The moment the syringes came into the picture, feelings of uncertainty and doubt immediately filled the room. Jin wasn't bothered in the slightest. This wasn't that much of a surprise; it would have been strange if everyone simply believed and accepted everything he had said. Obedience was good, but they weren't looking for pawns; what they needed were strong-willed individuals who knew how to think for themselves. That's what they expected from the quirkless. Given how the world has been nowadays, just being able to survive without a quirk spoke volumes of who they were as people.
"Um... is this safe...?"
Seating comfortably and maintaining his nonchalant-like disposition, Jin took another sip of whiskey before turning towards Akane.
"I suppose everyone's wondering the same thing. Good question, Miss Akane." He leaned forward, slowly setting his drink down before continuing. "What if I said it was? Would any of you actually believe me?" Jin smirked and took quick glances at everyone within the room.
"I think its fair to assume that we gave each of you enough time to think this through. And since you all found the time to be here right now, I guess its fair to assume that you're prepared to take the needed risks. Right?"
This was good. Aside from specific details, Jin wanted them to ask as many questions as they wanted. Information was a powerful tool, and he was more than willing to share what he could to them. A curious mind was never a bad thing; at least most of the time.
The mood was a bit tense, and Jin wasn't too fond of it. Hoping to diffuse the silence, he raised his glass to everyone. "Piece of advice, you guys should calm your nerves. A bit of alcohol, goes a long way."
Having nothing else to add, Jin leaned back into his chair and just waited. Would more queries be brought up? Or was someone already prepared to take whatever those syringes contained?
