My badass cat literally just pimp slapped a red wasp out of the air and quickly ate it up in two crunchy bites. He didn’t even flinch or blink.

Greetings, salvé, and salutations...

I am Scrivener, and I have an insatiable craving for anime-manga themed roleplays. Both original concepts and fandoms. Below you will find several tabs, or “hiders” if you will. Please read through them all thoroughly before messaging me. I hope to receive some responses, so if interested, please directly PM me. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

I am also open to hearing out others’ ideas if nothing here interests you. Just a heads up!
@Typical

“Oh yes, I remember,” Han said, regarding Marla’s statement regarding their old professor, “as much as I love biology, even I tired of his demands of mass memorization. Still, it has come in handy, so I can’t blame him at all anymore. Not much anyway.”

Hanjae smiled to himself as he remembered the days at univeristy. Lorenzi would spatter out a barrage of terms and scientific names, expecting them to be perfectly memorized. Spelling included. Even with his own struggles, Hanjae was still at the top of Lorenzi’s class, as was Marla.

“I agree, it wouldn’t hurt to gather more. But let’s not go too far out of the way. Perhaps around high noon we could make a point of looking for some. Anything else on the immediate list for today? I mean regarding your specific interests.”

Hanjae had been leading their efforts for two days now. And today he was metaphorically giving Marla the wheel. He had hoped for a modest rain today, or at least a cool misty sprinkle. Though his hopes were for naught as the sky above was clear as could be. Only a few small puffish white clouds skirted along across the great blue above. Now all Hanjae could do was hope this insufferable steamy fog lifted soon. Today, he was more than happy to simply tow the line and nothing more.

“Alright Number One, what say you?” Hanjae asked with a smile as put away his binoculars and looked to Marla.

Recent binges of Metal Gear Solid and the James Bond titles have given me a deep craving for an original secret agent/spy concept. (Hello, I’m Scrivener by the way.) As I said the RP will be original, though I’m not opposed to it having tropes or references to actual RL titles. After all, upside down cardboard boxes or sniper rifles shaped like a cane can be useful.

The RP will have an elemental mixture of stealth, shooting action, chase scenes, and dabs of romance. As I said, your usual spy media tropes. The characters and settings of course will be original, and as for time period, I’m leaning towards the Cold War. Anywhere from 1964 to 1990.

I am also leaning towards a more science fiction side of things if you will. Secret Soviet cloning labs, secret nuclear bases in Antarctica, moderate walking mecha, next generation tanks and fighter craft, and etcetera.

If interested, please PM me directly and we can begin discussion and get to know each other better! If not, thank you for your time and have a good day!

Name
Hanjae “Han” Livingston

Gender
Male

Age
29

Nationality
Korean-American

Background and Personality
Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, Hanja came from an impoverished background. The bastard son of an American military officer born to a Korean woman who co-managed her fathers’ store. At age fourteen, Hanjae studied as a foreign exchange student in San Francisco, California. He graduated at the age of seventeen and attended college with the desire to study microbiology. He would graduate college with a PhD in microbiology and a bachelor degree in botany.

Hanjae, or “Han” as he preferred to be called (due to American butchering of his name), would go on to work in labs at USC and UCLA researching and experimenting with microbes and various diseases and parasites. Occasionally he would guest speak to university graduate classes and at ceremonies. Recently, Hanjae paired with an old colleague from his graduate days and has departed the states for South America. The pair embarking on an expedition of sorts into the Amazonian jungle for separate avenues in their respected fields.

(Personality) Han can be described as mellow yet intuitive. An intelligent man with a thirst for knowledge and understanding. Despite majoring in an applied science, he also has interests in literature, grammar, linguistics, and cultural and historical geography. Han can in fact speak five languages; English, Korean, Mandarin, French, and Spanish. Open minded and understanding, as well as rather diplomatic, many might say that Han could have been a psychologist or sociologist if not for his love of biology.

Skills
1. Multilingual (English, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and French)
2. Diplomatic (The voice of reason. One who would rather resolve an issue than fight over one.)
3.Basic Survival Skills (Hiking, biking, setting up camp and identifying variants of plants. From edible to poisonous to medicinal.)

Fears
1. Being burned alive.
2. Drowning.
3. Arachniphobia.
4. Dark, tight spaces. (Chlostropobia)

Chapter 1: The Expedition

The mighty Amazonian Jungle. Some call it the “lungs of the planet”, an appropriate monicker due to it providing twenty percent of the Earths’ oxygen. Where the beauty and the dangers of the wild live in symbiosis. The mighty Amazon, beautiful as its flowers and as wild as a beast in itself.

To Hanjae, the Amazon's beauty was beyond appealing, and it’s dangers were indeed harrowing. But, Hanjae, or “Han”, would not let the dangers of the Amazon intimidate him. Not profoundly anyway. He stood at the bow of the small boat that glided along the hushed river. The boat was not of large size, but was adequate enough for an expedition into the deep jungle.

It was roughly the size of a small house boat with two decks. It was captained by a local man, Hugo Escalero, and his first mate and son Marco. The two had been hired by Hanjae and his companion as both guides and transportation for the pair. Hanjae had paid them with his own money, and the two hadn’t came cheap. Understandably so, as boating along through the Amazon for a week wasn’t exactly the most casual of things to be done.

Hanjae stood with his binoculars looking off ahead, though with little to be seen. It was just after sunrise and a heavy, thick fog hung over the water and hung throughout the thick tree lines on either side. Han lowered his binoculars and stepped back from the bow.

”We did everything adults would do.” ~Lord of The Flies by William Golding

A huge fan of William Goldings’ Lord of The Flies, this concept has been a long time coming to paper. Metaphorical paper in this case. This RP tells the story of a fictional third world province that is heavily ravaged by war and endless violence and bloodshed. A group of children, their families lost to war and they now alone, have armed themselves and formed their own “kingdom of the flies”.

After scavenging what they could from the surrounding villages, the group journeyed into the jungle where they discovered an ancient Mayan temple. They chose the old temple as their base, their “castle in the forest”. Since arriving there, the group operates like any third world militia band would. They raid defenseless villages and take people hostage, and have captured many adults and use them as slaves to help build and strengthen their castle.

The children have become savage and violent. They bring war and death wherever they go. Products of their environment. In this RP, my partner and I will role as a pair of scientists that are out on an expedition in the Amazonian jungle, perhaps botanists/biologists. The pair are captured by the children and taken back to the temple and presented to he leader of the children. A harsh young boy with the cold eyes of a killer.

Treated like animals at the hands of the brutal youths, the adults must find some way to escape from these mad children, or overcome them.
A dark and gritty concept, this RP will not be for the faint of heart. If interested, please directly PM me so we may begin discussion.
UPDATE: I apologize for being so faded the last few days. Real life let’s no man rest. I’ll be adding more to the lore tonight and tomorrow and my goal is to get the official thread up in the next few days.
I'd be down for something like this, still looking for players?

Yes indeed!
