No problem, man. As Jedly said, life always takes priority.
@SenStill waiting on Among, but I can post later today.

His last post was eight days ago. :L
I hope nothing bad came up.
waiting for others to make a post on the Solace like

It was apparently a surprise to Mako that Rui was the leader of the group. Thinking about, Sato listened to the hospitalized teen go on about it. Rui was actually a pretty good fit, all things considered. He was cool, calm, collected, aware, powerful, worked well with everyone... It was almost like he was made to be in command. Sato gave a small sigh, disappointed he couldn't be like that. Well, at least it saved Sato the trouble of having to deal with all the new recruits like Rui did. Talking to someone you knew was one thing, but there was no way that Rui was friends with every victim considering the variety of years and cliques they were all in.

Sato couldn't help but smile when Mako brought up the time they went out for lunch together. It would've almost been like a date had it not been for the serious topic matter that resulted in Sato ditching ten minutes in. It was a bit embarrassing to look back on, but to Sato, it was only normal to feel overwhelmed by the whole thing. He'd always just tried to soldier on so nobody else would have to get hurt, but was that really a good thing to do? "You sound like I did back then, Mako." Sato gave a forced laugh. "I guess I'm not as tough as you then, since I was pretty hurt at first. Sorry about bailing on you."

Mako continued on talking, and what he had to say next was significantly more interesting. Sato had completely forgotten about the dreams, since they hadn't been too frequent since he got his persona. "I thought that was just me too. The dreams about that room... I don't know what it is, but what that nose guy was talking about definitely meant something. I just wish there was some way to go there. If it were real that is." He sighed again, this time one of defeat. There was no use trying to figure out something this detached from reality. "I don't want to say 'you're welcome' after saving you, but... no problem? Well, regardless, I'm glad to hear you're going to be joining us, as more help is always appreciated."

Sato was about to say his good-byes, but just before he could, a voice came from behind him. Sato had no idea how long Rui had been there, but the boy spoke up about how the other two victims were just down the hall. He continued on to discuss the room they were talking about-- the 'Velvet Room'--, and pulled something out of his pocket.

The key! Sato had forgotten all about that, as he'd been trying to figure out what the hell was going on the whole time it was being introduced. Instinctively, Sato reached into his pocket to see if it was there, and to his shock, he pulled his hand pulled out a deep blue key. As Rui had said, he'd never seen anything around Warakuma that seemed to match it, and he sure as hell wasn't about to go sticking it in locks all over the place, so he disregarded it for the time being. "Yeah, there probably isn't much of a point in trying to figure this mystery out for now. You should probably be taking it easy right now anyway." Sato shrugged and put his hand back in his pants pocket.

Before he knew it, the key had disappeared without a trace, so Sato withdrew his arm and instead gave a quick wave to Rui as he left to go talk to the rest of the fresh recruits. Once again alone with Mako, Sato figured he should follow suit and leave too, but struggled to find the words to dismiss himself, but as he forced himself to walk over to the door, he found something to say. "See you at school tomorrow." With that, Sato left as well. Right before stepping out though, he gave one last look to Mako, one like he looked at the sun. As in, a fleeting glance that he immediately regretted.

The door shut behind him with a bit of a slam, causing a nurse to look at him funny. Sato muttered an apology and started down back to the hospital's entrance. The front-desk lady gave him a half-assed wave as he passed by and out the doors. The air outside was cool for the season, which Sato considered a good thing seeing as they were starting to get into summer. Thinking of the summer reminded Sato that he was still wearing his uniform, as he had taken a b-line straight from school to the hospital.

People walked in and out of the hospital, some going to visit their loved ones after work or having done so already. Sato never did like hospitals, nor the thought of working within one for the rest of his working life. But the people inside were another story, and Sato wondered if they would make it worth it...

He scoffed at himself. There was a whole mirror world dungeon about that whole thing, but, maybe. It was worth considering.
[Matt:]
From now on, we will be using code names. You can address me as Eagle One. Kotori, code name: Been There, Done That. Shizu is Currently Doing That. Akane is It Happened Once In A Dream. Rui, code name: If I Had To Pick A Dude. Sato is Eagle Two.

[Sato:]
Oh thank God.
@Sho Minazuki
Are you going to have Rui visit each individual room, or are you just going to do a little he-did-it-off-screen magic? Just wondering if I should wait for you to post for it or not.
Mako seemed to respond positively to his intrusion, so Sato relaxed his shoulders a bit. Unfortunately, Mako seemed to see through his little white lie and went straight to the point. Rui didn't seem to be here yet, so Sato leaned his shoulder against the wall next to the door and started explaining. "You're correct. We're the ones that saved you, but you don't know the others. And you're right about the kidnapping... All of us are the past victims of the cultist kidnappings, and they all went the same way: abduction, almost commit a form of suicide, and then face yourself." Sato smiled to himself, glad that Mako would never get to know what he'd went through. His shadow... was less than nice. "If you recall, after you accepted your shadow-- the 'other you', I mean--, you saw a figure, correct? That means you've gained the persona ability, and you can use a persona. It's a bit complicated, so I'll let our leader talk to you about it, but know that you now have a power only us few have. I won't force you, but you'd be a great help on our team if you'd like to join."

