are we from outer space?
this doesn't feel like the right place
and we'll try anything
just to be a kid once again

i'd rather sleep than stay awake

Full Name: Olivia Summers
Nicknames: Static, Summers, Via
Gender: Female

Age: 18
Birthday: January 14th
Astrological Sign: Capricorn

Romantic Preference: Leans towards homosexuality.

Species: Dream Demon
Origin: Earth, where one's appearance is a physical representation of their personality

Reason: With no family to speak of and a notable lack of ambition, Summers has found herself homeless. She just wishes she was eight again, when she didn't have to worry about anything.

Personality: Lazy, capricious, and aimless, Summers has made sleeping into an artform--she can do it whenever and however. Some of her favorite spots include places where it's inconvenient for you. Regardless, she's an easy-going girl who'll be friends with anyone, unless they look down their nose on her, and she's a firm believer in not considering what other's think of your actions; it gets in the way of living. She's highly independent and strangely self-sufficient for someone who's such a duty-shirker. She's prone to falling asleep at inconvenient...ZzZzZzzzzzZzzz
Biography: Born to a sweet-hearted, well-read pharmacist (a minotaur) and a washed-out wannabe rockstar (sort of a squid type creature), the first few years of Summer's life were uneventful and stable. She lived in a two story home in Maine with a medium sized backyard and had a dog named Grover, went to kindergarten through third grade in Wilson Pass Elementary, made a few friends despite being sleepy and kind of a brat--all the normal things you'd expect from a child. Unfortunately, trouble in paradise came in the form of a housefire and her parent passed away, leaving Olivia with a sufficient inheritance but no available relatives.
Bounced around from foster home to foster home for the next decade, Summers developed the concept that if she didn't love and help herself, no one else would. When she turned eighteen, having graduated high school with an impressive 1.5, there were many reasonable options presented to her by the state as to what her next step in life would be, but Summers turned them down. She moved out of her foster parents of two years' little New England house and has been sleeping on an old mattress in an alleyway for the last few nights (and days).
She was taking a walk down 24th when she came across the crossroads, and followed them to the Cafe. Having some money on her and nothing better to do, we approximate with the current state of things.

Other --

  • Her eyes aren't really typical eyes, but more like rounded, old-timey tellies in her head. Usually they display static and colorful lines, but sometimes the image will clear into a pattern, and image, a video, or so on. (x)
  • When she opens her mouth, her tongue seems to be tentacles, and she has sharp, shark-like teeth. (x) (x)
  • Speaks in yellow.

It would be nice to have allies with complementary abilities.

@Saarebas Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. Considering one's an umbrakinetic witch doctor who talks to dead people and the other's a necrokinetic afterlife god, they could be friends?? Maybe?? Or, y'know, Lu could play his slinky voodoo master moves on Demetri until the latter figures out what's going on and has a fit and then plots his revenge for ten years. That could work too.

Heck, part of the reason I was asking Katherin about the roommate thing was me wondering if you'd be up for Lu and Demetri rooming together. I like the idea of an afterlife-themed tagteam.

Also, if there was ever situation where a ghost/zombie/other entity were given a command by both of them, and the commands conflicted, who do you think it'd listen to? Would it just short circuit like a robot given a paradox?
"Tis a mighty fine pleasure to make both of yer's acquaintance. My names Lucien Facilier, but I insist that ya call me Lu."

"I can see why, very well-crafted. What material is that? Demetrios Aïdōnides, but please; Demetri." He gestured towards himself with an open hand, then flicked it over to the Ice Princess. "The lovely Aurora..." He trailed off, unsure of his companion's surname, a flicked a look towards her like, 'Is it Frost or...?'

Now that the other was closer, Demetri was almost sure he sensed something about the other boy, and it didn't have to do with his dress. He smiled amicably, tossed the end of the chair away, and held out a hand--his right, too covered to do any harm but still runed and psychically charged--in hopes that the other would sense something. If he gave a reaction, then the Underworld Prince would know something was up.

"The pleasure is mine."

It would be nice to have allies with complementary abilities.

Saffron

"I believe I heard you drop something unless my ears deceive me."

Saffron leaned heavily on the doorframe and moaned softly at Niall's words. What a pain, to have just made it to the door--she sighed and turned around. Oh yes, there was her notepad, with all the information she'd taken down the previous night. She left her stick leaning against the side of the building to retrieve it.

"Thank you. It's a terrible pain, getting old. At this rate I'll be a crone by thirty." She called over her shoulder to the him.

She gave a curt nod to the alpha pair when she returned, lips a thin line.

"Niall, Aurora. Good morning. Many an apology if I'm interrupting anything--smells heavenly, doesn't it?" The smirk that played across her face was gone as soon as it arrived.

