Lucian said It doesn't appear that Pep is planning on doing this. Maybe somebody else should reboot. I would, but I'm already GM-ing a roleplay, and playing in two others.

Maybe iGeorge could do this?
Thundercat said Reboot! Reboot! Reboot!

It sounds like Kage may be running this, unless I'm mistaken. I did send him a link to another similar RP elsewhere to see what he thinks, and while I said we SHOULD NOT steal from them, they have a lot of clearly thought out ideas that could be incorporated. For instance I'd likely be a Jinn in the reboot, which may or may not, have a lot of common with Chinese Immortals.
mattmanganon said I could bring the Trafalgar back and actually do something with them...

We need an Excalibur class ship - that would be awesome, plus one technomage and a psicop would be darn helpful. Multiple modes of FTL would be handy when we actually trust and perhaps decide to trade tech.
I do hope someone takes Babylon 5 stuff.
I'm interested....
What about Elizabeth Shelley's Frankenstein?
As Co-GM I'm going to ask the obvious question, which may help the other players too.

Now in my original I handwaved languages to make communication between players easier, are you doing that here? Or, do you want to go the route of, if for example Trek met nuBSG, they'd find that the latter were speaking some ancient sort of Greek?
mattmanganon said Ummm... That's... Sorry, but the nuTrek technology is broken... I mean, you can now beam across the galaxy, as well as talk with people on the other side of the galaxy with just your little communicators.

Section 31 locked all that away, and is being used covertly - thus would have no impact in this RP. Now while I may well have one Starfleet Intelligence operative aboard, he WILL NOT be Section 31.
Now compared to OTL Trek, tech-of-the-week, which is basically pulled out their rear end is far, far worse - but that is just perceptional really.

mattmanganon said Sorry, but nuTrek doesn't leave a sour taste in my mouth... Buffalo anal evacuation has more of a savoury taste.Honestly, I was tempted to ask if I could bring back Selak and her crew of no-nonsense, 25th Century Romulans.

I'd be inclined to say no as Co-GM, as STO tech is massively overpowered compared to RotS Star Wars tech and would stomp them rather flat. But ultimately I'll let you and Sep discuss that one.

mattmanganon said I suppose that i'll probably go with my Outlaw Star guys.

Never heard of that, sounds interesting.

Click This said Well, technically, you're in the past and I'm from the future... of two seperate universes, and we're both in god knows what Universe from the point of our respective captains... So there might be some opportunity for interpretation of the Temporal Directives.

Well my other choice of canon ship - other than nuTrek (although I am torn between the two) could be an Excalibur class from Babylon 5, which if they worked with Trek could be rather awesome :)

So if you guys really want to reboot it im totally down. message me if your in and if your not i WILL message you lol. I may need some help along the way as well so let me know :)

I will whizz you a PM over tomorrow
Anyone else for a reboot?
Do we want a list of a few core races and some that the players can make themselves? Plus some core ideas on how the world will work?
Sep said Got to remember the new movies are in an alternate timeline. He did that on purpose to distance himself from the current canon which was a smart idea. It isn't like what they are doing to Stargate and giving it a full on reboot (They're making a sequel to the original movie that will overwrite SG-1, Atlantis and Universe).

It is and it was a very smart move to create new canon, and one of the reasons I chose nuTrek is the total lack of technobabble to date - something which drove me nuts in OTL Trek to be honest.

EDIT: And just for something fun: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/The_Q_Gambit,_Part_1

Sep said Also, RogerD. As this concept (Though I'm changing the plot up a bit) was your idea. Want to take second seat? (Co-GM) on it?I know my Sci-Fi but you fill in a lot of blanks and I would value your input.

Surely can sir.
I'll fire you a PM once I remember what my original plot was.

*starts hitting self in head to jog the poor elderly brain cells*

I think what people need to remember, no more Legends canon, so no ICS and to stick to Disney canon - which means movies and Clone Wars CGI. That's the kinda power level you're looking at isn't it?
