Anthony smirked. "Of course." As usual, Anthony missed the flirt, seeing the comment as simply a mention of his rank. He watched as Isabella went through each person in the ranks and correct small details. Anthony didn't think they were too small to overlook, just that they were small details, even if he did think they should be corrected in the end. He stood at the front, keeping track of them as a whole so no one tried to leave or do anything out of place just because Praetor Isabella had already passed them. Because he was at the front, however, he had to crane his head slightly when Isabella seemed to pause on someone that lacked their armor. It's always sad to see people attempting to test the limits of what they can get away with and going too far. I'll be sure to keep track of her more than I have been, or she might try something like this again.
Anthony gave a slight bow of his head to Isabella as she returned, saying of everything basically being in order. "Don't worry, I'll keep a closer eye on her to be sure she has her armor next time." He nodded as she said to have them be at ease. "I was about to before you showed up, actually." He watched as she began to leave before looking to the ordered group of soldiers. "At ease. But, be ready, we will be expected to be at attention when the Praetor returns with the new recruits."
After the tour, Julia decided to investigate some curiosities further. She got as close to the lava wall as she could feel comfortable, which wasn't even close enough to see anything new, but she did study it for a short time. She also took her time to look at the many-eyed creature from a distance as well as the dragon. Finally, however, she decided to try and meet some of the other members of the camp. She found her way back to the Hermes cabin, knowing she'd have to go there eventually. She looked for anyone she thought would be worth talking to, but couldn't seem to find anyone. Then again, she was kind of looking for someone she'd already met so she didn't have to bother with names again, but that didn't seem to be working. She frowned before deciding to go in search of Daniel or Aiden somewhere, as those were the two familiar faces.
She walked about, eventually finding her way to the hill with the tree that had caused her to meet Daniel and Aiden originally, and looked out toward the camp. What she saw from here was similar to what she saw before, but with one thing of note. She saw a group of people crowded around Aiden, who was kneeling down. She frowned, before starting to make her way over. As she approached, she realized Aiden had stood up, and had begun to walk. She hadn't, however, heard what he said, and started to think he might be giving them a tour as well. She looked through the group for familiar faces as she increased her pace to hopefully catch up, and eventually saw Daniel. [8882be]Maybe it's not a tour after all... maybe this is just his group of friends?[/color] She eventually found her way to the group, only to hear Daniel saying something about getting paid for tours. So it is a tour, then? Did Daniel forget everything already and need another one? She smirked slightly as she approached. "Getting another tour from him? Did you forget the last one already?" She spoke this as she watched Daniel, looking for what sort of reaction he might have because of the comment.
Apologies to those who had to wait on my post as Anthony. I was, admittedly, being lazy because I found the temperature too high, but everything is all good now, and I can post as normal again
Anthony let his gaze flow from each member of the legion to the next. It was rather interesting to see so many people in lines with fancy armor working for him, at least at the moment. He saw one of the newer members seemed to be a little too far forward. "Glad you're eager, but you should step back a bit. If there's ever a battle, and you're up like that, you'll be more open to attacks. Our formations aren't just appealing, they're good for keeping people from making mistakes, at least at the start of a battle." He gave a quick thumbs-up as the soldier stepped back, bringing the ranks into what he thought was a good place for everyone.
As Anthony stepped back to the front, he began to speak loudly for everyone "The praetor should be here soon. Until then-" He glanced to the side, seeing Isabella heading his way. "Well, speak of the devil," he said with a slight grin. "Attention!" He shouted as she began getting closer. It's sad they couldn't be at ease for a moment, but oh well.
Anthony glanced to Isabella, his grin still covering his face. He returned, in a similarly playful manner, "Thank you, Praetor. It's been hard to learn, though, with your example." He glanced towards Isabella's direwolf friend as Isabella was mentioning about checking the recruits. "Oh, you absolutely must not check their formation. They're all in terrible position, especially after I checked through myself." His tone changed from the joking tone to a serious one, "I went through and made sure they were mostly correct, I'm sure you'll find it a good example to the new recruits."
