ACADEMY CITYFireworks sound off in the eve of the morning to signify the beginning of the festivities. Tourists pour in from all around to see the opening of the Vespasian Dome in District 7. Schools have been cancelled for the momentous occasion so those that didn't want to go to school probably held joy in their hearts.
Cars pulled in while Anti-Skill cars sat at the road-side to identify the people that came through. Some kids were up early in the morning with their families to play around, be it in parks or downtown where the stores were opened up early for people who may have driven long ways or flown from overseas. It was all very lively just for the early morning.
One boy in particular was sluggish though due to lack of sleep and all the commotion outside. His name?
Kamijou Touma.
Touma's Apartment“Ahhhh…” he groaned while he slipped out of bed with his spiky hair. “What… time is it?” he mumbled to no one in particular. “Index?” he said the name of the other ‘loafer’ in the house. A girl with silver-hair, green eyes and a ‘pleasant scent’ which the original ‘Touma’ himself ascribed to the young girl upon their first meeting.
It was an awkward time, really.
Well, it would be awkward if he could actually remember how it happened. His memories from that time are nothing but a blank due to the events that happened afterward.
“Index?” the normal teenage boy managed to pull himself from the sheets to look around.
There was a faint sound.
No, not a sound.
Breathing.
He sniffed the air.
That same faint scent he can’t recall.
There Index slept right beside him in the bed. Again. Breathing contentedly while in slumber. Instead of raising hell about it - he pulled the covers over her while she slept with Sphinx (Index’s cat) curled into her flat chest.
“Sigh…”
The nightmare from the previous night, the reason why he was so restless, played back in his mind. People were screaming. There was nothing he could do about it. There was a distorted space in the sky… then that was when he woke up.
“Hmm.” afterward Touma got straight up out of bed to work on breakfast because if there wasn’t any food out on the table before the girl woke up, she’d be snippy.
