My interest can be short lived. Slow moving stories do not last long with me.

The journey had been a quiet one, for Silver at least. Brutus, the other District 2 tribute, was ready to get back in the arena. Every day he spoke of his eagerness and couldn’t wait to give the Capitol a show. Silver had nothing but sheer hatred for the Capitol, and somehow she hoped to sabotage their games. She was very influential amongst the Tributes. Being one of the most deadly Victors ever, she could only hope something would happen. They had watched the reaping’s, and Silver saw many she knew well called up. There were a few Volunteers, and the love story of 12 continued as Peeta volunteered to re-enter with his beloved Katniss. Silver didn’t buy it, but to be honest after her brother had died she had become cynical of everything. She was forced to relive that as well, and every year she had that forced in her face. Silver soon stopped watching all airings and kept being in company only to meal times. The food was still exquisite, and there was a large platter of her favourite beef and onion dish, but she really did not have much of an appetite. How could she? She was brooding all the way to the Capitol, ignoring everyone.

“Silver, they’re going to want to see the ‘Deadly Dancer’” Lyme said to her, a commander back in 2 and also one of the mentors.
“They can stick the ‘Deadly Dancer’ up their ass” Silver hissed back, as the train rolled into the station, and she saw masses of people calling for their tributes. “These games are farce… We were promised a life if we won” She shook her head, resisting the urge to flip off those that called out. “Now we’re being pushed back in because Snow isn’t happy with her from 12 and the sparks of rebellion!”
“Where did you get that from?” Lyme said, after a moment’s pause, looking anxious and impressed.
“I’m not just a pretty face who is good with blades” Silver stated, before storming out of her compartment. She joined with Brutus and left the train, and she ignored everyone and entered into the back of the truck.

Everything happened quickly, and they would have to ready for the opening ceremony quickly. After last year’s performance by the stylists of 12, they were going all out. Not that anyone really could match! District 2 was known for their masonry, but the stylists also wanted to portray how dangerous Brutus and Silver were. The pair of them was dressed in Gladiatorial fashion, with dynamic make up for her. She looked at herself in the mirror and she curled her lip; she thought she looked garish! However a wolf whistle sounded behind her, and Silver turned in a whirl of curls. She smiled as Finnick moved towards them. Now, she and Finnick had both fallen victim in more ways than one, being sold at will to the men and women of the Capitol. They had grown close to one another whilst being used by many. “Lady Vipointe” Said Finnick with a smile, encasing her in his arms.
“Odair” She replied, hugging him back. She would be sad to see Finnick go, he had become a friend in darkened times. “Here we are again” She said to him, as she stepped back.
“Yep… Only on the other side” He added sadly.

Frustrating was an understatement, and he knew he couldn’t rely on anyone here. His partner in the games was an addict, and his mentors were addicts. He despised Morphling, it destroyed all it touched. So Kaygo took it upon himself to educate himself, to learn who his opponents would be and what he would be up against. He knew most of them, and there were some who were more infamous than some. Then of course there was Katniss and Peeta, the newest additions to the Victor clan. Kaygo sighed, was their love real? Could someone be so completely in love with someone that they couldn’t live without them? Kaygo had never seen that sort of love before, not even from a parental part. His mother was dying and his father an addict and poisoned by toxic fumes. He could suppose he loved his brothers, his oldest one especially. They had trained hard since they were young; helping each other in combat should they ever be reaped. And of course, Kaygo had been repeaed, winning by using the skills he and his brother had taught one another. He knew now though, that he wouldn’t be as lucky as to survive by hanging from a tree. He was up against previous winners, deadly ones too! At least his family would live in comfort in the Victors village. Or would they be evicted? He felt sick at the thought and tried not to think on it.

As they pulled into the Capitol, his mentor came to him. “Uncle” Kaygo said, trying not to look at the sunken black eyes that always held horrors.
“Find Haymitch” He said in a jittery manner, as the doors slid open.
“Why?” He asked. Why would he want to find that drunk?
“Just find him” His uncle said with a nod, as Kaygo walked off the train with Lerol.

Walking down into the underground room, where the victors all stood talking and joking amongst one another. They were all dressed in their costumes, and some were gaudy. But Kaygo looked down to his own suit. It was dark grey, with moving vehicles roaming around the costume, with a grey head piece. He looked around searching for Haymitch and he saw the man talking with Chaff. Kaygo walked over and he excused himself. “My Uncle told me to find you” Kaygo said, and Haymitch looked around before he walked to the side with Kaygo. And indeed what he said definitely peeked his interest.
How about them all arriving at the Capitol?

SILVER VIPOINTE

DISTRICT TWO - MASONRY

21

... winner of the 69th Hunger Games ...

Silver is a Hunger Games Victor from District 2, having won the 69th Hunger Games at the age of 15. Her name was announced at the reaping for the Quarter Quell, and she had asked all other female victors not to volunteer for her if she was chosen.

Her mother works within the ‘Nut’ as a commander among the militant ranks, a severe and cruel woman she pushed Silver to be as barbaric and brutal as she could be. And her father trained Peacekeepers, and he was perhaps more cruel. They are proud to be in the Capitol’s pockets and believe it is a greatest honour to have a Victor as a daughter. Silver had a younger brother named Cobalt, and she adored him. He was reaped the following year and was slaughtered in the arena in a most haunting way, and each year Silver is forced to relive the graphic killing of her 13 year old brother. And it has started a serious unrest inside. And it is for that reason Silver yearns for the downfall of the Capitol. As for her parents, they are ashamed of young Cobalt and have since denied that he ever existed. For Silver, there is no one in two that she holds dear anymore.

