"Err... thanks man. See you later."

Jett waved and smiled at Tau as he sped off after Nani. Soon the H-ranker pulled up beside the pirate and continued talking mainly to himself. After sometime Captain joined in. Amused Jett responded promptly till the man and the parrot seemed to be engaged in an almost conversation.

Cuttersbury: Drych Lake Spa: Docks

"You sure are smart, Captain... WOAH!"

The novice bounced up and down excitedly as he reached the very edge of the dock. He tethered along the edge swaying back and forth. The gentle breeze blew against his face and he closed his eyes. He took a deep breath.

"Let's swim!"

Jett began unbuttoning his shirt and then unbuckling his belt. The last to be tossed aside were the bandages. With a jaunty wave, he backed all way towards the start of the dock, and then he dashed forward, narrowly avoiding Nani. At the last second he jump.

"Cannon ball!"

There was a loud splash as the enthusiastic rookie disappeared into the cool, clear water. Large ripples spread out and rocked the boat recently tied to the docks. Jett swam around just below the surface. Breaking above the surface he did a lazy backstroke towards the end of the dock where he last saw Nani.

"The water's great! Hey..."

His voice trailed off. Clearly the girl appeared to be busy chatting to the old man. He resisted the urge to splash both of them. Instead he rested his arms on the edge of the dock and peered at the other two.

"What's so great about a massage?" He asked curiously. "Is it fun? You sound totally excited."

Jett scooted along the dock till he was near Nani. "If it's as fun as he makes it, we should totally go!"

The Midnight Train to Nowhere

“Sounds like a plan.”

Ran grinned as cheerfully as possible while Jasper patted his back. He resisted the urge to tease the girl a little. It was tempting though giving how she was blushing earlier. Before he knew it, the rest had entered the house, so only Inadi was left outside with him. The older human continued sitting on the ground. He was so jelly donut tired!

He groaned a little as Inadi pulled his sleeve, but he got up anyway. He grinned. “Lotion would be great. Not sure there is any here.”

The older of the two lapsed into silence and merely nodded in response to Inadi’s comment that they should wait and observe. The two men continued walking quietly till they entered the place. Immediately, Inadi was greeted by Mr. Cuddles, so Ran took the time to observe the rest of the guests quietly. Upon recognizing a familiar face, he grinned and waved. He was about to greet Ise, when Jasper approached him with a cup of water in hand. He beamed and turned to face the pale-skinned human instead.

“Thanks, Jasper!”

Whoomp!

A huge black whirlwind knocked him off his feet and the glass flew out of his hand. He sucked in his breath and closed his eyes when he saw the mouth opening. A papery tongue ran up and down his cheek making Ran burst out laughing. Grateful for the distraction the illustrator cracked his eyes open and began stroking the not so tiny baby dragon.

“Nice to see you too Ise. You too, Cobalt!”

He allowed the baby dragon began nibbled his ear playfully. “Colby! You’ve grown so much.”

Suddenly, Inadi began shouting, and the black baby dragon whined loudly in response. All the tension in the room was stressing it out. Ran cuddled Cobalt’s head while whistling softly, but the dragonet continued threshing around. He raked his brains for a solution.

“Ise!”

He gasped as he remembered some of the things he learned back in Aven. Ran quickly grabbed Cobalt’s snout, and he pulled it down till the baby was looking him in the eye. He continued staring into the dragon’s black ones till finally Cobalt lowered his head and curled up on the ground. He stepped to one side, so Ise could attend to the baby.

Ran waited for several moments as he continued stroking Cobalt’s forearm. Seeing that no one was speaking up after Lelia asked her question, he decided to say something. He hoped someone else will take over from there. “I know a lot of you don’t sound too happy to be here... for good reasons.”

He broke off and looked at Inadi in particular. His reddened a little. He wished someone – like Riley or Ace or even Harper – would speak. He shifted his weight to his other foot then continued speaking. He hoped he wasn’t upsetting the rest. “But Toby’s right, guys. I think we need to give them a chance to answer our questions, right Lelia?”

He cleared his throat and tried to laugh a little in an attempt to ease the tension. “I mean. I don’t know about you guys, but I trust Ise. She always has a good reason for doing things. So… err… so let’s hear them out? Peace ya?”

The fight was over far too quickly, and everyone pretty much disappeared after that. To be fair he had chosen to come to this particularly treatment room near the end of the corridor. He can't remember what he asked for to be honest. He rubbed the back of his head while wrecking his brain for the answer. Still it was starting to get a little lonely even though the attendant left not too long ago after treating his injuries. The peaceful silence made him very uneasy. He desperately wanted company.

Jett flexed his hands experimentally followed by his fingers, but only his thumbs were able to move freely. He frowned. Opening the door was going to be so hard. He decided to try and sleep instead. The rookie flopped onto the bed. He closed his eyes for two seconds before he sat up again. Nah! He’d definitely prefer to look for the others, especially Gnar man. There was plenty of time to sleep tonight.

The novice dashed over to the door and fought with the knob for a good ten minutes. His hands kept slipping off thanks to the wads of cotton and thick bandages. Irritated, he gave one last tug, his hands slid off again, and he fell backwards onto his rump. Jett crossed his arms and tilted his head to one side.

“What’s that?”

The curious Guilder hurried to the window. Failing to notice anything, the man wiggled his way out of the window and flopped onto the grass outside. He looked upwards. It didn’t take him long to recognized the brightly feathered bird was perched on the branches.

He grinned as he addressed the parrot. “Hey there, Captain! Where’s your friend?”
