And the characters that are resistant/immune to "mind control" would just shrug it off and kill them with ease...

My main concern is that someone with that ability set wouldn't last very long. Arty's nearly immune, the overlord probably doesn't even have a normal mind to control, Thinker's character can move past any manipulation before it takes effect, and every other character has a will of iron that lets them shrug it off. In fact, almost all of my characters have some form of anti-telepathy skill or ability, just to highlight the fact that it's nearly useless in arena combat unless it's OP. Even for characters who aren't resistant or immune, it's extremely difficult to call accurate "damage" because we have no baseline to go with. With abilities that have a physical manifestation, we usually have a real world example of the damage they can do so we use that and either scale up or down.

All that said, I'm certainly not against mental powers so long as they're not OP (mind control is still a no, but mental manipulation is a possibility), but unless they are OP they have very limited usefulness and a specialized character isn't going to last long.
Mind control: No

Telekinesis: Yes

Drall's current character already has TK, so we can't really say no to that, and it seems like most characters are resistant/immune to telepathy anyway, so there wouldn't be much point.
So pathfinder, want to meet Mortimer? I figure he could answer that distress call and we could get to writing once my computer gets here (I'm starting to really hate writing on my phone >_< ).
For armor plates that could take a hit from anything short of depleted uranium and keep on going, a pointy knife and the force of a kick were small obstacles indeed. The dagger would pierce the rubber sole easily enough, but on contact with the alloy armoring underneath it would find it's offensive journey very suddenly redirected. Thanks to the kick possessing both more mass and more momentum than the dagger and the arm that held it, it would be driven backward straight toward its wielder's stomach with enough force to drive the handle deep into the man's abdomen, whether it was pointed or not.

It would be immediately after that occurred (if no way was found to mitigate that occurrence) that the sword would strike his leg and be halted in its tracks by the armor's plating. It would be at this point that the air burst is unleashed, if the other man still possesses the fortitude to do so, and knocks the leg aside, out to Sev's left. Due to its point being stuck in the sole of the boot, the dagger (whether embedded in Vos' stomach or not) would be wrenched to Vos' right as Sev's leg is knocked away.
Yeah, you seem to have a habit of doing that. >_<
If you haven't edited it yet, go ahead and leave it. I doubt editing it will make that big a difference anyway, and it's not like last time when there were three posts behind the attack.
The kick started just after your character started stepping forward, so the arm would still be moving while it happened.

But I had the same problem with your mist attack when I first read it, so I understand the feeling.
The way I read it, that was during your second hop forward, whereas my kick would strike during the first (when your right foot is the one moving).
You can't interrupt your own post Vordak, and even if you could, there's no way you could shift your forward momentum to backward momentum fast enough to completely avoid the kick.

Things that aren't okay in the post: Altering your characters previously written actions (the lunge forward) when my character's action (the kick) was barely even initiated (this is exactly the scenario I wrote out as something I wanted to avoid). If an action is described as happening (without a qualifier), then that action will be completed unless interrupted or negated by the opponent.

Things that are okay in the post: The slash at Sev's leg. My post stated specifically that I was interrupting the second slash, so you would be free to alter it as you see fit (and within the realm of possibility).
Sev simply let his arm keep swinging, staying just ahead of the sword blade until it was quite safely out of reach off to his right side. It was really nice of his opponent to deliver an attack that required no additional effort to avoid. He'd have to thank him for that later. Very considerate.

Sev, on the other hand, was not in the habit of making considerations of any kind, and as soon as the kid shifted his weight forward his left leg shot up and out toward the kid's oncoming stomach. Even encased in armor, the kick was fast enough to land before he'd be able to follow through into his second strike, and powerful enough to send him sprawling. Sev also noticed a bit of misting in the air, though it did little more than make him want to blink a few times.