Silver won her Hunger Games by her talent with blades and her incredible speed and agility. She was part of the career pack and claimed eight kills in the arena, including the other three of the Career pack. She was admired for her svelte movements, and was labelled as a ‘dancer’ for the way she seemed to move when killing. From then on, Silver has never been the same. She matured very quickly, had to grow up quickly. She was originally proud to be a Victor, until her young brother was reaped and no one volunteered, then when he was killed, her allegiance changed.

For mentoring your brother for a fight to the death is enough to change anybody.

KAYGO OTTER

DISTRICT 6 - TRANSPORTATION

19

... winner of the 71st Hunger Games

Kaygo is a Victor from District 6, having won the games the day before his 15th birthday. He volunteered at the reaping, to save his morphling addicted Uncle when his name was called.

Kaygo is the third of four boys, but has always been independent of the others. From a young age, he and his eldest brother would train illegally, and learn to fight should they ever be reaped. He was raised to work in the baggage handling, and from this he gained some real strength. He has incredible upper body strength and it was this that led him to win his games. His mother is very sickly, having inhaled so many fumes over the years she has taken to her bed. Kaygo and his brothers work hard to provide everything, as his father is, like a lot of the District 6 inhabbitants, a Morphling addict. His uncle was the winner of the 58th Hunger Games, and ever since has battled with the addiction, trying to forget what had occurred in the arena. His father took to the painkiller when Kaygo was reaped and entered the Games. Kaygo has a very unstable relationship with his father because of this.

Kaygo was at a disadvantage in the games as he had no experience with weapons. But his strength worked to his advantage, and he killed two tributes by crushing them with large boulders. Another he killed in a fist fight, before the Game makers decided to turn the arena into an inferno. They made a volcano errupt, and Kaygo was able to climb to a tree and hang there for a long time, whilst the remaining Tributes died in the attack. When the wave of lava passed, Kaygo jumped to floor and listened to the cannon's. But his final image of the arena was of one Tribute running and screaming, her skin aflame and melting before dying at his feet.

The Lady Catherine Howard

She is a pretty young creature, with wit enough to do as badly as the others if she were to try

Catherine Howard is the Daughter of Lord Edmund Howard, Neice to the Duke of Norfolk Thomas Howard, and The Lady Elizabeth Howard; thus the first cousin to Queen Anne.

Catherine was born in Lambeth to Edmund Howard and Joyce Culpeper, and given her family name she was of Aristocratic Pedigree. But her Father was not wealthy owing to Primogeniture and his large birth family (being one of 21) he was one of the poorer Howard’s. When her father married Catherine's mother she already had five children from her first husband and went on to have another six, Catherine being about her tenth child. As a result, her father was often reduced to begging for handouts from his more affluent relatives. In 1531, he was appointed Controller of Calais.
After the death of her mother during her early childhood, Catherine was sent to live in the household of her step-grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Norfolk. The Dowager Duchess presided over households at Chesworth House, near Horsham, and Norfolk House, at Lambeth, comprising numerous male and female attendants along with her many wards, usually the children of aristocratic but poor relatives. While sending young children to be educated and trained in aristocratic households other than their own was common for centuries among European nobles, supervision at both Chesworth House and Lambeth was lax. The Dowager Duchess was often at Court and seems to have had little direct involvement in the upbringing of her wards and young female attendants.

As a result of the Dowager Duchess’s lack of attention, the Wards of her household were not always the best behaved, with many becoming sexually adventurous and acting in appropriately with one another. Many pursued Catherine, including the music teacher Henry Mannox, the Duchess’s secretary Francis Dereham and many other Wards. Catherine was a flirty youth, and much full of life she would find her attention wandering when she was a study, and would often make jokes.

When Queen Anne’s relationship with the King began to take a turn, the Duke of Norfolk (not wanting to lose his families position within the court and to keep their influence) went to Lambeth and called his niece to Court to be one of the Queens ladies, but more so to tempt the King and keep in his favour. It worked, and King Henry bestowed gifts, land and cloth upon Catherine. She gained quite the attention, being young and frivolous, loving the lavish feasts at Court. It angered her cousin, but Catherine spurred the Kings Advances, preferring herself one of his courtier’s, Thomas Culpeper. But King Henry, a competitive man, stole away Culpeper on his campaign in France, parting the young lovers.

Catherine was a lively spirit, deemed sunny and beautiful by the court. French ambassador Charles De Marillac said “A young lady of extraordinary beauty and superlative grace” Some may deem her as an empty headed foolish girl, with a favour for only dancing and merry making, and there is a certain amount of truth to that. But under the guidance and from watching her cousin closely, Catherine is not the fool. Many people trust a girl with a pretty smile and flamboyant air, what harm could she be? But the stark contrast in personalities between her and her cousin the Queen, people forget the Howard and Boelyn tie.

Catherine is skilled in matters of the arts. She can sing and dance well, and has a love for poetry and painting. She is also very skilled in cards and horse riding, and loves hunting. She was raised a Catholic, but Catherine is not devout, and she often says “I speak so little to god he would not know who I am”.
