< 5'7" * 128lbs * Burnt Caramel Brown Eyes * Chestnut brown hair >
Name:Malori Myles.
Gender:Female.
Age:Twenty-Seven. (27)
Birthplace:Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Former Life:Instagram Model, LGBTQ+ Spokeswoman, Activist, Social Media Influencer, Aspiring Actress. She had a whole list of titles she went by. Above all things she wanted to be someone everyone knew. Someone important in the world. And if she needed to use her looks to get herself there, she would.
Appearance:Malori has long, naturally wavy chestnut brown hair; her eyes a similarly rich brown color. She stands at about five feet seven inches with a fit one-hundred and twenty-eight pound weight. Malori is naturally curvy, having a narrow waist and pronounced hips. The years after the virus have given her more muscle than she had previously, not to mention the scars she has accrued over the past half decade. Cutting herself on fences and broken glass, wounds she got fighting off bandits, accidents sharpening knives. The works.
At one time she happily flaunted her body for pictures to post on her social media. Nowadays she tends to wear full outfits at all times outside of her room. Her only blemish used to be the faint freckles adorning her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Now she is scarred and battered and bruised. She is no longer the pristine image she was five year ago. The only thing that remains from her past is her smile, big and bright. Though now more rare, but more genuine when she does show it.
In truth Malori only has a dozen or so scars. So most accurately not that much, and most would go unnoticed without pointing them out. But she still remembers what she used to be. How she used to look; and now she feels shes just a broken and tarnished version of her past. At least physically. The only noticeable scar she can't conceal is across her jaw below her left ear, stopping just short of her neck.
Personality:If anyone that knew Malori before the virus happened to find her today, they would hardly recognize her. She was insufferable back when the world wasn't on fire. She was bratty, attention seeking, self involved, childish, entitled, Fickle, fleeting, etc. The only time she was pleasant was when she had a camera on her. She was an angel when someone was recording. But behind the scenes she was the nearest thing to hell on Earth to deal with. Despite this she still had friends, or at least a posse of people that hung around her and the minuscule fame she had garnered from posting promiscuous images of herself on the internet. But they all were simply clout chasing, having no real desire to be the Princesses legitimate friend. And looking back on it Malori doesn't blame any of them.
Now Malori is the polar opposite of her former self. The destruction of the world really puts things into perspective. She realized she wouldn't get far being a bitch to everyone. She could fend for herself decently, but she wasn't dumb. She knew she wouldn't survive on her own. So she humbled herself. Dedicated herself to being of value to people that she could trust to have her back. Most people now would say Malori is kind, hardworking, considerate, sympathetic, and generous. And in truth, despite the world going to shit, Malori has never felt the kinship and joy she feels now before in her life. She never knew how warming and comforting it was to have close, genuine friendships and companionships. It was a feeling no million likes on instagram has ever given her. Her change began as a means of survival, now it is her genuine default personality. Something she might have been in her former life if she wasn't so obsessed with fame.
Biography:Former Life
Malori was born rather typical and average. She grew up admiring people on TV and magazines. Awe struck by how flawless they were. For a time she genuine thought they were angels or something. They seemed too perfect to be real. She aspired to be like them one day. Perfect. Pristine. Flawless. Effortlessly happy. Not this nerdy girl that wore big glasses and teased in her early school life because she loved frogs and snakes.
She tried changing her appearance when she went into middle school. Mimicking the looks of the people in magazines and movies. But everyone knew her. They had established her as the nerd, the weirdo. She couldn't shake it. The new look only garnered more teasing for trying to be someone she wasn't.
But fate struck one day when they had to move. Her dad got a new position at his work and they were relocating the family a state away. This was her chance. She would start fresh in a new school. She could be someone cool. Someone people aspired to be. Someone pretty. And it worked. She started wearing contacts and went back to the fashionable clothes on the first day of her new school. And they bought it! All of them! She was a cool kid. They didn't know better. How could they? First appearances were everything. And she finally struck gold.
After this began a spiral of narcissism. No longer was she pretending to be a popular kid. She believed it. And she followed all the troupes she grew up watching. Belittling those around you to put yourself on top. Viciously cutting down anyone in her way.
After high school she had already gathered a small following on social media for her style and promiscuous photos. She began to sell more 'intimate' photos to those who would pay her price. And slowly she began to make a living from modeling on Social media and becoming an influencer, promoting random products on her social media. She eventually became a spokeswoman for the LGBTQ+ association. Then an activist. And shortly before the end of the world she was auditioning for TV shows and Movies, whatever audition she could get really. Though she ultimately never landed an acting gig before the fall.
Three years before the fall Malori had a scare when a fan of hers from her social media walked into her house uninvited. Luckily nothing happened and she called the police, scaring him off. But this situation forced her to move and get involved in self defense. She attending Krav Maga, mixed martial arts, and firearms training 3 days a week (one day per class), every week. When she signed up she knew this knowledge would eventually save her life. She had no idea it would be in the way it ended though.
After the Fall
All things considered, Malori hit the lottery when the virus hit its peak in her town; and she was at her lessons. She was in the firing range when suddenly she was shook on her shoulder by one of the instructors, yelling at everyone in the class to stop firing. In a panic he explained some crazy shit was making people lose their shit and shit was going sideways. He used shit a lot. Plus other expletives but you get the gist. Most people laughed, including Malori, thinking it was some joke. But looking in the main facility they could see citizens and staff scrambling to load guns and fill their pockets and bags with as much ammo as they could. Looking further they noticed how the door was barred shut with a turned over vending machine. Shit really was crazy.
All in the class hurriedly left the range and did the same as everyone else. Grabbing whatever gun wasn't locked down and whatever ammunition they could get their hands on. Beyond the scrambling and shouting they could hear banging on the front door, gurgling yells and cries. Panic filled the air like electricity. But everyone was staying out of each others way, so long as they got what they needed. THe days lessons were on handguns, so she had her pink baretta with her, along with her purse which she filled with as many boxes of ammunition as she could. Once everyone had their pockets and bags full it fell quiet inside the store. They didn't know what to do now. Some suggested they go out and fight, while others said they should stay there until whatever the hell was outside moved on.
It was two days of eating vending machine snacks before restlessness set in. Though it still sounded like chaos outside the doors people couldn't stand being inside the gun range any longer. The fighting vote began to lean heavily, and forced the group into action. But Malori was no hero. She knew self defense but she wasn't about to risk her life just because some idiots with guns thought they were invincible. No one knew what was out there. No one knew what happened to the people now covered in wounds and vomit, clawing at doors and windows to get in. No one knew what they were capable of. Malori wasn't gonna stick around to find out.
As everyone prepared to open the front door to fight Malori slinked away to the back. She had been going to this place for years. She knew there was a ladder to get to the roof. She knew all the noise the group would be making would pull anything with still functioning ears to that side.
So as the assault began she snuck away and got on the roof, cautiously waiting for anything at the back of the building to move to the front with all the noise before climbing down onto a dumpster and running off. Needing to stay fit and all the Krav Maga and Mixed Martial arts had given her body plenty of stamina. She never found out what happened to that group.
To this day she regrets not sticking with them and fighting. They might have survived. Who knows. Staying with them might have saved her from all the struggles she went through to survive on her own for a time. Or what she did to stay in the small groups she stumbled upon to have someone around to keep watch so she could sleep.
Luckily she eventually found Wolfwater. Some place she could call home. Some place she didn't need to compromise herself just to keep safe. Some place she found genuine bonds with people. Some place she calls her own, with the people she loves.