"As for the others," Sato continued, stopping to remember their faces as if to check if they were really alive. "You don't have to worry. They're fine, but they also went through the same thing you went through. I haven't talked to them yet, so I don't know what they said about any of this. So, umm... I guess you should wait for a guy named Shinichi Rui, our leader. I'm not really prepared to explain everything, but he's done it enough that he's probably memorized what to say by now."

Sato pushed off from the wall, smoothing off his uniform as he stood up-right. "I'm sorry, but I don't have any of the notes you missed today. We're in different years after all. Hopefully someone will come by and get those to you soon." This was going... awkwardly. Usually Rui showed up first and he could just saw hi and stand to the side. It was oddly suffocating being alone with a patient. That was probably something he'd have to get used to, later on... Mako wasn't a patient though, but was he a friend? Their relationship was so weird that is was hard to decipher where they stood. Either way, Sato found himself without much else to say, and that meant the only thing left was cheesy garbage. "I'm really glad you're okay. You guys, I mean. I'd like to hope nobody else will get hurt, and I hate to be negative, but that's probably just wishful thinking. This is just the start of whatever those cultists are plotting... Foiling this plan only means they're going to try again or try something new, and I'm not sure which is more frightening."
The team's all-out attack was beyond successful, and Shizuka's shadow disappeared into a dark fog before reappearing as her clone again. The battle wasn't over, however. Everyone turned to Shizuka, who still had to take care of her yellow-eyed doppelganger. Sato worried for a moment as she waited for Shizu's response to what Rui had said, but that concern faded away quickly when she gave them a nod. All that was left was to watch as Shizu accepted her shadow, acknowledging what she'd been doing wrong, what she'd been trying to run away wrong. Listening to people accept their shadows like that always left a kind of ache in Sato's chest, but it always faded before long. Maybe it was an insulin spike from how sweet it was, or maybe it was a bitter feeling of remembering who he'd been. Sato didn't know how far he'd come since he had to face himself, but...

Who knows what tomorrow holds. Sato gave a wry smile as he watched predictably Matt catch Shizu once she had obtained her Persona. With that done, the slender teen felt a weight lift from his chest, as they had finished what they had come to do and successfully saved Shizuka from, in a way, herself. Sato himself felt like passing out the same way Shizu had, but the thought of the others still fighting brought him back to his senses. The night wasn't done until both the rescue team and the victims were back in the real world, safe and sound.

The team hurried back to their warehouse base with Shizu in tow, the navigators greeting them as they stepped through the mirror portal. It appeared that the other two squads had finished up their business safely at roughly the same time, and were just returning. All that was left was to deliver the collapsed victims to the hospital, a task Sato wanted to take but unfortunately couldn't do to being smaller than both of the guys. Matt had already left the scene with Shizu before Sato could even step out of the mirror world...

In any case, Sato set his minimal equipment to the side just as an unfamiliar voice came from the hall. He turned to see who it was, but the man he saw was a complete stranger to the third-year. A brown coat and suit, combined with the tired stubble on his worn face, gave a good detective-y vibe. This guy was clearly associated with the police somehow just from how stereotypical he looked. A few of the others reasonably took defensive stances, and as if to put them at ease, he apologized and introduced himself in a roundabout manner.

A co-worker of Kami's father was not who he expected (mostly because Sato didn't remember Kami's dad was a police officer or whatever), but he was in fact a detective, so Sato's intuition proved somewhat correct. He'd read enough mystery novels to know the look... More concerningly though, was the fact that the detective had just witnessed them going in and out of a magical mirror portal. The man seemed to understand they were helping though, fortunately, so Sato took a relaxed stance as he listened to the conversation, leaning against the edge of the table of their weapons.

In the end however, all the man seemed to be there for was to warn them (as a concerned adult, apparently) of some of the real world dangers they were faced with, and that they could always ask for help from the police if needed. The second thing Sato doubted they'd ever necessarily call upon considering the abstract nature of the case, but the first point was... interesting. For some reason, Sato realized, he'd neglected to even think about the idea of being targeted by the cult again in one way or another. Sure, in the mirror world, he could take them down. They'd even proven it before. But, his persona ability was useless in the real world and he didn't carry any kind of self-defense measure around with him.

Suffice to say, it was food for thought as Sato made his way back home in the darkness of the evening. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to invest in something to keep himself safe with. Just in case.

Sato Hashimoto // Warakuma High, Class 3-3
JUNE 29TH 2015, MONDAY
Afterschool

The bell resounded through-out Warakuma Highschool, and with that, the footsteps of hundreds of teens filled the rooms and halls. Sato had barely been listening to the last lecture of the day (it probably wasn't important), as he'd been so focused on remembering to go to the hospital ASAP that school seemed to move in one-quarter time. Honestly, Sato didn't even remember if it was practice or not. The night before had seemed to never end, and before he knew it, the morning sun was shining through his window... Had he even slept at all? Probably, as he managed to avoid every body that almost bumped into him in the hall as he made his way straight to the school entrance.

