A little about myself and why Im here. Im an adult mid twenties with a serious addiction to fantasy stories and art, metaphysics and dimensions. Plus history and politics. My stories rarely involve fairy dust and rainbows. I aim to reflect the deepest and rawest parts of humanity into my work. Then have it reflect back to others.

Check out my album on here with my sketches.

I have a roleplay called Ascension.
A tale of 7 bloodlines. 5 elements combine with Dragons & Seraphim. Mix them as you will. Then explore and create in a changing world. I've out years of thought into this roleplay. If you're looking for a high fantasy with a active GM. If you love long term roleplays, ones where characters grow old and die. Here you go. roleplayerguild.com/topics/171791-asc…

Hello everybody. I'm glad to say version 1 of the map is up.

Question real quick: (I just skimmed the OP to get an idea of what was going on, and I feel like I read the answer to this but I want to clarify anyway)If I choose to make a hybrid, say 60% of A, 40% of B, I'm to assume that no matter how much my character "levels up", there is no way he/she could gain a spell with the powers noted in the "60%" section of race B?And as for the lore (I'm asking this while considering possible character histories) what would young (child to teenage) characters be doing in their youth? I mean, what lead up to their decision to join one of the factions? Or is a faction something you're born into/picked up by from a very very early age? I mean, is there any sort of a coming-of-age thing akin to human's graduating college where they go to select what they wanna do with their life?

First as for your earlier question about where I came up with the lore, well it's a combination of many different stories. As all stories stem from one, creation, life, and how we came to be here.
Blood% determines your character's natural affinity for things. Any spell can be taught, the more in line with the character's blood traits the easier they will be able to learn. Abilities are the same.
When growing up the most well sought after children are taken to schools within a capital. In the capital they are taught basic history, math, science, etc. Then they are taught depending on the capital's specifics. Such as plantation for Vrondi, potions for Nero, underwater exploration for Tearianaris etc. As for the lower class children who are not in capital they are either privately taught or not given a formal education at all.
Factions have a requirement listed in their description. Choose which you want to join if your character, through their history or experience meet the requirements to join. Factions are plot devices that allow you to come into the game with more indepth alignments. Or over time join or leave them. They're not a necessity.
The coming of age process would be a lot like ours in within the capitals. Other than that working and earning a living is the usual way one reaches adulthood. The choice of joining a faction can be that coming to age, it depends on the character.

Alright sorry for triple posting, but here's my last bit of input:•Can our characters be neutral in the central conflict? (The whole rebellion against the god)•This god that is supposedly the same person who fathered the first descendants - isn't he just a seraphim with 100% blood? Would making a character with 100% seraphim blood basically be creating someone at his level? (Maybe true seraphims shouldn't be allowed)?•I was thinking of making a seraphim based character but I feel he would be extremely OP in contrast to the other races which are based on pieces of the DNA that I house. Seraphim is basically the "god" class. Why wield fire when you can control the universe? Maybe some means of balancing things would work.•the way the mech section is placed in the CS, it almost seems like a mech is a requirement. Is it?•what exactly is a soul gem? I mean is this only for meta use, or will our characters find soul gems IC and then gain a level up. How exactly do they work? (Eat it, absorb it, bash it against our nuts?)•back to the whole neutrality thing, if I choose to make a character who wants to be neutral in the war from the beginning, what kind of atmosphere am I looking at that might change his views? Is the god seraphim a tyrant who's making out lives miserable? Is the world plagued by warfare and destruction? •if I make my character 80 seraphim and 20 sol, but have him grow up in Vondri, could he technically learn higher sol spells through training with pure sols? (I.e. Learning plant manipulation from a Sol caster master)?

•Yes.
• He fathered the first Descendants with Seraphim blood. Descendant genes linger in them making them imperfect. All Descendants have Dragon souls, even the ones born with 100% Seraphim blood. Making them incapable of using true Seraphim powers even when Ascended.
• Seraphim characters are indeed very powerful. But they are the most hated. If you run with a Seraphim character you will be met with much opposition. Seraphim powers revolve around the realm of portals and the soul, so beyond that they have to earn what others can use naturally. Their intangible ability has a specific weakness I'll mention later.
• The Mech section is there for those who choose the machinist class. But, over time a character can receive a mech. It's not necessary if you don't choose a machinist class.

• Soul gems are used for leveling up your character in game. I will drop soul gems in game, usually through boss level encounters. I typically reward people with Soul gems, also they will be purchasable through trade. Giving up your character's mech for a few soul gems for example is possible. These gems harvest lost Ascended souls which can be absorbed by the holders soul. They then turn to dust. Pretty sparkles.

• At the start of the IC neutrality will be the basic stance of most. The God harms no one, he forces no one. But there are still bloody conflicts between the Aion and Therosi factions, casualties resulting on both sides. IC events will unfold that may or may not alter your views.
• Yes. If your character's years and experiences match up with what they know then it's fine.

These questions and answers will be moved to FAQs
Nice. I'm thinking of making this a creative process as well as a combat based Roleplay. I hope people make use of the mixing of blood lines, spells, skills and abilities.
I might move to casual to get more interest. Or I might do both. At the same time, any suggestions? Drop them in before it starts.
Still working on it. I made a change where you may have one spell of your choosing and a new class to support spell casters.
Made my interest check! http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/50091/posts/ooc?page=1#post-1520250

Check it out NOW!
Yay I got one! And it's a cthulu!

Polished it some, any questions or suggestions? Feel free to ask because I'm making a FAQ sheet.
A roleplay I'm working on. Seeing if I can garner some interests. Check it out.
The main directive I want to go with are multiple sagas and time skips in between. Now this roleplay will be free roam but the size of the entire realm will make travel difficult. Technology will be advanced in certain areas more than others. But there will be something they will be lacking the other is superb at; like medicine. But most modern advancements are available; such as television and vehicles. Your character can come back to life after death with a 10 soul level & with a power boost.

@Lugia - A Video game? Nice. One as me can only hope to make it so far one day.

@KaBling - It's ok. I know how it is, maybe when the new one comes up I'll see you again.
Not to confuse you, I mean when I draw the novel, and section off the specific points into a finalized written story. Be it as this is a RP, with your influence making a difference it will differ from what's exactly in my head. But, my idea for RPing it out is to learn and gain perspective on what will be the final, true and original story.

I might be canning this rp here sooner than I thought. So don't bother posting, I'll let you know when the new one is up.

I'm just sitting here, drawing maps.