"Not to be blunt, but what is the schedule for today? I was also wondering," She looked to Aurora, "what our kitchen stock consists of. As is, we're fairly healthy, but with the move some of us will be more vulnerable to catching...well, you know. Of particular interest? Fresh basil, watercress, parsley, honey, St. John's Wort tea, and, for purely selfish reasons, any turmeric?"

Pietro

Pietro stepped into the sunlight and stretched, back popping pleasantly. The pack was already toiling away or lost in conversation, the air was warm and crisp, the environment relatively new and unexplored--he couldn't wait until something unfortunate happened.

The young man laughed quietly in spite of himself and noticed Braden, the pack's cattle handler, toiling away on the fence. He approached, hands in pocket, and leaned on the fence where it had been completed moments before.

"I see you're trying to pen up paradise. Want any help with that?" He smiled at the slightly younger man, gasoline blue eyes glinting with humor.

@Grim327
He shrugged his answer. "It is a mystery. We just don't know."

"So, did Ikea overcharge for the electric heaters or something? Usually people don't get that upset with a chair unless it's plugged into an outlet in a state prison and about to send them all the way to Tartarus." He laughed at the broken chair and picked up the frozen half of a leg. He guessed Aurora's powers were still a little unpracticed--he understood that. He fairly certain that if he teleported again, he'd pass out half way there and end up somewhere he didn't want to be...like the girl's bathrooms. That would be hard to explain.

Stretching, Demetri sensed something--someone--that made the hairs on the back of his neck tingle. He turned to the attractive, dread-headed teen who was approaching them, and gave a hesitant smile. Something about this particular character struck a chord with him; maybe it was the black clothing and the skull motif.

"Hey. Nice cufflinks."

@Darcs If and when Dana's accepted, they and Saffron might get along swell considering the resents work for laziness/resents work for disobedience dynamic. It could be an explosive relationship, but then again Saffron could always flirt with them. What'd you think? :9

In other news, here's another character for Aspen to consider:

---moved---
He looked on worriedly as Ved stormed away from the drug tycoon. The last outburst (some parts of which would have been hilarious, if not for the volume) was uncouth but not unprecedented, which meant that he wasn't doing too well if Sucker had to guess. Why did it have to be like this?

On a larger picture, what Cash said didn't matter. It had been an offer that he would've turned down, especially if Ved or Amber or Spencer asked him to. No harm done. Knowing he was overlooking something in that exchange, the thief chewed his lip, unsure of how to articulate what he wanted to say without agitating his elder further. Cash said stupid shit all the time, what was the difference?

"If anybody needs me, I'll be on patrol."

"But--" Ved was gone. He looked back as Cash retreated into his tent, giving an excited Yuki the same firearm he'd offered the boy earlier (and he was happy for her, but Cash didn't look 100% either and that occupied his mind a little more), and then back to where Ved had disappeared when he caught a faint word on the wind that he wouldn't usually repeat unless he was hurt or furious.

The situation made him feel nauseous between the gun waving and the familiarity of it. Yes, arguments within the group broke out frequently and in varying levels of emotion, but there was something about this one that gave him a feeling of Déjà vu--something very old, before he'd been caught raiding their camp and adopted as 'team kid', before heated gang fights and rough play-fighting and stealing money from old biddies, long before any of that.

He ran a hand through his dark, choppily cut hair and kneeled down to rummage through a knapsack, finding that even the bits of actual human sustenance did little to quell his anxiety. Maybe when they were on the move, Amber would have more insight into 'What the Fuck Just Happened' and would share some of her wisdom.

He turned when Yuki shouted their names. "Huh?"

@Rick SanchezThey CAN I chose to take the fairy godmother's daughter. In the movie she was a shy girl amed Jane. Kathein isn't shy or named Jane ;) but if someone wants to use one of the characters I wouldn't mind.

Schweet, how'd you feel about Haku and Chihiro?
"Dark and snow is nice, yes--I'd personally like to live in the sunlight, where it's warm, and not where the water of River Styx condenses on the rocks and drips on your head all day. But y'know, bad eyes. We don't always get what we want." He smiled amicably, jesting, and blinked at the snow in her palm. "Nice powers. Are they insured?"

When Aurora mentioned having to leave, he nodded and waved, smirking at the trail of ice and snow that followed her. The people he'd meet this year would be very interesting, apparently.

When she was gone, he sighed through his nose and put his shades back on, and leaned against a ledge. Maybe she'd be surprised when he beat her there. Maybe he'd meet more interesting specimens.

In a curl of blue smoke and hellfire, he was gone, and looked around the gymnasium.
