There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Personal Profile

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

About 5 years ago, I used to compose music and actually sold one album of contemporary piano pieces I'd written. It's something I want to get into as a side-gig in the near future when I have time to sit down and play again.

Azdrei’in wasn’t fazed by Artemis’s anger. He wasn’t protecting her to win her approval. His commander had given him an order, and he was going to follow it no matter what she thought. That meant being prepared to eliminate a threat the instant it proved to be dangerous to her, since his people needed her alive if they were going to use the information she could provide to them. They couldn’t extract it if she was dead. As advanced as their technology was, they hadn’t created anything like that. So, even after he lowered his weapon, he gripped it tensely and kept his gaze fixed on the adolescent human, prepared to strike first if it even twitched in a way that he didn’t like.

At her instructions, he nearly rolled his eyes. Of course he wasn’t going to stay put where he was now. If she was going somewhere else with the other human, he was going to at least stay close by. At this point, he felt more confident that the young Earthling wasn’t a threat—he was just frightened, as Artemis had said—but that didn’t mean he couldn’t become one. Scared, trapped animals were often the most dangerous because they felt the need to protect their own lives. He intended to remain close enough to them to intervene if the male suddenly snapped and tried to attack her. It may have been an unlikely scenario, but as long as the chances weren’t zero, he would keep his guard up.

“I will come with you,” he asserted, holstering his gun for the time being to avoid worrying the other human. A compromise seemed to have been made, so when they started walking through the brush, he trailed after them at a slight distance. Once again, he found his experience on the Earth strange compared to his previous expectations. Rather than clearing the planet in preparation for his people to land, he was now wandering through fields of crops in the company of two humans, one of whom had been charged to his protection. He shook his head incredulously to himself, brushing aside some tall stalks of plants with one arm. It was strange, but he couldn’t say he was disappointed. He’d wanted to learn about Earthlings and their culture even before he’d left the mothership. That desire had been met in a peculiar way, but it had been met nonetheless.

When they reached a barrier, he stopped and glanced at the young male wordlessly. He didn’t understand his aversion to allowing him come any further. If he’d wanted to mindlessly kill him or even the other creature, whom he could detect inside the building ahead of them, he could have done so in a heartbeat. He then turned to Artemis, who had remained behind to ask him a question. “Heal? No,” he mused. “That is on the spaceship.” If she was asking him for technology that could be used to speed up the recovery process, he didn’t carry anything around like that. Only the physicians had access and knowledge to use medications and tools that could aid an injured person. He did “have” something else though.

“I can help with this,” he added. Unable to explain what he meant, he reached out to touch Artemis’s arm in a demonstration. Instead of sharing a mental image with her like he had before, he impressed an almost numbing sense of calm. The connection worked in a similar manner as anesthesia without causing the recipient to fall asleep. Most creatures experienced a relaxing chemical release from physical touch, and the Lunvalgan people had learned to amplify its effects to create a natural pain-killer that they used to aid one another when they were injured.

“But I have to be close to do this,” he warned her, letting go of her arm again. As soon as he stopped touching her, the effect ended. “If you need my help, I will have to come inside.”
That’s okay! Health is more important ^^
I hope you have a good time with your friends today!

And that works for me!
Nice! That sounds like fun.

And I'm good either way! I might want to include some stuff from Jacob's POV during the night. Not totally sure yet, but if you want to write anything for any other characters, I have content I could include
That's understandable. Hopefully things calm down for you soon!

And I'm thinking that we could probably skip to the next day in a few more posts. After Cas and Iris eat their food, they'll probably be pretty one-track-minded for the evening xD At least Cas will be, since he's very much enjoying their privacy at the hotel.
“I can promise you that I’ll never subject you to that poison again,” Caspian laughed when Iris brought up the vodka they’d had at Miles’ place. “This wine can’t be more than thirty proof, and I’m pretty sure it’s not even that strong.” He liked to drink and party with his friends, so he had at least a partial tolerance to strong liquor, but even he’d thought that bottle of vodka that Miles’ parents had brought home from their trip was ridiculously potent. It had burned his throat going down and tasted like rubbing alcohol. If he was going to get drunk, he preferred to at least somewhat enjoy the taste of the liquor he’d chosen to drink. Anything over eighty proof was just torturous.

