Today I'll be looking over everything and making note. Yesterday was hectic so please understand I didn't get time to read your background in, which I will take care of now. In regards to your Character Sheet:

Notes

-You mentioned asking how you can tidy up your CS. To answer that:
A. Be sure to hit 'enter' at the end of each subject. For example Your height and weight are directly beneath each other. Just put a space between the two so that it appears more concise.

B. Please remove all emoticons and parenthesis. I would like for this to be 'resume-esque' as it were. For example, in your weapon description you put Revenge (subtitle: The Queen Annes). I already see the title of the weapon and it's subtitle at the top, making the point in parenthesis a bit much.

C. You may have ONE theme song. It's difficult to encompass a character in a novelty song, I understand that. I don't have an issue if you use one of those but it may be beneficial to try other music. Think about it: Ruby's theme is Red like Roses and Yang's is I BURN!. Do you want 'You are a pirate' playing while your character is kicking ass? That's fine if it is, in fact that's more than fine but you can only pick one, so make sure you love it.

D. This is just a personal preference since I grew up in the mockery that is the American education system, but please convert your weight to pounds and your height to feet and inches. I am shame.



E. MmmmmmmmmmNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEUUGUHHHH Alright. Mako for blue-grey is fine. After all, Qrow and Raven fit in for theirs being black so.... it passes.

F. It's good you know your inspiration but you need to go over exactly why and how your character is like your inspiration. Mine is a good example to follow; are there physical similarities to the pirate Anne Bonny? Are there similarities in backstory? Did Anne get killed by being fed to sharks because if she did that would be a super cool similarity that possibly inspired you and I want to see that in your description.

-Alright, that about covers the clean up for the CS. Now, I really like your abilities. I think they're fair and balanced and could be used in a creative manner. The dust canonballs also fit for a pirate character. THAT BEING SAID, are you sure you will be always pleased with your weapon? Having it said that it can just be used for melee up close isn't much. Can it turn to anything else? If you're pleased with it, just say so. I just want to make sure that it won't later become regretful at all.

-I would like the image you have replaced, as stated before

-Would you mind elaborating what you mean by 'drawing fire' under your combat skill set? Just through here, not on the CS

-Hidden Shame in personality causes it to be six words. Perhaps Guilty or Regretful would be best to sum it up?

-Now that I've finally had the chance to read your character's backstory, I like it a lot. But, there is one issue. Her father really seemed to love her and the fact that it was him personally that was shooting at her doesn't really line up. Sure he was angry; but it makes more sense for a subordinate or crewmate of his to be firing at her that ultimately caused her to lose her fin.

Phew, I know it seems like a lot but I really like the character and see a place for her.

Turbo, here are my notes for your character sheet.

Hider

-Please, overall, tidy up your character sheet. I'd like for it to look as professional as a Character sheet can be so that when people come to look at our CS page they can easily understand everything being said.

-Adding onto the last note, I'm having a lot of difficulty understanding your descriptions. It seems the sentences used are a bit roundabout and it would be helpful if you got straight to the point.

-The picture is hard to make heads or tails of (bu-dum-tiss). Is it possible to find a cleaner version or one that is similar to your character design? The fin, and anything shark like, can be added on in description

- Why all the theme songs?

- Your theme in general needs to be more precise. I think focusing on that could bring up the quality of your character sheet as a whole. It's good now, I think it could be better if it had a straight direction. The theme being as vague as it is now is somewhat in violation of the rules. How is she like Anne Bonny? Who is Anne Bonny? Please elaborate.

-The other rule that a character must be named after a color is also being violated, please amend this.

When not having to be in Beacon's uniform, Rood ordinarily adorns himself in ornate gold armor up to the waist with a royally bold red cape sashed at his waist which billows when he walks. He wears expensive heavy golden earrings and a red stone necklace at all times regardless if he is in uniform or not. His body is decorated with intricate red paint as a symbol of his status.

His arm is covered in chains with a speared tip at the end, making lashing out with this long range weapon a very deadly experience. The speared tip can 'flower' out into a mini revolving end which Rood can fire off AS he whips this weapon around with the help of his semblance

A classic lance with decorative and intricate craftsmanship. Best when paired with Rood's semblance. Though it has the option to use Dust, a situation where that would be necessary hasn't been crossed. Or has it?

Friction Manipulation
Rood is able to run on air (but NOT fly), walk on water, deflect oncoming attacks, increase or decrease and object's velocity, and change his own inertia. He is also able to generate heat, but not flames by concentrating all on the friction in regards to his body's/an object's placement. Without a gun, he is able to fire off bullets at will by concentrating his friction, hence the placement of the 'gun' at the end of his whip. See 'Other' for limitations.

Rood is extensively knowledgeable about Dust but for some reason doesn't carry any on him.