Anthony lifted the helmet, placing it atop his head. He pulled the cape up slightly to look at it for a second. I'll never get used to having a cape... Especially not when I want to run full speed, but oh well. He smiled for a moment before heading out. He briefly felt like a hero with the armor and everything.
Anthony glanced at the golden eagle, seeing the ruby eyes for but a moment before he looked back to the legionnaires that were already there. He let his gaze wander over the majority of them before he spoke up. "Madam Praetor should be here soon, but before that, we'll be sure we're in the proper formation. Of course, I'm sure you all are, as I'll soon be confirming." He wasn't fond of taking a more serious tone, but when it had to be done, it had to be done. He began to walk about the ranks, studying each person more carefully.
"If you see a new recruit out of place, Tell them what they're doing wrong. Some may make mistakes, and rather than let them keep those mistakes with them, we'll have them ironed out by tonight so that when it comes time to learn to protect each other, we will all be learning the same thing, and protecting equally." He stood in front of the legionnaires, looking about at them once more. Isabella wanted the new recruits to be in some 'pretty formations' if I remember correctly. Let's see how many we can get perfected today...
(collab between me and Grimeagle with an invasion by our resident head GM)
Julia glanced about, absolutely no clue where she had ended up. She looked around, "Where in the world have I wandered...? Should I use more Greek mythology in my phrases?" She spoke to herself, lost in both thought and location. If the satyr hadn't left so quickly, she might not have been so lost in two separate ways, but he had and so she was. "I guess I should use a phrase like... Where in Hades domain have I found myself..." She frowned slightly, thinking about what she'd just said. I don't think it works as well as the regular version... Should I even try to change how I talk just because we're in this camp?
Julia looked up at the pine tree on the hill, glancing around a bit. Have... I've been here before... She frowned slightly, her face reddening a bit. Did I walk a complete circle and end up back at the entrance!? She grumbled quietly to herself as she stepped over to the tree, sitting down against it. She glanced to the side, trying to look behind her at the tree, I like this tree... It's a nice tree... I wonder what it's called... She sighed quietly before standing up again and patting the tree I bet you're some super-powerful tree given by... What was his name? It was Dio- something... I should get some books about Greek mythology to make sure I know who's whom... She frowned before turning again and walking away from the tree, hopeful that she wouldn't make the same mistake this time of getting lost.
Daniel proceeded to explore the camp after recollecting himself and making his goodbyes to the girl and satyr. The girl had something she needed to go do on the other side of camp, and the satyr said "I've got other poor shucks like you to find, later kid, try not to die." Exploring camp would take some time, so Daniel decided to look to see where was the best view of the whole camp.
It was then that he saw a rather sizable tree upon a hill, "Well, guess I better kill some time... and try not to die..?" With that said out loud, Daniel proceeded to breath the cool air deeply and ran off towards the tree, this time making sure to not trip and embarass himself infront of a girl again.
Julia glanced about as she had been walking down the hill back towards the camp. She kind of hoped she wasn't a child of Dio-... Whoever was the god of vegetation. If she remembered correctly, he was also the god of wine, which she didn't particularly want to have anything to do with. She frowned slightly at the thought, I'm sure that just because I could feel that the tree was different doesn't mean I'm a child of his... I hope... Her eyes darted to movement that she saw as her mind stopped hogging her attentions. Why is that person running to the tree? Are they in danger!? She started looking about to see if there was any sign of danger, finding nothing nearby, but fearing a possibly invisible opponent.
Daniel quickly made it up the hill, almost feeling thankful for all those forgetful bus drivers since it made him very proficient at running for long distances, even in crowds. As he neared the top he saw a girl about the same age as the one who helped him earlier walking away from the tree. He started slowing down as he neared her. "Okay," Daniel thought to himself, "try not to screw up this time, you can actually have first impressions now.". He came to a halt in front of the girl, stood up straight, and attempted to greet her. "Hi, my name's Daniel, what's your's?"
