A good post. Just enough detail to know what your character is doing. You're getting better already. :)
"Very well."

David stalked forward, one foot crossing in front of the other until he was within striking range of his opponent. Once there, right foot forward and arms raised in a kick-boxer's stance, he launched a straight jab at Ahmad's left cheek. No need to get overly complicated.
It wasn't the attack he would have chosen, in all honesty. If it had been just a kick or just a punch, it would have been at least marginally useful, but attempting both at the same time simply left him off balance and unable to put much power behind either attack. The kick was clearly a feint from the get-go, he didn't use his hips to build power and the body language spoke of a second attack, so when the fist came in toward his face he was ready.

His own left hand came up as his right leg stepped forward, catching the underpowered kick on the outside of his thigh instead of his knee as he halted the off-balance punch with a harsh palm-strike to the oncoming fist, countering the force of the blow. As he did this, his right hand came up and aimed another palm strike at the center of his opponent's chest, and he shifted his center of gravity lower, pushing his right knee out and behind the other man's left leg before it could recover from the kick. The palm strike to his chest, combined with the knee behind his left leg preventing it from returning to sure footing (and the already imbalanced nature of the initial attack), would make it extremely difficult to avoid complete loss of balance. All in all, the counter should be more than enough to leave the Arab sprawled out on his back.

"Not the best choice of opening moves. If you're intent on launching a two-pronged attack, do not give up your balance to do so. Sure footing will get you farther than any amount of off-balance offensives. Offensives that are almost always very easily countered."
I'm really sorry it took so long to reply. Last week and the weekend got hectic and I thought I'd gotten caught up yesterday, then realized with utter horror that it had been five days since Vordak posted...

I'm also going to apologize for the paltry post. I'm having a difficult time getting into Sev's head. This'll probably be the only fight I'll use him in.
"So you're just gonna run away like a little girl then, are you?"

Sev didn't follow the mage as he retreated, instead remaining where he was and holding his arms out in a gesture that seemed to say "really man? Come on."
No, QT. We're not saying that. Drall can't call damage on LeeRoy's character, so he should have made the attack conditional.

But even so, 300 mph wind is faster than most (if not all) tornadoes. Sticking the sword in the ground wouldn't help unless he has a way to anchor it. Even then though, he doesn't know Arty can do what he just did and wouldn't be able to anticipate it in order to get the sword into the ground in time.
Well... That was a waste of a perfectly good charged attack. :P
That's better, but I'd still have to assume where at David's left side the kick is aimed, as well as the kind of punch (a counter for a jab is very different from the counter for a hook). If I wrote my reply now, for instance, I would assume that the kick is aimed at my left knee and the punch is a straight jab at my nose.
First lesson: Detail, detail, detail.

Always include as much relevant detail as you can. When you're picturing it in your head, what kind of kick is it? Where is it aimed? What about the punch? Is it a jab? A hook? Is it going for his face or his chest? Or his abdomen? Every attack needs to be aimed and described with enough detail to make it clear what your character is doing, otherwise your opponent can (and has to) make up all the details you leave out in order to defend properly, which can leave you at a severe disadvantage.

I'll write my response once you edit the post to include those necessary details.
In my head, he was never between anyone and the tree. He would have been able to see Overlord in his peripheral vision (as indicated by the fact that he saw Overlord kill the mage, then immediately after fired a bolt at Drall behind the tree without any significant change of orientation).

But meh. You wouldn't be the first in this fight to take advantage of a temporal flux... And I know that wasn't your intention so you're good.
