[@Rumpelstiltskin] definitely a question for Xodus since linked/unlinked only becomes more relevant in later chapters. From our discussion, Xodus has a concept going. :D

And oooo, black girl! Like American black?

Hmm.. what images, behaviors, and ideas pop into your head when you say American black?

Just curious as Smokini's father was black and American, but her mother was Israeli, which adds some beige to her. So she would actually be mulatto, I think? In any case, if any of you have any input on that kind of character, let me know, as I would definitely consider it along with my own research.

Her father, Ethaniel Baine was your, I guess, typical alpha-male black guy with cornrows, always something to say, and a sweet spot for the ladies. His gender was written: very male. Or something like that. Imagine if a fusion of Riddick and Samuel L. Jackson's character from Pulp Fiction was blind and even more wildly ornery when you least expect it.

Well, not really blind. He had a very unique pair of ocular implants that rendered everyone as red wire-framed humanoid models, could see through walls, and such. But he wore a blindfold over that since scary Terminator eyes would really blow a covert agent's cover... unless it was Halloween or something. But he was constantly having to prove his worth to AMRO because he was a liability.

So, back to the kids: of course, when it comes to AMRO, asylums aren't allowed to marry, have kids, or anything normal like that. Lots of sex, though. That's a given. I mean, it lightens their budget on stress-relieving drugs, but yeaaaah.... And Ethan and Ilana (his partner) weren't exactly to-the-letter asylums, but they got things done when nobody else could and both were over 30 years of age.

Most asylums don't get that many birthdays... but yeah, still remember some subplots for them, too. Man... I guess if it the child/protege link to them won't work for Smokini and Malthier, I could bring back Ethan and Ilana. I do believe that both of their Alch-Specs remain unspoken for. =) Not sure about asylum codes though.

Except Ethan's. I know nobody ain't got his number. It was 6 digits long. LMAO.

Look at how fantastic all that pink looks in the IC.

You guys all love it, I can tell.

I find pank to be the most delicious and sensual of all colors in any shape or form.

Unless it's a plant. No thank you. Not interested in poisonous make-outs.

Read through most of the OOC, looking for what I call Xo Insights. Basically extra information that clarifies things. Very, very interesting. ^^

And y'all so funny, too.

@xodus where art thou? I've made a barebones CS to give the general gist of what I'm going for. Would like to show you and Ryver it before I progress too far and wind up having to change things due to things I didn't know >.<

But here's a teaser for the rest of you:

A black gal known as Smokini (a reference to Houdini), and yes, her alch-spec is smoke. She's a Hybrid. And her "unofficial" partner is a stoic Korean man named Malthier Deatreubenni. A Sniffer and very good at disguises. His alch-spec is Thread alchemy (you know, like strings) and while he ain't no Silencer, it has uses both in combat and outside.

One nugget from their bio is that they were both put through the linking process but it started to fail for some reason, off and on. And then finally it just stayed off. I know Unlinkeds are sent on solo missions, but the idea is that AMRO regards them as an experimental study, and so they keep sending them/will send them on missions that might kill them (being a "liability" and all) or it might jump-start their linkage so they can finally be actual Asylum and provide information for future cases that encounter this problem.

Either way, it's a win-win for the Director. ;)

But yes, I'm just toying with the idea. I don't know if this link-breaking phenomena goes against canon or undisclosed plot material. I'm certainly not married to it. I am prepared to play the dirge. I just think it would pit them mercilessly in middle of the huge discriminatory war I sense brewing between Asylums and Unlinkeds, and would shine an interesting light on everything to make people question what they believe about that hot topic.

Ah thank you for the warm welcome, Ryver! I'll get started on a barebones CS today and submit it to you two.

Indeed. Xodus always has plans... ^^

I see... interesting.

Well, damn. Apologies for that.

EDIT: Yes, I agree. But I do remember a 'Grif'. Glad to see you in any case. =)

Hmm... another old memory: Vicious Attrition (team title)... ring a bell anyone?

Oh, Grif... I remember you now! And Alistair. He had pain alch-spec before, I think? Hmm.... ^^;

<Snipped quote by Rumplestiltskin>

Nah, I can't start a meme war...yet. You aren't even in the RP right now, so I can't just drag you into a long, drawn out conflict that inevitably ends in your defeat! :P

Not a hodgepodge, unfortunately (or should I say fortunately?). They're kind of the guides for the wee puppies. In their Essence they're guides, and slightly their Guardians. Not nearly as snobby as some guardians can be of course.

It would be quite the pyrrhic victory for you, my lord. ^^;

Ah I see. That's pretty cool. Welp, hopefully Xodus recognizes who I am. Not that I expect special treatment, I'm just familiar with a lot of his sweet material. Mostly looking for new things to watch out for. But yeah, just had to retire the old account. Too much... unnecessary stigma.

I'm glad to see he has a CO-GM though. Chrono Asylum is a tough RP. Just keeps coming back like a happy virus. =) It was also my first RP when I came to the guild, and Xodus plucked me out of the cardboard box and gave me a new home.

I do, I do. Thank heavens, thought I accidentally started a meme war with you...

But anyway! An Invilgator? What the hell is that?? Knowing Xodus, let me ask, is it some kind of alchemic... chimera? A real hodgepodge of nasty nightmares that dine on the dogs of AMRO, especially the tasty wee puppies on Innocence Island?

^__^

Hello, Rtron. It seems like you're having too much fun here, dearie.

Long time no see, XoXo. I hope you're doing well, and accident free, too. ^^;

I see No Vacancy at the front. I know the drill, so let me ask you, would it be possible to put this golden oldie on reserve?

I was thinking of an idea already: a young man and woman who had been proteges of Mr. Baine and Miss Mhori, and one of them is their child.

I'll check back soon. Ciao.
