The sorcerer combines the Prayer to the Kraken with the Mudra of Burning Earth that volcano gods make when their mountains spew fire. Red strands of Essence then lance toward the targeted area, which begins to rumble.

Five ticks after the sorcerer’s Cast Sorcery action ends, tentacles of lava erupt from the ground. The sorcerer can place these writhing limbs anywhere in a circle 50 yards wide, at most 500 yards away. Anyone in the area when this happens is knocked prone unless the character hit is sturdy enough to simply shrug off the blow despite the damage, difficulty 2. The tentacles are magical constructs that Join Battle on the tick they appear and lash out at anyone the sorcerer names an enemy, either to strike or grapple. These act with Strength 10, Dexterity 4 and Martial Arts 4.

The damage inflicted by the tentacles is considered partial fire damage: Targets that are immune to heat and fire halve any damage taken, after soak. The tentacles never dodge or parry; they have 10L soak and are immune to bashing damage. Ten levels of damage destroy a tentacle, but at the beginning of every action, surviving tentacles regenerate all damage they have taken up to that point.

God-Forged Champion of War

This spell works only when cast under the open sky. The sorcerer speaks several of the Five Hundred Words of War and draws a latticework of Essence around herself. During the day, sparks of sunfire swirl down from the sky to join the lattice, while at night, the sorcerer’s anima catches glowing motes of moonlight or starlight. As the magic builds, the sorcerer rises into the air. Dozens of distant voices rise in an indistinct war chant.

Least gods (or as some call them, the spirits of objects) from objects in a 50-yard radius awaken, leave their objects and fl y toward the Essence-lattice of this spell, where the light of the Incarnae forges them into plates of thick armor, forming a mighty scout-class or common-class warstrider around the sorcerer. This warstrider lasts for one hour, though the sorcerer may extend its duration by spending 10 motes per additional hour. Armament for the warstrider costs additional committed motes of Essence: one mote per dot of cost for mundane weapons, or two motes per dot for artifact weapons, all suitably scaled for an 18-foot-tall humanoid war machine.

If the sorcerer spends an additional five motes at casting (which are not committed), the warstrider gains the benefits of the magical material aligned with the sorcerer’s Exaltation, but only if the warstrider is crafted of the appropriate sort of light. Solars gain this benefit only from casting this spell during the day, for example, while Lunars and Sidereals gain this benefit from spells cast at night. When this spell’s duration elapses, the least gods return to their objects, imparting in the object a slight glow of sun, moon or starlight that fades in a week. They are completely unharmed.

Exalted Stats Explained

This is explaining the stats from my other Exalted-themed character in this RP, but it will explain the stats all the same.

Strength determines, well... how strong you are. An average human can lift about a hundred pounds reliably, or two hundred if they try hard enough, and even drag up to four times that with extreme amounts of effort, or even more if conditions are right (such as wheels, or on a slippery surface). For each point an exalt (such as Cathak Talon) has over 1, they can lift three times that amount with relative ease. That means that he can lift three hundred pounds fairly easily, six hundred with some effort, and drag up to twenty-four hundred pounds on his own.

Dexterity is the measure of a character's speed and reflexes. A normal human can run about 15 miles per hour at a dead sprint, or about 8 miles per hour at a steady jog. They also have an average reaction time of only 215 millseconds. That said, with a Dexterity of 5 as opposed to the normal human rating of 1... Cathak Talon can likely sprint at over 75mph, maintain a jog at around 35mph, and likely react to something in as little as 40 milliseconds.

Stamina is of course, endurance. A normal person can do heavy labor for a few hours before needing to rest for at least an equal amount of time. They can also endure simple wounds such as a small cut or heavy bruise without much in the way of side-effects. Exalts such as Talon, are much more durable. With a Stamina of 3, Talon can do backbreaking work for well over a full day and not rest, and even simply ignore things such as a normal person stabbing him (an Exalt can endure lethal attacks such as knives and such to some degree, as they have armor-like qualities to their skin).