Julia frowned slightly, realizing her initial thought was off. What could he have been running for, if he wasn't scared...? She saw him slowing down and stopped her walk, glancing back at the tree Maybe he felt the power of the tree and thought I knew what it was or something... She looked back to him as he spoke. "Oh, hi... I'm Julia. Were you running from something, or towards something?" She leaned slightly to the side, looking past him to be sure there was nothing following him, though now that she thought about it, she was sure the camp was safe enough, especially if that tree was helping to protect more than just itself.
Daniel gave a small frown at Julia's question, "No, I wasn't running from anything... nothing I know of anyways." He scratched the back of his neck and thought "am I missing something here. Why would I be getting chased. Anywho..."
Daniel looked back towards the girl and sighed saying, "I just... you know, wanted to have a good view of camp. The tree seemed like a good place to see where everyone is. Lucky me, I ran into someone anyways." With that last word Daniel attempted to put on airs of calm and casualness, though because of his quick jog just then, he was still breathing a tad deeply.
Julia made an 'o' with her mouth as he explained everything to her. "So you're not running from anything, okay... I thought this camp might be less safe than I originally thought for a second and that you were running towards the tree for protection." Her face reddened slightly as she explained her reasoning before she straightened slightly, "Best to always be careful just in case though. So you wanted a good view of the camp... Are you knew too? You look... older than me, I would think you've been here for a bit." She squinted slightly as she looked him up and down, trying to find any sign that he's a camp half-blood veteran.
Daniel blushed slightly as Julia looked him over and just shrugged, "I just turned sixteen a few months ago, and I just got to camp maybe five minutes ago." Daniel sighed as he tried to relax, "Sorry, I'm a bit over zealous. Being able to talk to people normally is new to me."
Julia's eyes widened, contrasting their previous squint as she heard the mention of his age. "You're sixteen!?" She stepped to the side, leaning in that direction and investigating further. "There's no way you're sixteen..." She squinted then, looking at him in the eyes. "You're not trying to trick me, are you? You'll regret it if you are." She tried to put an edge to her voice, but didn't succeed well, as she didn't feel any real hostility towards him.
"Why would I lie?" Daniel said honestly, "besides, bad jokes don't start untill day two" he finished with a toothy grin.
"Why wait until day two for the bad jokes? I've found a good time pun gets me places." A friendly tone came from the direction of the camp as a red haired boy wearing an eyepatch approched the two. "Aiden Debacker, Son of Kronos, you two new here?" the boy asked once more, his british accent showing true.
"That itself was a bad joke." Julia suddenly heard a new voice, and blinked. She smiled and looked to the new person, waving.
"Honestly I've made worse... wait, what?" Daniel also suddenly turned to face the new voice.
Julia looked curiously at Aiden. "You're a son of Kronos? Can you see the future and tell me who I'm a daughter of?" She blinked in a bit of confusion before suddenly going "Oh, right, yes, I'm new. I'm Julia... Why's that tree feel so powerful, by the way?" She pointed at the tree up the hill, curious about what the tree could do.
Daniel just looked between the two and said to the new person "Hi, I'm Daniel. I'm new as of five minutes ago." Daniel then looked to the tree, "What do you mean about power Julia?"
"I can't see the future quite yet, my dear. Unfortunately being prophetic is not under my sphere of influence... and I'm not quite so in control over my powers. Though, if I had to take a guess." The boy said with a small shrug before gesturing to the tree she had mentioned. "You can sense the tree's magical power, I would place bets on Hecate. As for why its powerful, that is in order to keep the monsters out of our camp. As I'm sure it would be a bit irritating if you were brushing your hair one morning and a hellhound burst through your dorm." He said with another shrug before falling silent. After a few moments, the boy spoke once more "Well, I've been at camp for... three weeks now? I can show you two around if you so desire" he said with a harmless smile on his face.
Daniel looked to Aiden and smiled "Sounds like a nice idea." He looked at Julia with a slight blush still on his cheeks and asked, "Your thoughts?"
