Name: Morgan Thrainsson
Age: (Recently turned) 30
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Occupation: Vampire, previously Seclyrian sniffer, blacksmith apprentice

History:
To truly know a man's present, one first must know his past; Morgan Thrainsson's past has indeed affected his present fate. At first, it would seem that Morgan's life was going to be of normality, destined to be a Seclyrian blacksmith, as his father and his father's father. Born and bred for the fires and clanging of the forge, Morgan nothing wanted more and began with much zeal at the age of eleven years old. For six years, he did so, learning the basics to the family secrets, Morgan forged horseshoe and sword, living the simple life that always had made him happy. However, on his eighteenth birthday, the last year of his apprenticeship, his life changed forever.

With a difficult day, a poor excuse of a sword, and a release of frustrated anger later, he had accidentally expelled a blast of flame that incinerated his family's forge and caused a explosion of scalding liquid. Fortunately, he escaped with his life, but not his body; burns covering most of his right torso, arm, and face. However, such an unusual display of magic did not escape the attentions of Seclyrian Army and Morgan was quickly pressed into its service as a sniffer. For eight long years, Morgan's newfound magical abilities were honed, every moment hated, every moment wishing for the simple life of the forge's fires. Tattoos were inscribed and it seemed his life was to be forever a blood hound for the magic fearing Seclyrian Army. But destiny had not forgotten Morgan.

Months of time had been spent, attempting to capture an elusive mage, but to no avail. But none can evade the law for long - before Morgan knew what was happening, he found himself in his old village and had his worst nightmare come true. His one hope, the hope to return to his old life was burnt to a crisp by the user, his childhood friends and family burned alive as the mage was captured, restrained, and burned to the stake by his own flames. However, grief had overcome Morgan. Under the cover of darkness, he deserted.

But destiny continued to beckon.

Under the same moon, stumbling into the darkness, Morgan found himself face to face with a vampire. Blades were drawn, defense was made, a battle for his life ensued. Morgan was overpowered, regardless of the amounts of time the beast had been stabbed. He was drained into unconsciousness, only to awaken with blood soaked clothes stinging open wounds from the vampire's blade. Torturous days followed, as the painful transformation started and completed. Hunger filled Morgan's mind. The pursuit of help became the pursuit of blood - those who he had called comrade quickly fell to his thirst for blood. At the end of the gorging, Morgan realized something: no matter where he went, Death followed, as if waiting for his hand to move and allow another soul to be delivered unto The Wanderer's arms. He was a hand of Death.

He is the hand of Death.

Personality:
Morgan's personality is one of a beast, and one of a man, and a constant struggle happens between them. As a man, Morgan's personality is one of what you would expect from a sniffer. Because of the hardship that he has experienced, the loss of loved ones, and the constant noise in his head, Morgan is undoubtedly cold towards anything with a soul and even colder to things that do not (some groups of people, nationalities, etc. may be considered not to have a soul by his judgement). At times, one would say that he is merely a shell, an automation, rarely speaking to anyone and showing little emotion, However, as a beast, Morgan's emotions are laid bare. Almost a completely different person when under the influence of his primal instincts, not only embracing his emotions, but fully voicing them , All Morgan has been known to give into his beastal side, allowing his pent up, hateful anger to be expelled into berserk rage. This often happens when he has received too many blows and/or is irritated with situation/person.

To him, this world is a mere measurement of survival - anything goes on a moral scale (murder and theft are not uncommon nor are they avoided). That being said, Morgan's humanity does show from time to time, particularly with children or those he deems to be innocent and/or "oppressed" (those who have been drafted, sold into slavery, etc.). Relationship-wise, Morgan does not invest much in them. He will not (and cannot) allow himself to get very close to people. Secretly, he believes he would go over the edge of sanity if he lost some one very close to his heart.

Morgan has no respect for any authority of lord, law, demon, or God; only Death can judge him. He does not trust any of the previously mentioned (except The Wanderer, to whom Morgan believes that his life is dedicated to). This means that soldiers of a nation and "Favored Ones" are often a kill-on-sight, if the opportunity presents itself. As for The Wanderer, Morgan eagerly awaits his offer of peace and eternal rest. Until then, the vampire just as zealously carries out what he believes to be his destiny: to be a ferryman of souls to Death.

As for the rest of him, what can be told? His humor ranges from sarcastic to asshole-ish, he doesn't play very nicely with groups, and he has a lot of hateful anger. A lot of it. But, on the flipside, his locked potential for loving an individual and for giving someone his unbelievably fierce loyalty could make him the best friend/ally anyone could pray for. Befriend him, he could be your greatest defender. Hate him, and he will make a living hell for you.

There is no "in between" for this man - you will either call him a saint, and love him or call him a sinner, and kill him.

Appearance:
At a quick glance, Morgan may seem to be the average human male, standing at the height of 5'10" and weighing in at 147 lbs. of pure muscle. However, look beyond the semi-handsome, long haired and bearded face, and one may see the moon pale skin, crimson eyes (left eye is a deeper shade than the right),and jet black hair. One also might notice how his athletic body moves with the grace of a panther both in gestures and walking/running. As for his burns, thanks to his vampire regenerative factor, they have gradually healed over the years (though there may be small remnants around his neck/shoulder).

As for clothing, Morgan believes in "comfortable, but practical." Dressing in loose robes, a "deep" hood can be found on his person at all times. It is usually around his neck like a scarf if not shielding Morgan from the sun with its thick, woolen material (however, Morgan does have to be careful. Despite its depth, the hood does allow sunlight to peep through, if the right angle is presented). To protect himself further from the sun and harsher weather, Morgan always (or at least attempts to) wear blackened leathered gloves and a hardy charcoal cloak. He also has designed a mask of sorts to help shield his face/eyes from the sun; the metal "shutters" are spaced in such a way to disallow an absolute minimum of sunlight while maximizing his vision (though it is safe to say that his vision is affected by "closed helmet syndrome). The mask complete with a "veil" to loosely cover his exposed neck, made of the same material as his hood, for extra protection against any stray beams of sunlight. His attire's color palette stays true to that of a worshiper of The Wanderer, ranging from charcoal gray, to ink black, and to dark, jaded green (shown in the links).

Also, as a sniffer, Morgan's body is fully covered in tattoos, complete with lines of inscribed runes and arcane symbols. (Morgan has very limited knowledge to what they actually say, let alone what they do).

Weapon(s):
The only weapon (besides a dagger tucked away into the folds of his robe used strictly as a last resort weapon and/or practical usage), is a quarter staff, covered in metal knobs. This staff is reinforced with a metal core, thanks to a steel rod that was inserted into the hollowed staff.

Physical Abilities/Talents:

Beyond what is naturally attained from being a vampire, Morgan has an affinity with blunt objects, particularly with hammers and staves; being an apprentice to a blacksmith and having a father who only knew how to defend himself with a stick will do that to someone. Also, since real-life experience is often a harsh teacher, Morgan has developed his own style of fighting over time, combining his natural agility/strength with some acrobatic maneuvers. This, to some, could seem incredibly unusual and unpredictable. However, give the vampire a bladed weapon or disarm Morgan and his lack of combative training becomes painfully noticeable.

Magical Abilities/Talents:
Adept Sniffer; has learned to block out unwanted ambiences, though not very skilled at it/cannot do it for extended periods of time (hour-two hours at most, depending on fatigue)
Alive and well! (And can't wait to post :3)
