A survivor, a fighter, someone who had been working her way to the top ever since she was embraced. But this is not where the story started...
It began a long time ago, to be more precise, about 114 years ago, back in 1904, years of the election of President Roosevelt, years of prosperity and back there, even if it was only 10 years away, the idea of WWI wasn't even close. Women were mostly delegated to do house chores, cooking, nursing or at the very best of options, being teachers and nothing more. Something the female heavily denied, despite being only 14 at the time. She denied learning a lot of "girl things" such as sewing, cooking or any kind of stuff of that sort, and would constanltly steal her brother's clothes to wear, she swore, she fighted boys of her age and won, she spent a long time in the library to study things such as political sciences and other things. She was getting ready to pave her own way in life. She wanted to be a pioneer, a studious independent woman. However, her father had different plans for her. While still uncommon, arranged marriages were still a thing and her father had found the girl a rich husband who would make their life much better. Of course, she didn't really respond well.
Young Alice ran away from home, disguised as a boy and began living by doing odd jobs here and there. She found apprenticeship in a butcher shop, learning how to slice meat properly, how to identify the right kinds of regions of the cows, chickens and pigs. And boy did she do it well, so well in fact, the owner pretty much gave her a place to stay. She could now sleep in the basement of his home and she was never happier living with that man. Eventually Stanley, the butcher, found out about the girl's true gender, but paid little to no mind to it seeing her talent. However as she grew bigger as times continued, that basement grew smaller. She felt that she would eventually have to leave her comfortable little world and she began studying. Life was busy as butcher, but she had the nights free and that's when she would begin reading the enormous ammounts of book she bought with her salary. Little by little she would grow smarter and smarter.
Finally, in 1908, when she was 18 years old, the girl decided to leave the butcher shop and Stanley behind. Thanking her for her hard work, the man gave her 2000 dollars and a "thank you". She knew where she had to go, New York city where she would go and try to become anything relevant, maybe try to enroll to a college and become a scholar, or maybe become a journalist. There were some actresses on the rise too, maybe she could do that? She was not yet sure, but now she had a goal.
Once arriving in New York, the girl spent a long time working in a Library while also trying to write her own novels and searched for a better job, however, all of her novels were refused and no one really wanted to employ the librarian, and specially no colleges would want her joining without completing High School. Alice found herself disappointed, frustrated and hopeless for the next years all the way until she completed 24 years old.
The end of World War 1 brought the United States to an explosion of possibilities, and so many places were now employing new people, in particular, a certain independent Newspaper called "The Vision". The girl's skills with words were unparalled with and so they took her in. And the months she spent in there never could have been better. Alice became in little to no time the one with the best articles and also the one hwo began pushing the paper forwards, people were now actually reading it. However, that's when the problem begun.
By the end of the year, the girl saw an odd man seemingly feeding on another person. She managed to take a picture and run and so published an article named "Beings of the night among us?" relating her experience, and that called this man's attention. Into the night, she was attacked by him, a vampire whose name she can't recall until today. While she didn't really know and never got to learn, his name was Andrew Trois, an influent man in the Camarilla who had a peculiar way of execution for mortals who enraged him. He would simply embrace them, vanish afterwards and let the dark society of the World of Darkness swallow them whole and kill them shortly and Alice was no different.
She soon woke up, now feeling different, all pale, with no one around and an insane thirst for blood, feeding on the closest mortal she could find. It didn't take her long to realize, she was a vampire. Now what? She didn't know what could be done, what were the norms, what were the laws and what she could even do. What she could do was called trial and error. She was abandoned by her sire to die, she learned that early on as she met people, talked to them, learned from them and was betrayed by many of them. If that was the case, if she was in this new state of existance, she wouldn't give in. She would become relevant in this new society.
Alice began learning all she could, the disciplines came naturally from her own conception of what vampires could do. First, accute senses, with it, came the Auspex, her most developed and powerful discipline, second, the ability to manipulate human minds, and with it, came Dominate, and finally, enough strength to fight, and so she learned on her own, the discipline of Potence. Soon after she learned that she was what vampires called a Caitiff, a clanless vampire and the scum of the Camarilla society. She would need to prove herself, to show her what she could do.
And so she did.
Took her some good 30 years, but in 1934, she finally made it. Alice Hawkins was now strong enough to fight, wise enough to manipulate, lie and decieve, as well to know all of the inner politics of that system. All by herself, she raised to a point of gaining some small influence. After learning to use her feminine charms across those 30 years, she seducted several important men from the area of Long Island and turned them into ghouls, controling and manipulating them to do her bidding. over the area of Long Island And that's where the problem began...
Elders don't really enjoy Caitiff gaining power, so they began hunting and attacking her over and over, be it physically or by sabotaging her places of influence. Alice's brains managed to do the trick to get out of problems but she knew that it was a matter of time until they managed to get her for good. So she did the smartest thing she could and put herself into the state of torpor, into a chained coffin in the sewers with the help of some Nosferatus allied to her, deciding to wake up later on when the balance was shaken and those who were after her had forgotten about her entirely.
Many years later, in 2017, the female awoke, some curious Malkavians playing in the sewers found her and thought it would be hilarious to wake up an old vampire sleeping. The chains were broken and she was fed, standing tall and looking around, she spoke with those Malkavians and befriended them. They taught her all that they could about the world nowadays, and little by little, she's been searching for a new opportunity to rise. In 2018, with the political power once more shaken with an imminent thread of the Sabbat, Alice saw her chance coming.