The trip from the school to the hospital felt like a second compared to how long Sato waited in the lobby. For some reason, the courage to go up and ask for visitation to either of the victims he knew fled before he could use it. Eventually the front desk attendant finished what she was doing and looked up at Sato, raising one eyebrow. "Who are you wanting to visit?" She guessed, looking back down at her desk.

Sato looked away from her as he walked up to the desk. "Uh... Moritomi Mako."

A few minutes of questioning later and the attendant sent Sato off with a sticky-note with the location of Mako's room written on it. He lowered his brow as he walked through the halls, trying to figure out why he instinctively chose him out of the options. It was probably because he knew that Shizu could count on Matt coming to visit her as soon as possible, and Sato didn't even know Masahide. Not like it mattered, though, as Sato found himself looking at the correct room number on wall, the same as the one written on the note. Peering in through a slightly open door, Sato made sure that nobody was currently talking to Mako at the moment before he pushed the door open all the way and entered.

"Umm... H-hey, Moritomi. It's me." Sato said, hands awkwardly pressed to his side. He cursed himself for not bringing... something. A card, or flowers, or a teddy bear? They all seemed weird, like something he'd give to a girl. Not Mako. "I just came by to check on you. Y'know, because some people in my class heard about it, and they were worried."
I wonder if the Solace has good coffee stocked. Usually I would expect pretty economy-class stock, but with how high the demand for coffee seems to be among the MAS squads, maybe we got premium joe... Anybody got confirmation on that?
Natalie dropped her arm to her side when Erwin turned to her, realizing that it was probably a bit thoughtless to come up to her comrade from behind like that after what had just happened. As much as she wanted to be happy, glad that she and him and all the other survivors had made it back, Nat couldn't shake the misery. They had lost far more than just several members of their squad. They were the lucky ones, arguably. There were so many other deaths and losses happening elsewhere, and they just couldn't see it. But maybe, that was for the best. Witnessing the death of so many people you knew would be... something else entirely.

Taking a shaky breath, Natalie closed her eyes for a moment just as another UEE MAS flew into the hangar. The war that was raging outside of the ship made the relative quiet of the Solace's interior disconcerting at best. Distant rumbles and flashes filtered through her closed eyes and ringing ears. Lifting her eyelids once again, Nat was too tired wring out her balled fists as some of her sorrow turned into rage. With no outlet, the anger spread through-out her like a poison in her veins, weighing down her body.

It was almost comforting just to hear Web's voice bring up the notion of grabbing a cup of coffee as if they had just woken up from a bad dream and it would all be okay. "Maybe it will be," Natalie whispered to herself as she pushed a strand of brown hair on her sweat-covered forehead back into the bun she had pulled her hair into. She exhaled at what she had said to herself, unsure of what to actually think of it. "I would love some coffee, Web." Looking up at him, Natalie was sure that she would never witness the man himself Webber Darley shed a tear, but with how... damp... he was, it would be almost impossible to discern where the water came from. That was a good thing, considering how if he had, she would be afraid she would do the same. It was a good thing there was a known cry-baby among the group, seeing as it would at least be predictable coming from Erwin.

Speaking of Erwin, the youngest soldier in the squad himself offered to make the pot of coffee, asserting that she and Web deserved a break more than he did. It bugged Nat that he considered his emotional needs less than theirs, but then again, she wasn't his big sister or anything. Erwin was a soldier, an adult in his own rite, even if his little mental dam was a push away from leaking.

"Thanks for making it through that one," Nat said to Web, reiterating what Erwin had said a moment ago. The air felt a little too thick after though, so she made her way past Erwin and started off towards their living quarters. It was a temporary relief to get away from the hangars... Without even checking if they followed, she cracked the door to the closest thing they had to a kitchen. It was more like a lounge with a fridge and some other utilities, but that was far more than they needed anyway. As the brunette stepped into the room, filled with its familiar vague stuffiness, she ripped out the two clips hidden in her hair, letting her fall down overly-dramatically. The strands just fell back limply, so Nat shook her head to make it fall naturally to her shoulders. Normally, she would maintain a proper military appearance around her comrades, but for once, distancing herself from her job seemed far more enjoyable than keeping a professional air.

After brushing her bangs out of the way, Nat walked over to the counter and pulled out the god-send that was a a bag of instant-coffee mix. She was about to start it herself, but remembering Erwin had kindly offered to do it made the simple task seem like a terrible bother. Instead, Nat collapsed into a worn-out couch by the wall, and she almost cried when her back hit the cushioning. Being hunched over the controls of a MAS like that was surprisingly straining this time around.

Kicking back like that felt dirty however, when she reminded herself of the people still fighting for their lives out there. Sitting back up-right, she ran her hands over her face, wiping the sweat on the pants of her flight-suit. It wasn't worth changing out of it, considering the very real risk of having to engage in more combat soon. Hopefully... that wouldn't be the case.

Natalie decided right then that she would be grateful if they didn't have to fight anytime soon for now.
