A Strange Point of Energy

A strange energy can be felt across the land, drawing the attention of many magic-sensitive creatures to a long, open field of grass. However, this field was not empty, as a large, glowing black crystal spike had erupted from the ground, and was the source of the energy. If one looked close enough, it almost looked like someone was inside, pounding on the walls of the crystal in a desperate attempt to get free. It is impossible to tell if the person is male or female.

Name: Shadow

Nickname: Shade, Shady(but call him that and you die)

Age: 700

Species: Shadow Construct

Backstory: Shadow was created by a mad yet brilliant wizard who sought to make an unkillable minion...and succeeded. However, the wizard died not long after, causing the at the time unnamed shadow golem to assume a rather simple name, and wander the world aimlessly. However, fearing his origin, a group of wizards banded together and sealed him away for several hundred years, until today.

Powers: as a being made entirely of a shadow-like magic, Shadow can shift and warp his body into a number of shapes, and change the density of any part of his body as he sees fit. Shadow can also manipulate darkness and shadows in the world around him, shaping them just as easily as he shapes himself. In addition, he has no exact gender, so may shift slightly from one to the other as he so chooses. However, he often prefers being a she, as he was originally created that way. He can also generate rather weak shields that protect him from most minor magical attacks.

Gender: genderfluid

Appearance: Shadow has many forms, but his favorite is that of a humanoid around 7 feet tall, with sharp points at the end of his fingers, and two glowing, pupil-less orbs that serve as his eyes. he has no mouth, except to imitate facial expressions like smiles, upon which light forms the appropriate expression. His form is not solid most of the time, and shadow drifts off of him like vapor. In addition, his "hair" flows in an unseen wind most of the time.

Other: He hates being called Shady, and completely adores cream cheese. also he loves cats, but hates when they shed all over him.

Hello there. This is a fun little RP I came up with, the name is basically describing the area this takes place in. long story short, the energy draws in wizards and other magical-attuned folk, so thats what your characters must be. other than that, you can go nuts with your character...er, as long as its not too silly okay? So, you can be any age above 9, and below 900 for those ancient magical beings out there. Any height, anything. Elf, goblin, human what does it matter? you could even be a....i dont know, a stone golem? Im just rambling, because thats a thing I do. That said, carry on Mentlegen.