Julia frowned slightly as Aiden said he couldn't see the future. That was saddening as well as a tad disheartening to know he couldn't do that after being here for three weeks. She looked back towards the tree, "Hecate? Like... The goddess of magic?" She looked back to Aiden with a bit of a smile. "I knew I had to be a daughter of someone awesome." She nodded, "So the tree stops monsters from getting in? I thought it might just be kind of like a safety beacon..." She looked at the tree for a second before looking to Daniel. "Yeah, it'd be better than getting lo-... wandering again."
"I knew where I was going..." Daniil said with a huff.
"I know the whole manly pride thing, bro, but you didn't know where you're going." Aiden said in a friendly tone with a harmless smile as he turned and gestured for the two to follow him down the hill. "As for your question, Julia, the tree does stop monsters and mortals from entering. For the monsters its a bit like an invisible wall they smack into, which is kind of funny sometimes. Mortals just get turned around and find themselves walking back out of the borders. Which makes getting a pizza here pretty annoying... I found out the hard way." Aiden said as he went down the hill towards the camp proper.
Julia giggled slightly at the comment of Daniel not knowing where he was going. She followed Aiden as they went down the hill, nodding as the tree was explained. "It's an actual wall that acts like a magnet of the same polarity to normal people?" She thought for a moment as he spoke of getting pizza, "Why not just send the pizza somewhere nearby...? Or get a demigod to be a pizza boy?" She glanced to Daniel, wondering if, since he liked running it seemed, he might want to be said pizza boy.
Daniel just his arms and pouted, "Hey I literally ran to the tree I saw, that's pretty directed if you ask me." Daniel saw Julia look at him after the pizza boy comment. "Hey, I ran because I'm excited, did it look like I was the Flash or freaking Shadow the Hedgehog... I know I dress like he acts, but still." Daniel proceeded to continue walking while pouting. "And besides, I told you, I'm not used to talking to people, new stuff is... fun, hence wanting to find people."
Leading them further into the camp, the boy gestured towards the large house off to their front left. "That, is the big house. Creative name, I know, but its what they call it around here. Chiron and Dionysus live in there, usually playing cards or something. Then in the attic is the creepy ass mummy oracle. Great times."
Julia looked to Daniel "Are you sure? Is your name Jay Garrick? Barry Allen? Wally West?" She gave a slight glare for but a moment. Shortly after, when being led throught he camp, she spoke, just a little too loudly, "Dionysus! That was his name! Oh... Sorry, keep going..."
In response to Julia's comment Daniel just looked wide eyed and panicked at her for a moment before continuing walking. Afterwords when they were walking Daniel just continued walking with the two while taking notes in the notebook he kept on his person. "Big House, Chiron, Dio-something, cards, mummy..." Daniel mumbled as he wrote.
"Ah, about him, he's not going to remember your names... or be nice. He's kind of a big spoiled kid, I can say that. I'm technically his uncle! Near the Big House, you'll see the volleyball courts... I'm sure I don't need to explain that." Aiden said as he continued to lead the two further into camp. Aiming towards the cabins this time around. "So, if you don't my asking, where are you two from?" He asked, trying to make friendly conversation.
Julia looked to Daniel again, thinking back to their conversation "Oh, they do like to make new Flashes... Maybe they have one named Daniel now...?" She shrugged. She looked to Aiden then, "Oh, I... Kinda thought I might be his daughter earlier when I could feel the tree's power..." Her face reddened at her own confusion. She looked to the volleyball court then, before looking to Aiden again, "That's... Volleyball's not required, is it?" Julia looked to Aiden, "I'm from the open wilds of Pennsylvania! Or... The... Farms..."
"Don't worry about getting hurt by people not knowing my name, that's basically my life" Daniel said with an uncomfortably chipped expression. He looked to Aiden and answered, "I'm from Philidelphia, though my family, or my mother, is from Russia." He then looked to Julia, took a deep breath and said "Daniel West." He then gave a victorious smile, feeling proud of himself.