Background
For now, Rood's personal history will be shrouded in mystery. What can be shared is common knowledge to all students attending Beacon Academy. The Rah name belonged to a very prestigious family who once ruled the Kingdom of Mistral. The family line, however, fell due to unforeseen circumstances; enemies of past generations ambushed members of the family and cut them down. Desperate to hold the prestige of the family line, the few Rah's remaining married into Atlas' own royals the Schnee's. The two familie's connected only by forced marriages ruled in their separate kingdoms once order was restored, and the purity of the Rah line was forever broken. From there, two generations down, Rood was born a von Rah. This will be the first time in his life he has ever been exposed to working with others his own age.

Character Theme
Though he encompasses the summation of egyptian culture and religion as a whole, Rood is best described as a genderbent Neith, the Egyptian Goddess of War who wields a masculine bow and arrow. Traded instead for his main weapon is the feminine whip and his red necklace in place of her red crown. Neith is known for her love of weaving, which I wanted to really translate to Rood; which I did in the form of him enjoying sewing and making things out of it for others.
'Rood' is Dutch for red, and 'von' is a common German name add-on, which is frequent pattern seen in the Schnee name. Rah, of course is in reference to Ra, the egyptian God of the sun.

Other: Jaune is the best

About Friction - Rood's Semblance is vast in its potential, this is true. Or it would be if he could do more than one of any of those things at one time. Every use of his semblance takes all of his concentration, and it doesn't take long until all that usage takes a toll. Thanks to the nature of the semblance, Rood is at constant risk for overheating or in the worst case scenario spontaneously combusting, making his ability a dangerous one to wield for not only other, but for himself.

Beacon Academy

20 years before the events of RWBY

A peaceful school that goes about it's daily business of training hunters and huntresses has seen tragedy in the war from the years past. They can only hope for a better future that their students will not make the same mistakes as their predecessors and feel the scrutiny of the overbearing government on all sides. Surely, anything that would present itself to be a threat to society would cause their peers to sweep the rug out from under their feet and shut down the school altogether. It's no wonder, then, that this generation never went into Beacon's history books and was altogether silenced into never existing at all.

If these halls could talk, what would they say about those strange, forgotten years?

The Status of Remnant

GRIMM

In the times of war past, despair is explicit. Times are hard, and panic is easily fallen into. The Grimm are a dark, and very real threat. Especially now.

THE WHITE FANG

The White Fang, at this time, exists in the most conceptual stage. The Faunus have grown tired of prejudice and wish for their voices to be heard.

ACADEMIA

All Schools are operating and some are doubling as a safe haven for displaced family members and the wounded. Most supplies are being sent straight to the schools, causing a rift between the Kingdoms as a whole in terms of their attitude toward the training facilities of huntsmen. Civilians may sneer or outright even despise students and faculty when they go into the cities.

COMMUNICATIONS

All communication systems are operational with only minor towers throughout the kingdom having fallen. It's thanks to the diligent work of civilians that they are operational before the school system begins. Currently it's under heavy operation even with it working; and shutdowns have become frequent much to staff frustration.

Rules

1. No Mary Sues.

2. No Godmodding.

3. Don't be a jerk. If I give you a critique understand I do it in your best interest and never intend to come from a place of hostility when remarking on a CS. This rule also applies to after you may have been accepted. Personal matters shouldn't be discussed in the OOC if it's going to be an issue. I.E. Bringing up your political views is bound to spark an argument.

4. I will almost always make a decision based on a majority vote. This is a democratic system I'm using and there are no bad ideas. That being said, if you propose to make every character into Jaune I will probably say no with no votes to count on.

5. Put Jaune is the best at the bottom of your CS so I know you read the rules.

6. Instakills suck. Don't use them.

7. No canon character CS's

8. Please have a clear theme for your character. It makes it more fun that way. That being said, please do not use pre-existing themes from the show (i.e. Achilles, Red Riding Hood, New Orleans Jazz, etc) It does NOT have to be cut and dry but it does need to be inspired.

9.The story occurs after the war, so please name your character after a color using any creative method of doing so you like.

10. When posting, I expect at LEAST one paragraph of 5 sentences. That is your minimum. MINIMUM!

11. On particularly long posts, I ask you to separate your paragraphs with the enter key. I have an irreparable eye condition that can make it difficult to focus on massive walls of text, so I just ask for your consideration.

12. Due to large numbers of characters, in an informal setting, please wait two people to post before you begin again. HOWEVER. In a plot-driven environment, do your best to wait for everyone to cycle through at least once. If a certain player has been lulling, then you may skip them. Please let me know before you do that first, I would greatly appreciate it.

13. IF YOUR CHARACTER IS ADDRESSING SOMEONE ELSE'S CHARACTER, use the mention function. It makes it very easy to keep track of where your attention needs to be versus everyone having to read everyone's posts even if it may be completely irrelevant to them. If you need everyone's attention, then mention everyone. This doesn't apply to the first rounds of posting so much but it will become more relevant as the roleplay goes on.
