Yeah, is there going to be a standardised character sheet for this one or do we just post whatever we think is important to know? Also, are we waiting for approval before we post to the character tab or do we just post there straight away on this one?

I’m waiting to create my Gnome until that’s established, ‘cause I don’t wanna do a wrong
@Aristocles Oh I wasn’t meaning infinite space or infinite resources, just more than would ordinarily fit in that space. But either way is fine. A highly limited space can provide some interesting storytelling opportunities too.
I think it’s more important to consider how the technology that’s available would affect regular survivors in the apocalypse. Our characters are not likely to have the cutting-edge experimental weapons tech because, frankly, we’re mostly a bunch of random civilians. I’m mostly thinking about stuff that either would not exist any more that our characters would miss from pre-nuclear life (ie: tv, the internet, coffee, electricity in every home, PLUMBING), or things that would still be around that would be helpful for survival (ie, flashlights, Walkie-Talkies, assault rifles, HAM radios or solar panels). I imagine that since magic exists in this world, they’re probably more technologically advanced in certain areas (after all, magic is a seemingly unlimited energy source if you know how to use it) but it’s also possible that magic slowed technological advancement because it meant there was reduced necessity for it. Really depends on your perspective, I suppose.

I don’t think that our apocalypse will have laser guns but it’s also probably gonna have communities which use magic, solar or wind power to keep the lights on.
@Aristocles Regarding the size of the tower, in a lot of my settings Mage towers are somewhat extra dimensional, y’know? Tardis-like in that there are more rooms than there ought to be space for when you look from the outside. It means that the setting itself can be ever-expanding and you can later introduce new areas if/when they become relevant, by simply stating that the tower doesn’t reveal all of its rooms until they become relevant.

Also, anyone who knows me would tell you that I love small characters who take on massive tasks, so I’d definitely like to make a little Halfling/gnome/goblin/whatever other short races we have, who uses his size to his advantage when battling monsters. You can definitely expect at least one mini-student from me.
Count me interested.

@Lurking Shadow I’d say that in terms of technology we’re definitely closer to 2000 than 1940, but I dunno when specifically. What do you guys think?
@Lurking Shadow Approved
@Lurking Shadow Only if you like the idea, now that you’ve clarified your original backstory I don’t have any real problems with it.
@Lurking Shadow That clears things up, then. I actually think that D&D has a similar creature, the Yuan-Ti. They’re basically what you just described, snake-human hybrids who used to rule the world and are plotting to take it back, and some of those also can take on a near-human appearance to infiltrate society. The main difference I see is that Yuan-Ti are very much Aztec in their aesthetics and come in a variety of hybrid forms, I dunno if Lovecraftian Serpentfolk are the same.
