Hello, there really isn't much to see here. :^D

In case you were wondering, yes, I drew my profile image. Do you like it? I think it has a depressing sort of beauty.

Disclaimer: I can sometimes be a little too honest, and my standards might be too high. People don't like that. But let it stand on record that I also view myself with the same light. I would not criticize others if I am not willing to take criticism myself. Be mature. Don't hold stupid grudges. If you've come here to scope me out, to find some shameful detail or quench some personal spite because my honesty upset you in some way, -- I'm sorry but there is nothing here for your desperate attempt at self-validation. I will settle the pettiness with an apology. Sorry. Happy?

I can't do anything more than that.

Don't worry about it! Luxek would love to have a 'familiar-looking' friend, as you will soon come to see. :^D
We're waiting on Eklispe at this point, that's all. I'm debating on writing out a reaction to each character in my post, but then it'd be too long. Or to just skip that. But then it won't make any sense... ahh... just kms. Sudoku time.

EDIT: Also, is this a bug? The counter at the bottom shows an unusually high number. "21 Guests viewing this page" :thinking:
@Jerkchicken You're simply looking too far out at something that might not even happen.

I was actually deliberating putting down like very specifics in quantifying the tiers within the system, like listing weight capacities and top speeds, but quickly opted out of it. The reason being, because I simply didn't see the fun in it. Myself or any of my players. The tier names themselves aren't even thought out more than a minute. I figured we haven't even gotten to that part yet, so why bother. There just isn't a need to bombard people with so much extraneous information when it isn't really relevant at this point. There is a progression, and that's all that matters. We're here to fight EPIC things, and we need a quantifier for HOW we do it. A guideline for action scenes. That is all the stats are meant to serve. Things might reach a point where two 'Elder Gods' clash and destroy whole universes, sending the cosmos into a supernova of oblivion. And it might not.

Once we get there, if we get there, we'll jump over the hurdles together.

Right now, you are either average human or you are quite frail. That is all you need to worry about. Average does not mean pulling random people on the street either. That is not how you calculate averages. It is the AVERAGE of a certain context or data, in this case being the human race. Which, I know, is still quite vague. But now we're just walking on semantics.

I'm sure if something weird comes up in the RP we can talk it over.

@erode Yes, it only unlocks only one ability, though this one will evolve and become much greater than what it might start out as. Think of it as a signature ability. The rest is, precise and on the dot, general stuff that will supplement your play-style.
Hurray~ And what a post it was, indeed. @Rune_Alchemist

I love uncovering all the backgrounds and histories for each new character, and seeing how they end up looking as a result. It's so much better than reading some dinky pre-loaded sheet. Incredibly fascinating! Truly makes me smile reading all these. :^D
@Rune_Alchemist That is a good question.

Whether or not you gleam a bit into your past from this experience, the choice is if you accept it or not, which is the most contributing factor to the differentiation. You can choose to uphold the old 'you', or go forth with this newfound identity and purpose. In the end, this choice doesn't necessarily stop you from dipping into the other, it simply serves as a psyche check for your characters now. Imbalances in the cast does not matter either, because while this game has stats, its how you work around them that truly makes a character shine and effective. So don't let that affect your choice.
@Aristo Of course, the value of 1:1 is merely representing how much 'stat' is each Essence worth.

And oh, that's a good point. That's an oversight by me. I guess we can change the rules and make 'Rejection' chars have an endurance total of 1, to have an even spread, since using magic requires endurance too. No fun if you blow your entire load only to be able to use one shitty spell. Might as well make it two. :^D

To be honest, I was so focused on incorporating this choice into a story element that I didn't think it through fully.

NEW STAT SPREAD =

Old Self =
Str = 1
End = 1
Dex = 1
Spi = 0

Current Self =
Str = 1/2
End = 1
Dex = 1/2
Spi = 1

@jerkchicken Yes, precisely, though I tried to aim it is more a narrative device than just purely a choice in stat allocation. This is your characters interpretation of their 'purpose'. In rejecting their past, the character accepted this gift from the Goddess fully, at the cost of losing their 'identity', thus embracing their new 'Spirit', rather than if they were to accept the call of their past, which would mean they seek some form of 'Strength' to hold themselves in the world. Neither are wrong, just have different implications. In a way, they are also accepting or rejecting this new life and the destiny thrust upon them. By reverting to what is familiar or accepting the unknown. New vs. Old, Selfish vs Selfless desires, etc.
@Aristo Haha, I was about to ask that, since you didn't post one in your character sheet. Then I remembered I said to only include it once it has been approved. XD Just have fun with it, pretty much any -insert edgelord power- will fly here. It'll start out kinda shitty though.

Also, @Kagethekiller your stats are a little fuzzed, so it's a little hard to tell. Did you reject or accept your past self? I'm assuming you accepted it by the way your post went, so they should all be 1, except for SPI, which should be 0. Other than that, you're good.
I mean elder god killing comes with the necessity of slaying both their bodies and their incorporeal consciousness, right? That, and mostly, because it'd be confusing to have a bunch of posts going like;

"Hey, you! Wisp person, do that thing!"
"Wait, you mean me?"
"No, the other nameless, identical wisp person over there!"
"Me?"
"NO. You."
"You know, I feel like all these labels are starting to be really harmful to our outlook upon ourselves as a whole. It is rather devaluing. As such, I prefer adopting the term 'it' from now on, so we can remain as equals."
"Ooh! Can I be an attack helicopter?"
"Good grief..."

Yes, I cringed too, while writing this. I'm sorry for your eyes.
@Rune_Alchemist Rest well! I look forward to whatever it is you come up with. :^D

@kagethekillerYou can do either or, make a sheet or post then make a sheet, it doesn't really matter too much at this point.

Just a reminder, you're all still in the Atrium, so don't worry about that. You didn't go down yet.

Go ahead and post whatever you want, regarding your memories. I'm sure I can band-aid anything, being as the world your character might have known will have changed drastically since they last where there. If you happen to name a place or a people, it might even get referenced. This project feeds of all our creativity, not just my own.

Yes, what@Aristo said is correct, though for the latter choice, the SPI would be 0