Charisma is just that... how charismatic you are. A normal person makes friends easily enough and can maybe talk their way out of something like a speeding ticket. With only a 2 in Charisma, Talon might seem suave to a normal person... but even a human can out-talk him if they are someone like a politician or professional con-artist.

Manipulation is similar. It's how well one can convince another person to believe them/do something for them. A normal person can talk an acquaintance into going to the store for them, picking them up from somewhere, or maybe lending them a moderate sum of money. With a manipulation of 3, Talon is probably able to talk a total stranger into joining his cause (if they are not a magical being or whatever), convince a friend to lend him thousands of dollars, or even convince a lawyer to speak on his behalf for no charge.

Appearance is... well... how attractive others find you. With only a 2, Talon would probably be referred to as "About a seven or eight" on the oh-so-lame scale that a lot of people use to describe how hot or sexy someone is. If he had a 4 or 5, he would not just be a "perfect ten", but would easily have many stalkers or fans. He would be a celebrity simply because he was beautiful.

Perception is how keen your senses are. A normal person might hear a twig being broken a few yards away, or see the laser sight of a rifle on a nearby person, or smell the delicious scent of a pie from down the hall. Talon, with a 4, could hear that twig from a couple hundred feet away, spot that laser sight from about three dozen yards, and smell that pie from a block away.

Intelligence is simply how smart you are. With a 2, Talon is a fairly sharp guy... but won't be taking home any awards for his utter brilliance.

Wits is how quickly you can do things such as formulate a plan, think of a way out of something, or pick up on subtle hints or messages. At a 3, Talon is a quick thinker who can likely pick up on things that most humans wouldn't think of without very direct hints.

Hello, everyone. Thanks for checking out the IntCheck.

New Peaks Academy is seeking active players with the ability to post at least a couple legible paragraphs per post to add to our list of academy faculty and the student body. I know it may sound weird, being called a fight school and all. However, I assure you that you'll have a blast at New Peaks.

Why should you chose us for your Slice of Life/School/Combat RPing? I'm more than happy to answer that, actually. New Peaks has:

- A sprawling island campus that features anything and everything a high-school student could want, including things such as a small theater, arcade, various small stores, a coffee shop, gyms, restaurants, private sparring arenas, and much more!

- A great athletic program. Students are free to choose from a multitude of sports programs to fill out their time between classes and fights, including basketball, wrestling, and even ballroom dancing, just like on TV!

- Wonderful faculty that will work with a student personally if they are struggling in their academic studies OR martial arts studies. That's what they're paid for, and after all, most teachers are also trained fighters themselves. It IS Fight School, after all!

- New Peaks is now accepting "Alternative Life Forms". Are you part human and part... something else? Fear not! New Peaks Academy accepts Alternate Life Forms both on a scholarship program AND on paid tuition. Don't run away! Join the fray!

- Not much of a fighter? No problem! New Peaks has a ranking system for all students that is based on their combat skill. You will not be forced to fight outside your rank if you do not want to. While martial combat IS part of the curriculum, we at New Peaks understand that not everyone is a black belt or master in their field.

Requirements for prospective Students are as follows

You gotta be of High-School age. Generally 14-18
We'd like more First-Year students, so we would like you to fill that role... however, it is not 100% necessary.
Students should have a basic understanding of English or Japanese, as most NPC students are American, European, or Japanese.
Students may have an ability to assist them in combat or class. This can be a magic skill or a physical skill. Just don't get too crazy.

Requirements for prospective Faculty are as follows

Any Age over 21, as you will still need a teaching degree or at LEAST a few years of experience in your field if teaching an elective class.
Significant proficiency (1st Dan Black Belt) in at least two martial arts styles, or Advanced proficiency (4th Dan Black Belt) in a single style.

I don't think you'd want them to sign up for a fight together, would you, Beta? Mine would obviously lose if that would take the fun out of the fight for you. Maybe we could wait for fights until more people show up.

You're free to challenge him if you'd like. Hell, doesn't even have to be a formal thing. Could just be a friendly spar between two new students.

That said, I told Sloth to finish his characters... he pretty much told me "I'll do it when I feel like it."... so there's that.
