Method of Recycling Matter: How does your land turn old, expired matter into new matter to be used.
From the essence of stars, Genii Locorum was born, a twisted, beautiful abomination amongst the lands of gas and rock. Created like a living creature, it performs functions a planet should never do. It bleeds when cut, digests the living in horrible ways, and begets life in unsettling, nauseating ways. A thing of equal parts beauty, and ugly horror.

From the land arose a great bulge, which swelled and enflamed. Eventually, the zit was cut from within, releasing blood and pus to flood around the surrounding lands, giving much needed sustenance to the parched, dead land. From the remains of the boil arose a singular, rounded mountain, tipped by spikes and plates of bone, sharp and hard. Flesh lay around these spikes, which then soon ruptured outward, leaving behind holes, which led deep within the innards of the living planet. From the horrid spectacle, The Esophaghul Mountain was born.

:p

This is what I thought of with the assimilators assimilating something while being assimilated by another assimilator. What is eating what?!
@SigmaAfter thinking for a bit, I've decided that I'll invade you after establishing myself. The thought of an assimilating force itself being assimilated is just too good an opportunity to pass up, imo.
