As the button was pressed down, a small gem would appear the center of the table as if by some sort of magic - it would float in the center ... doing nothing?

However, Izzy would notice that when a sound happened - a shifting of clothes, the subtle clanking of her guards armor - the stone would glow slightly brighter before calming down once again.

What would Izzy do?
Neriad listened to Rys' awkwardness, laughing as she also called him 'little shit'. "I come from the Kingdom of Judea - one of the two Hebrew monarchies. I left a while back however to pick up the life of a mercenary." The Hebrew found it a little surprising that the Egypt obsessed pirate didn't know about his homeland. "I'm assuming you've heard about Moses, at least?"
If Rys isn't going to do anything I'll skip to the next event.
Amen looked over at the younger Rys, frowning slightly. "It is either a beating with the stave or cutting with a sword - I'll take the stave personally, even though Neriad is a little shit." The captain glared over at the member of his crew, who returned a slightly cocky smirk. "Well, I'm turning in. Someone arrange a watch."

With that, the captain turned over right where he was and fell asleep with a near comic amount of speed.
The table would for a moment activate - a light would shine on the center of the table, and after going in a circle a couple of times dissipated. An unpleasant erZKZZKZK happened as whatever magic made the table work seemed to a have failed. A couple of seconds later a pictograph lit up elsewhere on the table - displaying a stone much like the glowing ones resting on the tables edges being placed in the center. A couple musical notes seemed to surround the table in the blue pictograph.
As the party proceeded to move along the shelves, they would see various books lining the wood - the vast majority of the books seemed to be preserved perfectly, as if they were only a couple of years old at most. Izzy would see a small collection of books in front of her - one in a thick, leather tome with a dragon on the front. Another was a small volume, the cover seeming fairly simple and having no writing whatsoever. A third had the image of a lady sitting one a stone in a pool of water, with a shackled ankle attached to a chain that lied beneath.

To her left Izzy would see into a room containing various instruments of the finest quality - the chamber also had a large table in the center, with various small glowing stones surrounding it. One the table were two things that looked like buttons, one of which was blue and another green.

What would Izzy and companions do?
The sound behind them seemed to die down as they continued down the hallway, although the eerie not-wind and shadows continued to look them over. One of the shadows even seemed to form a somewhat friendly face and looked over the party in a surprisingly friendly manner. The next room they would find themselves in was large - a library, a massive storage of knowledge. The entire place was split into two levels, with a large hole cut into the center of the second floor to look down onto a large, glowing gem. Around the hole and the gem were shelves of tablets, books in pristine condition, and even a couple well-maintained pictures. There were a couple rooms that seemed to jut off on each side of the second story of the library, although the party wouldn't be able to see what was in them. At the end of each bookcase was a large statue, looking over the area as if protecting it. Some of the shadows seemed to enter and leave the books rapidly.

The party found themselves standing on the second floor, ahead of them a pillar raised flat to about chest height with an inscription on it and an extended hand. Directly beyond that was the large balcony that looked down.
Rys was naturally skilled - Neriad had to give them that. However, there were only some things professional training a years of experience could teach a warrior. The shot to the armpit was blocked with a little difficulty, and the follow up would find itself swatted out of the way with little effort. The warrior proceeded to use his feet to maneuver himself to the girl's right before tapping them on the thigh - with some force, not enough to leave a bruise - clearly indicating that he was the winner.

"Good try - Sand was fun, but your footwork leaves a bit to be worked on."

As if nothing had happened, Neriad walked to return to the campfire where a series of disappointing and sympathetic looks traveled through the party. Amen had been wiser than to get his hopes up though - there was little that seemed to be able to overcome this professional warrior.

"Nice try."
Will do posts tonight
The three of them began to move towards the lit corner, the movements flickering back before disappearing once again. They'd find themselves looking down a long, declining hallway whose walls seemed to be lit ominously from an undetectable source. Valora would see that at the end of the hallway there was what appeared to be a large room ahead, but it was impossible to make out any details due to the incline.

The party would see the ground ahead of the next corner begin the move with shadows as well, one transforming into a hideous face dominated by teeth laughing. Another one whisped away past them, turning around and around. The faint sound of wind would be heard from all of their ears, though no feeling would pass over their flesh.

Izzy would hear something shifting behind the party, either in the kitchen or beyond it. Would the three of them press on or investigate the sound?
