English born, her heritage has brought her new found fame amongst the student body. A non-conformer to American stereotypes, the blonde is incredibly outgoing and confident, with a real sassy edge that keeps people on the intrigued.
Quaterback, track-superstar and all around Mr Popular, Joey is never short of female attention or party invites. He is confident, cheeky and just oozes charisma. He is currently playing host to 'little miss England'.
Amanda, she is friend to all and keeps a strict rule that she will never belong to a clique. Quite mature for her age she ends up a mother figure amongst friends and is generally too nice to dislike.
He hates mainstream, music comes from the heart and soul for this little rock enthusiast. But his love of performing and hopes to get his talent heard urges him into the forbidden. A little shy, people are put off by the black, but a nice heart rests within.
The right arm to Mr Popular, Bryce is no less smooth or charismatic. But forever in second place, the comedian footballer is just looking for his time to shine, and to walk free of his friends shadow.
Every school has that token weirdo, and Molly Herald is just that. Eccentric, earthy and with a peculiar taste in fashion and accessories, people are often a little cautious around this bundle of oddness.
I am torn between three characters and their backgrounds, all I've decided on for sure is their prowess with a bow. I am on night duty again tonight so will hopefully try to narrow it down a little.
Will be happy to provide more information in the OOC. I shall get to work on one once my son is in bed and I've cleaned up. But I can tell you that 'survive' means not only the terrain, but also each other, survivor groups, and much more. I have a few ideas up my sleeve but they will remain secret until I decide to to make it difficult for our characters.
I am not going to write out an elaborate plot for this, as the basics for this are very simple. This will be a role-play involving the students who attended Hogwarts under the reign of Severus Snape. Dumbledore is dead, Voldemort is at large, and muggle-borns are forced into hiding. I have included in the spoiler a brief round-up of what Hogwarts was like 1997-1998.
Should this gain enough interest, I will do a class schedule for all year groups to follow, list rules from the Carrow POV and new Ministry guidelines. Just basically provide a lot more information.
Some rules that need adhering too.
01. We will be playing as the students who attend the school under the new regime, so there can be no muggle-born students I am afraid. 02. All houses are welcome, but there will be no Slytherin students in the DA, as keeping with the books. 03. Ideally I would like for everyone to play original characters. Canon characters are going to be kept as puppets and open for everyone to play if and when they should need them. However, be sure to keep the canon true to their character. 04. No Metamorphmai, half-breeds (Veela, etc), werewolves or anything like that. I’m sorry but I would like all students/characters to be kept on the same level. 05. I will be placing a three paragraph minimum per post. I have placed this in casual, but would like to keep the standards of the role-play at a higher level. Use word to double check your posts. 06. Third person, past tense only. 07. Nothing anime, emo, scene, cartoon like at all. All pictures must be life photography. 08. I am more than happy for people to have multiple characters, so long as you can keep up with them. I myself will be playing two characters and puppet the teachers and what not. 09. I am looking for a co-GM, and you must know the books before taking that role, and be happy to help me play out the Carrows, Snape and so forth.
Snape becomes Headmaster, as announced in the Daily Prophet on the first of September. Alecto Carrow becomes the new Muggle Studies teacher, and her brother Amycus becomes the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher - both become Deputy Headmasters under Snape. Slughorn becomes the Head of Slytherin House and continued to teach Potions. Attendance at Hogwarts becomes mandatory for all appropriately-aged children who could prove their blood status. No Muggle-borns were able to attend the school, and only half-bloods with proof of their magical heritage are able to attend.
Muggle Studies becomes a required class and educates students about how Muggles are filth. The class teaches straight from the Ministry's anti-Muggle propaganda. Defence Against the Dark Arts is renamed Dark Arts. The schools set curriculum has changed to include the unforgivable curses and more brutal hexes, the seventh-years are even told to practice the Cruciatus curse on students in detention.
The Carrows are also in charge of punishment of students, though most staff avoid reporting rule-breaking. The punishments for rule-breaking are cruel and varied, and include: the Cruciatus Curse, chaining students in the Great Hall, and physical corporal punishment with beatings and knives.
Dumbledore's Army continues to operate under the leadership of Neville, Ginny, and Luna. The DA rebel against the Death Eaters by refusing to practice the Dark Arts, standing up to the Carrows, and sneaking out to write rebellious graffiti on the walls. At one point in the spring, Neville, fearing for his life, flees to the Room of Requirement and remains there. The passage to the Hog's Head appears to Neville and the students when they get hungry, because the Room cannot produce food. The Room expands and creates hammocks to sleep in and washing facilities as more DA members come to live there. The emblems of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepluff are present in the Room, but not Slytherin, implying heavily that there are no Slytherin DA members.
