Will be out of town tomorrow and on Thursday (GMT+8). Will be doing an excuse for Reina. Our school disallows us to bring gadgets so I won't be able to post. Will try to catch up though!
"Is there something new I could cover? The Wall again? Well, there's nothing really new so I guess that would work..." Reina whispered to herself. Since Periphery was safe, and people were happy with their ruler, there wasn't much news to cover. The construction of The Wall was the only thing that would make a good headline, but that's what she sent two days ago. Reina sighed. "To the wall it is."
"Pendant, check. Camera, check. Good to go." Reina walks her way to work. She does not have any mode of transportation nor does she want to have one because she wants and needs to take pictures on the way. Might get a little scoop. She didn't live far from The Wall though. A 20-30 minute walk would suffice. She purposely chose to rent an apartment near The Wall 'cause she knew she would frequent the place. She visits The Wall almost every other day. She visits so much that the workers and guards know her and don't even bother asking why she's there.
Reina entered The Wall, smiling at the guards, and touched the teleportation sigil that brings her to the top floor, the 173th floor. As usual she saw workers and robots, both working hard to finish yet another floor to add to the already tall wall. She brings out her camera from its bag and starts taking pictures. A quick flying drone passed by with materials to bring to the workers. Reina touches her pendant-sigil and makes the drone stop for a few seconds and presses the shutter button. The drone started flying like nothing happened. "Works like a charm."
Nothing was new. It was the same floor they were working on the last time Reina was there. The, something caught the corner of her eye. There were buzzes and people cramping up on the corner of the wall. "A scoop? Finally." She hastily went to the buzz and saw Dazz and other workers along with one worker who seems to be the center of what was happening. Of course, Reina did nothing but take pictures.
Gotta mark it and make a legend. Ideas for landmarks?
Exactly what I had in mind!
Some questions about Grits. I find them really interesting. They can use magic, you said. How though? Are Grits intelligent? Almost human-like in terms of intelligence? Also, how do Grits look like? I'm pretty sure it varies. You mentioned before they're human-like. How much human-like are they? Do they stand upright, straight, and walk on two legs? Can a Grit be mistaken for a person?
(if you haven't already noticed, i'm really into grits. my character too. they're cool af)
Light blue-silver hair with a small, slender build.
NAME: Reina Lexus
ABSTRACT: Independent Photographer
DETAIL: The Lexus family is a wealthy family, owning the third largest newspaper publishing house (Periphery Gazette). Roman Lexus, Reina's father, was a world-renowned writer and photographer. He was known for his feature articles about the wall. Roman passed his love and talent for photography to his second child, Reina Lexus. Unlike Roman, Reina was only interested in photography. No newspaper, no writing, no publishing, no fame. Reina, being strong-willed and independent, wishes for her father to not care about her a lot. Reina lives in a different house Roman lives in (though Roman lives in a mansion), one she rents. She makes money from the photos she sells to other publishing houses. When her photo doesn't sell, she goes to their own publishing house and sells it there. This, of course, is a rare event, as Reina usually takes pictures of Grits (from the wall) and the wall, two thing most people in Periphery care about. She spends most of her time taking pictures from the wall. She does not fear the Grit as other people do. Rather, she's curious on what they really are.
MAGICAL INVENTORY: Reina carries one sigil that has been passed through different generations of Lexus. Reina considers it a "photographer's best friend". It is able to make a target something monetarily, just enough for a shutter. The sigil is small, around the size of a picture that fits into a pendant. The sigil is also used as a pendant by Reina, always worn around her neck. Additionally, Reina always carries around a camera she uses to take pictures.
