Current Technology: can't live with it; can't live without it. Trying to make a Powerpoint presentation for Volcanology tomorrow morning, and Office 365 Powerpoint keeps crashing. RIP

Just when Magus thought he was getting a handle on the situation, things got crazier. It seemed everyone and their mother had chosen this place to gather, though Magus had no idea who any of these people were since he couldn't see any of them. Fortunately, Mimic and Dian seemed unwilling to face so many people at once and began to beat a hasty retreat.

Then, just as Magus thought he was in the clear, things got even crazier. Suddenly he was being attacked from all sides, though by whom he couldn't tell. He swung his staff around at each whatever-it-was that attacked him, only for his staff to pass through with little resistance followed by some sort of explosion that assailed his remaining senses in ways he couldn't begin to describe. Coughing and nearly vomiting from the foul taste each hit produced, he shouted, "What in the world is going on?!"
I'm assuming Magus is still involved in this too. Quick question, though. If Mimic's copies are attacking Magus, would he be able to feel them or otherwise know that they exist since they're technically not real, or would he be more or less unaffected by them?
As Magus backpedaled away from Dian, he heard a noise: the rumble of a motorcycle coming up the street. This was nothing unusual in a city like Epic City, even with the motorcycle likely heading in the direction of the fight--the High probably knew that Magus and Vice alone wouldn't be able to take on these villains and had sent reinforcements. What was unusual was that Magus didn't just hear the motorcycle approaching; he felt something that he had never noticed before: subtle changes in the air, tiny vibrations in the earth, miniscule changes in the amount of moisture in the air around him. Magus had no idea what any of this meant, but something was changing.

As the newcomer shouted at Dian and the sound of gunfire rang through the street, Magus felt it again: a slight change in the moisture in the air, a slight compression of the air brushing past him, a shift in the vibrations across the ground. Magus still wasn't entirely sure what was happening, but he was beginning to get an idea. Now, if he could just hone in on these new sensations, he might be able to make up for his blindness. Unfortunately, with events moving forward rapidly, it seemed unlikely that Magus would have a chance to explore this new-found ability before he was attacked again. He could hear Dian walking around him, so he turned in the direction of the sound, his staff held out in front of him, the way a blind man would use a cane to feel ahead of him. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" he asked for the third time, his stance defensive, his eyes, unseeing though they were, locked on his assailant.

@floodtalon@Regitnui
@floodtalonI think we're near Dragon's apartment. Mimic is going after Vice, and I think Magus just tossed Dian into the air with a column of earth, and now he's listening for signs of trouble while hoping his eyesight returns sooner rather than later (@Regitnui is that even going to happen?)
OOC: Mimic really is disgusting

Magus's staff had been in mid swing when a silver chain flew in from behind and tangled around him, messing up his swing so that he was unable to whack the girl like he'd intended to. Luckily, Vice had come in at the same moment and knocked his assailant away from him. Unfortunately, that didn't last long as the girl quickly split her hand, pinned Magus down, and somehow blinded him. After that, he was given a short reprieve, but being unable to see, this wasn't much of a benefit to him.

Magus listened to the older girl going ga-ga over Vice in a way that made him cringe even without being able to see what she was doing, and then the other one, apparently called Dian, was on him again, this time taking his hand and cutting into it in four lines. Magus grimaced in pain as he planted his staff on the ground and focused. A moment later, a column of earth shot up in front of him where he suspected Dian was by the sound of her voice. If his estimation was accurate, the column of earth would sen her flying. Even if he was slightly off, the effort should at least be enough to force her to let go of him as the column of earth was definitely partly between his hand and her. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" he asked once more as his column collapsed back into the ground just as suddenly as it had sprouted up. He backpedaled a few steps as he listened for any signs of what was going on, hoping his sight would return soon.

@Regitnui@RoflsMazoy
@Regitnui Aren't there already kind of a lot of people getting involved in that? (I know Magus and Ace are involved, and I assume Dragon, Spectrum, Charlotte and Traveler are going to get involved too, and didn't Traveler recruit Anomaly to come with her also?)
Tagging @Regitnui here since I forgot to do it in the IC.
OOC: Technically it's more a long jacket than a robe, but that is the image he's going for.

Magus's gale had barely unbalanced the two girls for a second before they counterattacked, immediately putting Magus on the defensive. The fiery disk the older girl conjured flew at him and he dodged only for his coat to get skewered on the younger girl's fingers (if they could still be called fingers).

"He's not on the list," she had said just before stabbing his jacket.

"What list?" he asked, twirling his staff to smack the schoolgirl upside the head before jumping back in an attempt to free himself from her claws (a much more adequate term for what her fingers had become). "What are you doing here?"
Well, I need @Old Amsterdam or @Regitnui to advance my character, but don't think you have to get on it any time soon if you're that sick. Take care of yourself first, and I hope you feel better soon.
One thing was certain: the High certainly had interesting ways of communicating with their citizens. Edward asked Zander and Nathan to hold down the fort while he ran some "errands," then left by the back door, quickly grabbing his staff and donning his customary frock just as he noticed oddly flashing lights, signs, and other electronic devices kindly directing him in the way the Electric needed him to go.

With the guidance of the High Electric, Magus was quickly able to arrive at the site of the disturbance. The two schoolgirls certainly didn't look like much, but everyone who lived in Epic City knew that to judge someone based on how they looked could easily be a fatal mistake, and the fact that no one else was around was enough for anyone to know something was up with these two. If the High Electric himself needed Magus to deal with these two, they were certainly trouble, and Magus wasn't going to waste time with pleasantries. There was a stiff breeze blowing, and with a thought, Magus whipped up a small amount of it into a gale which he then threw right into the two girls.