Once she’d added her empty plate to the cart, he wheeled it back to the front door and carefully pushed it out into the hallway, angling his body behind the panel to stay mostly out of sight in case anyone was in the corridor. Usually there were housekeeping teams that would come into the suites to clean up any messes, but he’d given the resort instructions to leave their room untouched until after he checked out. The less people knew he was staying there, the better, so he didn’t want to stumble into a maid who had stopped in the tidy up the living room in the morning. Plus, he needed to keep it a secret that Iris was with him, since she was still wanted.

With the cart removed from the suite, he ambled back over to the table just as Iris got up from her seat. A smile played on his lip, and he laced his fingers with hers, following her over to the sofa. It was obvious to him that she was feeling much more relaxed and free to be herself while it was just the two of them. When they’d been on the run and when she’d been staying with his friend, her smiles had mostly seemed forced or fake. Now, every time she lit up, he was elated to see that she looked genuinely happy. He only hoped the positive change to her mood would be long-lasting, even after they had to leave the Sunset Veil.

“My attention is all yours as long as we’re here,” he told her sincerely, sitting down next to her on the couch. When they were off their feet, he let go of her hand to wrap his arm around her waist, tucking her against his side. “Well, I know what I want to do, but I have a feeling we’ll just get interrupted again,” he said playfully, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “And it was okay to let our dinner go cold, but molten chocolate cakes taste the best when they’re still hot. As gorgeous as you look in that dress—and out of it—I’ll be damned if I don’t eat my piece as soon as it’s delivered to our door.”

Leaning forward, Cas scooped the TV remote off the coffee table and then sank into the plush backrest as he turned the flat screen on. “Do you want to watch anything?” he asked. “We’ve got pretty much any movie on demand here as long as it isn’t still in the theater.” He doubted they would make it through an entire two-hour show, but they hadn’t seen a movie together in so long that he thought it could be fun for them to put something on even if it would just turn into background noise after they finished their desserts.
Poor guy has no idea Alex has no intention of going home with him xD

I'm excited for when Daniel meets Matt and finds out she's not at all who she says she is.
Also the start of them trying to manipulate each other will be so fun cx
Alex loved it when guys took the easy bait. She’d been ready and willing to chat Daniel up a little more before she started throwing out some hints that she was hungry, but apparently just the mention of food had been enough to get him to invite her to a restaurant. As she flashed him another perfected smile, she could already taste the fresh, hot, top-of-the-line dinner that she would most assuredly be ordering no matter how expensive it was. She had to take her reward for putting this much effort into one meal, after all.

“Well, I’d hope so or I’d be a disgrace to all foodies everywhere,” she announced jokingly. In truth, she couldn’t really claim to have ‘good taste’ though. For as much as she loved the gourmet dinners she swindled out of rich, optimistic bachelors, she would take something found in a questionable dumpster just as eagerly. Anything to avoid risking an encounter with NYPD, really. So, when Daniel asked if she’d rather join him at 212 Steakhouse or keep pounding drinks at the bar, she didn’t even hesitate before her smile broadened into a grin.

“Well, I haven’t had dinner yet and all this talk about steak has got me hungry too, so what the hell? I’m up for a last minute adventure,” she said decidedly, taking one step away from the counter. Now that she had a date, she needed to let Caden and Whitney know that she was leaving, so she posed a quick distraction to her newest benefactor: “Don’t forget to close out your tab before we go anywhere. I’ve done that before, and coming back to a bar the next morning to get your credit card is its own walk of shame.”

With the lie, she subtly glanced around Daniel to locate Caden in his booth across the bar. Her friend was already keeping an eye on them, so all it took was a slight tilt of her head toward Daniel and a wink to let her homeless friend know that she’d cast out her line and gotten a bite. He nodded back to her and then quietly glanced at Whitney. Alex followed his gaze to update her redhead friend on her plan too, but as soon as she saw her, she could tell there was no point in even trying. Whitney and her beau for the night already had their tongues down each other’s throats, oblivious to everyone else around them as they made out away from the counter.

Alex shook her head amusedly and turned back to Daniel. They could just fill Whitney in when she came back to the construction site in the morning. “Looks like our friends hit it off,” she noted with a giggle, bringing his attention to the very entangled couple if he hadn’t seen them already. “We should probably get out of here. I can’t tell if they know they’re still in public, and I’d rather not be here to find out if they forgot.”
Yeah, I think everyone else is more stressed than I am, haha. I'm just getting done what I can right now. I mostly feel bad for our contractor because he had to drop the project because his house burned down. It was pretty terrible.

And everything else is going well in general. We're starting to get a little closer to what life was like before the pandemic, with the exception of traveling anywhere fun.

How have you been?
