It’s none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.

“There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.”

And we need more Christi.

I approve this message.
@The Spectre

w00t! Nice work bro :)

...And I hope he doesn't plan on walking to the Archives every work day ;)
Alrighty, here's a few new ideas for uniform/armor concepts based on discussions in Discord the other day & keeping some continuity in the style:

@Thundercrash

I tried to keep my dialogue open-ended in the event you don't have a chance to post, but that being said, hopefully Vin and Christi will have something of a conversation.
“Hey it was just a thought!”

Vin suddenly felt as though he were being ganged up on by the two girls, like it mattered whether he was carrying a shotgun, handgun, or a bazooka.

“But I think I’ll defer to Christi’s expertise in the matter, Jennifer, since she is clearly more apt at using guns...and kni-”

He quickly cut himself off, realizing that probably wasn’t a subject to broach at this time, nor anytime, considering it caused enough trauma for the little girl. At that point, Jennifer more or less stopped listening after being spooked by Jack the dog, who didn’t seem all that interested in bothering anyone at the moment.

“Yeah, maybe you are giving off bad vibes, babe.” He snorted, as she passed him by and headed toward the edge of the thick forest where Nate had entered.

He turned his attention back to the mine’s entry way, narrowing his eyes to have a better look down the dark corridor that lead into the unknown. He’d seen enough horror movies in the past to know that “old, abandoned mine shafts” were never the smartest places to venture into and yet his curiosity on the subject was piqued enough that he actually looked forward to it. On the other hand, the question did arise, which had been milling around in his head for awhile.

“Why a mine shaft?” He finally said, tipping an old wooden crate upside down, and sitting a few feet away from Christi. “Eli couldn’t think of any other place to hide out besides…this?”

He didn’t know if he was directing the questions to the kid, or just asking rhetorical non-sense out loud that he already knew the answers to. Either way, Vincent could feel the exhaustion setting in, and even while he sat on the creaky box, his legs thanked him for the reprieve. Though he wasn’t the healthiest thirty-something, he kept in well enough shape not to die of a heart attack anytime soon, but the last few days have been the most daunting on his mind and body. He dazedly staring at the artwork inked into his arms, wondering when the next panic attack -or worse- would set off the evil bastard living inside him. Like Jeckyl and Hyde, Vin felt as though his curse was a culmination of two individuals rather than one, and he feared that the latter part would take over enough one day that he may never revert to his normal self again.

“I never asked for this shit…” He sighed, mumbling to himself, but within earshot of Christi.

@LegionPothIX Overall nice work!

We let way too many things from England slip in, like freaking Colonel being pronounced like "Kernel" (as in popcorn).

And don't forget adding the letter "U" to words where it's not necessary :/
On the contrary chica, I thought you balanced it well enough. There really are no "rules" per se, just guidelines to keep in mind, and you're doing fine.

Sorry for the delayed post, aside from the other RPs, time just wasn't on my side this week.

So yeah...hard times for ol' Kelly :)

At this point, she's in the middle of nowhere (more or less) but if she heads in the same direction she was driving, she'll see a gas station about a mile up the road. I'll let you take it from there...

Keep in mind though, she would most likely be reeling from her experience, as her human mind hasn't quite caught up with everything.
Echoes of the past, variations of sounds, smells, and taste all collide, begging for attention. Kelly took the wheel, leaving the chaos and gore behind her, continuing in the direction she’d decided on back in the forest. The sign “Thompson Street” appeared up ahead, indicating what road she was currently travelling on, but real question was, where they hell was she? It seemed like the stretch of road went on forever, allowing her mind and body to settle, as though she were slowing coming down from a high. Music, the volume turned down rather low, could be heard through the speakers, something likened to a classic rock song, but slower, taking her mind back suddenly to the hospital.

An overwhelming series of emotions and thoughts soon flooded her mind..

The security guard near the fence beyond the courtyard, his throat ripped out, and bloodied body lying still on the wet grass. Another soon followed, same as the first, as the blood covered her body, and the taste on her tongue was pure bliss. She fled, the adrenaline carrying her more than any fear of man, as she bolted through the dark forest. But what slowed her down? Ah yes, the tranquilizers she’d been hit by numerous times before exiting the perimeter of the hospital. The wolf pushed hard and fast, as quickly as it’s strength could carry her, whipping past all forms of forest creatures, thick branches, and across small streams of water, before finally slowing and collapsing.

Flash forward to daylight in the forest. The two boys, the creature within could have easily torn them apart, never wincing once or hesitating at the thought, but Kelly had partial control at that moment. Enough to warn the older kid, and spare his life. But no...it was the hunger that took over shortly following, a hunger that had her on four legs, running barefoot and naked through the cool forest, until she caught her prey. The flesh and blood once again on her lips, running warm and free down her chin and onto her bare chest. She was covered. The wolf had to run again, and this time…oh god, this time!...an innocent man and his canine companion. Torn to pieces in the blink of an eye, with no regard for either life….

Kelly quickly snapped out of her emotional roller coaster long enough to swerve the vehicle before it crashed into another oncoming truck blaring it’s horn. In that moment, as the truck passed, time seemed to slow down for Kelly and she could see the older man driving, his fearful yet disgusted expression as he stared at her. And just as quickly, she found herself off on the shoulder of the road heading toward a rocky berm, but nothing could be done at that point as the car came to a quick stop when it hit the mound of stone and dirt, throwing her forward against the deployed airbag.

The realization of not only her physical & naked state, but of past events hit her all at once, as she felt the pain, not only of her dark deeds, but her wounds. Her insides hurt, and without warning, she vomited onto the passenger’s seat, a mass of blood and digested meat strewn everywhere, and the scent repulsed her even more. Whatever was happening to her, it was as though the wolf had abandoned its host, its fearlessness gone, replaced by emotions.

Terrible human emotions that left her paralyzed with indecision at that moment.

@Xandrya
@Thundercrash Yay!

btw, Vin & JJ were actually outside the mines, but we'll eventually be going in when Nate arrives to do some 'esssplorin' :)
