There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Personal Profile

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

Aw, that sucks. Was it bad timing or did they just not prioritize it?

Because I'm in the high risk category for Roney, we probably won't do anything too big (unless things change), but we've got a close knit group of friends who are more like family to us that have been very supportive as we've been going through the process of house hunting. They offered to help us move in too, so we want to reward them with a BBQ, since that's what they said they want to do :)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it! Also to having all of our friends over for a housewarming party ^^ They're already hoping we'll throw a BBQ, haha.

The thought of never being alone again resonated strongly with Vail. Even though he’d always lived with the rest of his family, he spent most of his time by himself. Vampires were both familial and solitary creatures. It was an odd dichotomy of their kind. They banded together to form strength in their numbers, but when it came to day-to-day activities, they often preferred to engage in individual hobbies or hunt in seclusion. He was the same way, rarely seeking out the company of his parents or cousins unless he needed something from them. Every once in a while, he got his social fix from attending human events—as he had on the fateful night of her birthday party—but his interest in attending them stemmed from his fascination with their species rather than a need to spend his time in a group setting. He usually kept to himself and observed, only interacting with the partygoers when there was something to be learned, such as when he’d taken an interest in dancing.

However, his isolated past didn’t inhibit him from being drawn to a future with Victoria at his side. She was the only person he actively wanted to be near on a regular basis. He enjoyed his time with his family when they were together as well as with other vampires like Sylvia, with whom he was close enough to relax. However, he didn’t crave their attention and affection like he did with the woman who had just kissed his hand. The bond they were forging was different, stronger in a way that he’d never experienced before. Never being alone again sounded quite appealing when it meant spending the rest of his immortal life with her.

When she questioned him about what she should do, he considered their options quietly. As a born vampire, he was just as clueless about what they should expect as she was in regard to her transformation. He’d read a bit about it in the tome, but there wasn’t very much information beyond the ritual itself, so he genuinely couldn’t say whether it was better for her to get up and adjust to her new life or rest for a while longer.

“If you feel strong enough, you can try to get up soon,” he mused, deciding Victoria would be the best judge of how she was doing. “It would probably be best to keep you away from humans for a while, but there are none in the summer house, so I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t come with me when I check on my family… I’d like you to be there.” Somewhat selfishly, he wanted the rest of his clan—particularly his father—to see that he was just as dedicated to his former human lover as he had been before. He also simply wanted to be next to her after he’d lacked the warmth of her company for the last week. So, if she was able to join him, then he would bring her along on the short trip to the Hygraces’ temporary shelter.
"What's the best RP you've ever been in?"

Definitely my ongoing medieval 1x1 with BuzzingBee. We've been working on the RP for over 5 years, getting close to 3000 posts in the IC and spanning about 2 and a half years in the story's timeline from post one to the current page. It's by far the most complex saga-style story I've ever written with someone, and the characters are near and dear to my heart.

Plus, real friendship has come out of it, since we've been chatting for so long and keep in touch with each other both on and off RPG!

I'm excited to see just how long this story gets before we eventually reach the conclusion. We have a lot planned that hasn't even been touched on yet.
I like that plan! We can go for it :)

I also led a slight intro into when Ethan returns
Caspian could hear the uncertainty in Iris’s voice when she promised him that she would do her best to make it out alive. He knew her safety wasn’t guaranteed just because she had a history as a member of the rebellion, but he at least wanted to know that she wouldn’t give up on getting away if they killed him. If she did her best to run, that was all her could ask of her, so hearing her say that she would try gave him enough peace of mind to relax on the uncomfortable prison bed.

As she pressed a kiss to his forehead, a half smile crossed his lips. It was difficult to feel cheerful in their grim, gray cell, but she still had a way of sparking some happiness inside of him. He was glad that they had managed to stay together in spite of Ethan’s attempts to split them apart. Now, if the rebels did kill him, at least he wouldn’t die in solitude. There was some comfort in that thought even though the rest of the image was intimidating. He wrapped an arm around her midriff to hold her close to himself, closing his eyes and taking solace in her warmth against his aching chest. With her next to him, he managed to drift off into a light nap, giving his wounded body a chance to recover from the trauma that had been inflicted upon him since the first day he’d been abducted from the capital.

--

After a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, Cas stirred at the feeling of Iris twitching and fidgeting against him. He stretched, stiff from lying on solid metal, and blinked his eyes open, slightly disoriented upon waking inside a prison cell. A moment later, he realized that her soft whimpers were what had roused him, and he looked down at her, furrowing his brows with concern. It seemed like she was having a nightmare about something, so he gently stroked her back with his hand, trying to soothe her without waking her up. He didn’t want to cut her rest short if she still needed it. God knew he did.

As soon as he’d resurfaced from unconsciousness, he’d felt the pang of his recent injuries strike again. Breathing was still painful, and every part of him ached. He bit his lower lip to stifle a groan, wishing he had slept more deeply, so he wouldn’t have to endure the soreness for a while longer. Unfortunately, now that he was awake and being terrorized by the fire in all his nerve endings, he couldn’t still himself to fall back asleep. Instead, he laid his head back down on the metal slab with a sigh, studying Iris’s sleeping face quietly. Although she appeared troubled by whatever her imagination had conjured to frighten her, he took idle notice of how beautiful she was. Pink lips, soft face, golden blonde hair that always seemed to frame her cheeks perfectly… He knew he was completely and utterly smitten, and he was sad that their time together was most likely going to be cut short.

Almost as if on command, the sound of footsteps echoing off the corridor beyond their cell caught his attention the instant after the thought crossed his mind. Swallowing nervously, Cas glanced up to see who was coming. Not knowing when the rebels planned to kill him was stressful. All he could do was pray for the best and brace himself for the worst as the person beyond the wall came closer.

Thanks! We’re really excited because the place we found checks every box on our wishlist, and the seller just accepted our offer today ^^ As long as nothing terrible comes up during the inspection, we should get it!
We can go with Cas getting shot in the leg. That would also make it more difficult for them to get back, because he wouldn't be able to move quickly.

And yeah, it just feels like it flows better if they overhear a conversation at or near the prison, rather than making an entire separate detour for that part. Cas would be inclined to make a beeline for the capital from there, since he'll realize what had happened.
Yeah, the bank wouldn't let us move that fast, even if we wanted to xD One month before closing is pretty standard for them.

It would be. I could see Atlas giving that order before Cas has a chance to plead with him for her release.

And he really has. I could even see Ethan shooting him somewhere nonlethal, since he's got a gun.
When they get to the capital, it'll be the opposite, since Iris will be the prisoner that time.

I also had a thought. Maybe either instead of or in addition to Iris's ally, the military raids the prison? That could be a way for Cas and Iris to escape. They would slip out while everyone is running around, trying to fight or get away from the soldiers. The ally could unlock the cell for them during the commotion!
No, haha. That's just the inspection period. It's the time we have to find out if there's a reason we would need to back out of the contract. The official closing date is in July, so it's a while away! Also, we have the budget to do a couple small remodels in the bathrooms and kitchen, so we might not be moving in until even later than that, so we can have all the work done before we start putting in furniture :)

Yeah, I can imagine Cas is going to be frustrated when he's forcibly separated from Iris. He'd want to leave the hospital as soon as possible to get to her, even though his father and/or the doctors might want him to stay put to recover first.

I will! As of right now, I'd just say nothing fatal (obviously) and nothing permanent (i.e: loss of limb or something that would cause blindness or anything like that). I can't think of anything else that would be off limits