With a small laugh, Aiden nodded to the two. "Well I am from England, as I am sure was evident in my accent. That being said, I apologize if I miss any pop culture references... let's say I was a bit removed from the world for a bit." The boy said with a small hint of frustration in his tone, then seemed to shake off that feeling. "Either way, lets finish the tour, yeah? I'm sure you two will like it here, its a nice place and I hope to see you two around. Starting with the cabins, that one over there," he said and pointed to a large wooden cabin with no special markings "is the Demi-Titan cabin. Where I am living, if you ever need anything feel free to stop by." He said before leading them further along into the camp, showing the two around the area until late in the day.
Upon exiting the praetor's home, Anthony's smile faded, and he looked towards the barracks. I should get this done quickly so I can be ready for when they get here. He started off at a jog, heading towards the barracks to ensure he was fully prepared for the new recruits. He picked up his speed a bit, using a bit of the speed granted to him by his blood to head over.

Julia looked around as the satyr brought her into the camp. He had already explained that he would need to go get more people that would be brought into the camp. She looked towards the satyr as he began to walk back out of the camp. Pretty unceremonious... I guess he could tell I was smart enough to figure out where I should go... She looked around a little bit before frowning slightly, Or... smart enough to ask someone where to go might be more appropriate here. She began to look around as she walked, unable to mask her curiosity and intrigue from showing through every action she did. Wow... I can't believe that Greek mythology was right. Does this mean we'll get to meet Zeus and Poseidon and Hades and... Apollo might be interesting to meet... I wonder which one I'm a child of...

Name: Anthony Brighton Nickname: I'll let this develop IC if at all Gender: Male Age and date of birth: 16 years old, born March 7th, 1998 Age Appearance: 17 Sexuality:Heterosexual
Godly Parent: Mercury Mortal Parent(s): Bethany Brighton is his mother, Arnold Stanton is his stepfather Siblings: Lisa Stanton, age 13
Height and build: 6'2" with average to somewhat athletic build Weight: 198 lbs Favorite weather and season: Ask him yourself
Appearance:
Personality: He's a generally friendly guy, but sticks to orders he's given as best he can. He expects people that work with him to follow instructions under any circumstances, as he doesn't want to lose people due to a lack of order. If he needs to discipline someone for something, he'll try to do it in an unexpected way if he can, but will adhere to usual punishment methods if need be. He likes for people to be creative when they can, but not when orders are given.
If he had to choose between him dying, or anyone else, he'd almost always choose himself, as he knows his abilities are better for escaping if the chance exists at all. He likes listening to music in his off-time, especially music written or performed by people at the camp itself, when the opportunity arises. He also likes the idea of sparring and team sparring as a training method, as it can help people to understand why good leadership and teamwork can save lives.
History: Anthony was born to a single mother, who had to work hard to support herself and her child. Of course, this trouble didn't last long enough for Anthony to remember it, as by the end of the first year with this, his mother found a man who was kind enough to add to the finances long enough for Bethany to secure a better paying job. Soon enough, Bethany and Arnold married, having a child between the two of them to go with the already existing Anthony.
As Anthony began to grow, he found a love for music and art. He didn't learn how to do either one very well, but he definitely practiced enough to be okay in some areas, such as playing guitar and drawing. As he grew a bit more, he found he was also pretty fast on his feet, and kind of enjoyed running as well. He started splitting his free time between practicing music and running while listening to music, drawing dropping from his most common activities.
One day, the wolves arrived to take him to the wolf-house, confusing him, but he got used to it. He trained hard, making sure to follow instructions and to only listen to music, run in his free time, or draw (however little he did), when he absolutely had free time. After he finished his training, he wandered towards the camp. On the way, he found himself harassed by a few monsters, but he ran, using his speed to his advantage to avoid the battles for now, but he'd be sure to mention that monsters in case the camp wanted to take them out. Eventually, he found the camp, and began his service.
