West paused right before the gates. He kept walking past, just for a moment as he saw someone walking down the main path.
And was that a wire in their ear? When he saw fingers move towards it, he figured that was the case. Shit, it looks like his attempt at a pre-emptive strike was a little too late. No matter, there were always contingencies. You didn’t get to West’s position without numerous back-up plans and other ways of dealing with a problem.
So, distractions would be necessary. That was fine. He could handle that.
He followed the sidewalk, pulling his phone out of his pocket and opened an app of his own devising that connected directly to one of the labs in the main lab building. He’d been setting things up for the past few weeks to make this procedure a success.
He would get his success.
With a press of few buttons on the app, the receiver in the lab got the message.
An electrical signal pulsed through the room, and an EMP wave distorted the computers, the lights; basically every piece of technology in that lab either frizzled with loud noises or sent the lights haywire.
Step two was the dorm building itself. Some sneaking around and careful hand movements on a residence tour gave him access to a private office on the main floor of the building.
That was a little trickier. Planting explosives was usually a bad idea, but a little reassembling got him to put a very tiny explosive in the back of the computer. Not enough to damage anything but the device itself, but it would be enough to get the fire alarm to set off.
Phase one: kite away some of the guards. Phase two: get the building to evacuate.
Phase three: get into the crowd, grab Emma, knock her out, and sneak away before he gets noticed by anyone else. There were many things that
could go wrong, but he still had numerous contingencies to get him out of it. As well as a few methods to take out an Elite agent if they got in his way.
Including a strange device sent to him by the organization he was hired for.
“Use it in a pinch.” They said. Hopefully he wouldn’t get there. Using anything he didn’t understand made him dreadfully uncomfortable.
Right now he had his two buttons pressed. A fire in the main building, and a laboratory going haywire. When the time was right, he could move without any other issues. He stepped through the gates, pulling out the ID card the school gave him so that people knew he was a visiting grad student and walked passed the school towards the main gate.
