• Name: Lucia Justenfant
• Age: 19
• Gender: Female
• Class: Striker
• Nationality: French
• Appearance:
• Bio: Lucia was always taught that the blood of heroes ran in her veins. Her family has a long history of military service, dating all the way back to the Napoleonic Wars, culminating in her Great Grandfather earning a rank of Commander in the Legion of Honor during the Second World War. Being told of the family history in her childhood did much to inspire her to follow suit. And when it so happened that she benefited from the effects of the Second Genesis, she saw her chance to do so... were it not for one problem.
That problem was her latent ability. It allowed her to generate energy from herself, but not in any way that was useful. And it seemed no amount of personal practice would be changing that. Given this, it seemed to Lucia her chances of gaining entrance to any academy was slim and none. In her disappointment, however, her childhood friend who had a gift for research and development approached her and her family with an idea; he had designs on a device that could utilize Lucia's ability as a power source and shape it into powerful tools that would enable her to follow the path she wanted. It took some pleading from Lucia herself, but eventually her friend was given permission, not to mention a large chunk of cash, to develop a prototype. Mercifully, it worked as planned, and with it in hand Lucia was off to pursue acceptance into the academy.
• Psychic Drive: Lucia's drive allows her to generate and project a form of energy similar to that used by beam weapons, but on her own it is spread so thinly and disperses so easily that it only registers as light radiation and cannot be used for much. With the help of her Armament, however...
• Armament: Maltet- Less of a weapon and more of a support device, Lucia's Armament is a set of armor (shown in her picture) and a sword hilt that act as both limiters and an array of focusing irises for her ability; when active, they compress and confine the energy she projects into usable formats. With the help from Maltet she's able to use her ability to deploy barriers for protection, booster flares for bursts of speed, and a powerful beam saber for striking her enemies.
• Extra:
Lucia's Theme
Lucia is taller than most women, standing 6'0"
Her Drive burns calories like nobody's business when in use, which leads to her being a big eater and keeping her shape without really trying.

"Lucia, are you sure you're ready? There may not be any going back after this..."
Javert's concerned voice came through the intercom of the test chamber as Lucia finished adjusting the devices he'd presented to her. His worrying was sweet, really. It made her smile to know he cared about her. But there was something that needed doing here. "Javert," she replied, "I've been waiting for this moment for six months, if you try to find an excuse to stop it now I'll pummel you!"
"Ack!" he exclaimed, "Okay, okay! But remember it's just a prototype, so if you feel anything, and I mean ANYTHING not going right or you feel like you're in danger, we're stopping this immediately! I don't want you to-"
"You don't want me to get hurt," she cut in, "Yes yes I know, and that's adorable. I'll hug you for it when I step out there after a successful test. Now let's go!"
"Oh alright. I'm going to unlock the power supply so they start powering themselves..."
"Wait, I thought they were supposed to use my ability for power?"
"They will, but that's the part I already know I can do. I'm not adding it until I know the rest of the array works correctly. Hold still, I'm flipping the switch now..."
Shortly thereafter the audible humming of a generator stirring to life filled the room. Lucia turned her head to look at the cables that fell down from the items she wore and snaked along the floor, as if expecting to see the electricity flow through them to the devices. They were clunky and sat awkwardly on her form, not to mention they were heinously ugly. Like giant chunks of scrap metal that had been beaten into shape. Javert had made profuse assurances under her skeptical glare that the final product would look the part and that this was just to see if the function was viable, but she had her doubts.
Finally the humming settled in and the intercom activated again. "Okay," her childhood friend said, "We're green across the board. For start, just activate your ability, and we'll go from there."
"Okay," she replied, steadying her breathing and closing her eyes, "Here goes."
Lucia was intimately familiar with how her power felt. When she was releasing it, it felt as if bursts of heat were echoing off of her form into the surrounding air. She remembered hating the feeling. Hating it because for all its bluster and heat, it was ultimately worthless for nearly anything. And as she gently willed it to come out again, she fully expected the dreadful heat to come right back, same as always. And for a brief moment, it did just that- before abruptly stopping. Lucia opened her eyes in surprise and looked at the devices in awe. They too were starting to hum, and some lights along the side were now glowing a bluish green color.
"Lucia!" Javert called, "Is everything alright?!"
"Fine!" she cried back excitedly, "Better than fine! Everything's wonderful!"
"Great! Okay, I'm going to walk you through some things, we're going to see if everything works..."
Roughly an hour later she was leaving the chamber, exhausted with a small burn on one arm but otherwise unharmed. Javert met her at the door with a sandwich, a glass of water, and a chair to sit down in. "Sorry about that bit at the end," he said, "I didn't realize the energy build-up would be that intense. But I have an idea for how to handle it that I think you're going to like!"
"Oh?" Lucia replied between bites of food, "And what might that be?"
"Well... how do you feel about waist capes?"
