Increasing it to how much though? I think at most it should be no more then 250 tons. Enough to lift most characters and suitably large things to throw at people, realty don't need anything more if one is worried about punching through something.(It occurs to me the only real disadvantage purely physical characters have in regards to high-tech and magical opponents is the lack of prep capability, but that's another thing entirely)

I'd feel better about 500 tons. That way throwing something like an MBT a significant distance and with a good amount of speed wouldn't be a huge chore. I mean, a strength focused high-tier should at LEAST be able to toss around modern tanks without overly taxing themselves. In my opinion, at least.

And the point I'm getting at is that there shouldn't be an inherent disadvantage to using a physically powerful character (new term to use instead of strength-based, since as everyone's pointed out it's more than just strength). Different tactics required for effective defense and offense? Absolutely. Exploitable weaknesses that a magic/tech based character doesn't have? Yup. But no type of character should be inherently better (in an overall sense) than another in the same tier.
Your padawan could kill the wraith in a short fight sequence written by you, then I could turn Green's guy with that code word, then we could split up and the padawan's could fight while Bloodshot goes after the master.
Turns into? Hell, he already IS a jesus-ninja. ;)

I could always switch him back to his original ability, which was that he can draw on the ambient force energy brought to the area by the presence of a force user in order to increase his own physical stats. He doesn't drain anything away from the force user in question, but the more force users there are/the more powerful a force user is, the stronger/faster/tougher he can get.
Not continents. Cities? Sure. But definitely not continents. I guess if we're all agreed that a strength focused character can feasibly compete with other high-tiers at a sub-1000 ton level, I'll just write up a CS when I get back and go from there.
We could always just subtract a zero for each lower tier.

And it's not about making high-tiers even higher as much as it is about making specialized abilities universally better than non-specialized ones. As it is, only specialized magical or technological abilities have that option. You can't make a competitive high-tier based on strength because any other high-use can use magic/tech/powers to equal their strength, AND do half a dozen other things besides.

EDIT: What Green said.

Frankly this whole 'being dedicated' to just strength thing seems like ballshit to me, are you saying you're not going to have superhuman endurance and constitution to go with it? Yeah, right.

"Pure strength" characters would be ones like Hulk, the Thing, or Collosus. Increased durability and endurance is usually a given. What I consider to be a pure strength character is one whose only ranged option is physically throwing stuff at the opponent, whose only method of travel is using their muscles to propel themselves, and whose only defense is the toughness of their skin (or armor) and melee weapons. They can't shoot energy, absorb energy, fly, cast a vast variety of magical spells, create forcefields, or design super-advanced tech (unless those are the methods whereby they gain their strength).

Right, so, using our current accepted High-tiered roster to get an example:Skallagrim and Are's lifting limit would be 250 tonsBoT and the mechas would be 500 tonErde would be 1000 tonSince we have no pure physical High-tier char, let's say Punchy McCrushy would be 2000 tons.

Maxwell might be close to 2,000 tons. But other than that, and excluding the ability to lift and move one's own body (in the case of Green's mech especially), yes.
And on the topic of RPing, I need to know the group consensus on the strength issue so I can decide which character to submit for high-tier. I would recommend a limit of 250 tons for characters specialized in something other than strength, 500 tons for jack of all trades characters, 1,000 tons for strength specialized characters with one or two secondary abilities, and 2,000 tons for pure strength characters.

Or other numbers scaling along those same lines (starting at 2,500 would be better in my opinion, but people don't seem to like the idea of truly high-tier strength). If when Skalla comes back he doesn't like the changes, it would be entirely up to him whether they get changed back or not.
I just wish he'd listened to reason.
If that's the case, then I need to switch dance partners. ImpNo can't very well go around fighting herself (or is it himself? I tend to identify people by their character's gender).
