Codi Bailey

When Codi was waiting in the flag room, she became aware of noise inside of it; which did not come from her own person. She didn’t know if it was her own team member, or someone from the enemy team, in the latter case, it was a mystery how the person got there. Regardless, she had warned her own team members that she lacked night vision, and therefore she would not be able to distinguish friend from foe once the lights went out. She had made up her mind once the warning was given that she would attack anyone who entered, seeing as that it made no sense for her own team to be in their flag room unless they were defending. She wasn’t the only defender, but she was the best in the flag room where people couldn’t see her, just as she couldn’t see them. It was to her advantage for people to try to attack her and then find that her defense not only protected her, but also did harm to assailants.

It was this logic that Codi immediately turned towards the stranger, and commanded Reef to swing one of its thick, bony arms at the threat. She doubted that if this person lacked night vision, they would have any indication except for the sound of the arm whirring through the air, moments before it connected; and even if it did not land a blow, a second followed close behind, at a lower angle. Codi sent yet another arm coming from the other side, for good measure. She had six of these arms, all with a very wide range around her, and when swung at full force, they could produce cracks or dents in stone or metal. Codi intended to use all of them, as she stepped forward right next to the flag, unsheathing syringe-like claws in her hands hidden under regular nails, and kneeling down so that it would be exceedingly dangerous to approach.

As the three blows connected, whether with a person, or with surrounding scenery, Codi opted against saying anything at all. Don’t give the intruder any hint as to where the blows came from.
Well, I don't mind doing a faint outline, and if the monster is there, it's good character development; I just didn't know if you would approve of something like that. At any rate, people might freak out of she loses her intangibility, but she's got injuries like something attacked her, which shouldn't be possible. It's a way to add horror elements to a story.
There was the brief moment I pondered a terrifying, lovecraftian-sort of monster that was the sole resident of the dimension, which would start messing with my character, but considering that it stems pretty far from the RP, unless Allen liked the idea of a sub-plot involving it, I decided against any sort of resident beings in the dimension.
Sorry I didn't get in a post when expected, guys, I have some stuff IRL that I've been involved in that's been taking up more of my time than usual. It will probably be finished in a few days, though, so I can RP more effectively.

As for this new character, guys, it's probably a new student, since it would be more likely for people to mix up regarding her age if they had never seen her before. Additionally, I intend to add balancing out for her powers, but I don't know when I'll get around to making her. I typically don't want too many characters, and the idea for this one's powers is highly abstract, so it may or may not work out, to begin with. I can give you a general idea of the powers, though.

The idea behind her powers being linked to an alternate dimensions involves the concept that some dimensions are more 'removed' from the world than others. She isn't fading into a weird, alien dimension, but a 'shadow' dimension that overlaps our own very closely, almost like some concepts of a spirit or dream realm with slightly alternate laws, and happens to be almost identical. This is how I explain it, with the additional claim that certain actions will generally affect it; while others don't.

Something like light or photons or just energy, which are generated by anything light or electricity-related, do not typically consist of atomic matter, and can penetrate into this dimension, meaning if you have a power involving lasers or any other ridiculous amount of light, you could possibly still affect her; though physical powers, bullets, or anything else physical won't work; it's just like how I would see a ghost if it weren't involved with magic. Physical beings, like humans or animals, will appear as ghosts in this dimension, sort of like transparent phantoms, which is how this character knows where they are; these phantom images, however, do not make noise or any tell-tale signs that would let you know that something was coming, similar to how my character is almost always going to be a bit phantom-ish, so she normally does not produce sound unless she wants to. The reason for the character being able to become intangible is that in this dimension, she kind of happens to be so lacking in density normally that she can pass through things without much difficulty, and her powers allow her to retain her vitals and such without losing order or stability (Although definitely, it would kill her to lose intangibility inside solid matter, it's a guaranteed way to die). This in mind, though, she could accidentally float up into the air if she isn't careful, so she actually has to concentrate on the ability to maintain friction between herself and the ground; it's a conscious effort to do everything in this dimension, even being tethered in it. I will also give her the breath limitations. She's mastered these aspects of her powers by the time she reaches the school.

Powers I want to leave for development is that she could actually figure out on an advanced level, with practice, how to control her floating, not just by how high or low she is based on friction; but how to actually control directions, too, since 'floating' isn't really 'flying' if you can't go anywhere and you're floundering in one spot. Additionally, since breathing is something that usually has limits, I want to say she has greater lung capacity than most people, even for her small size (Since super-limited lung capacity would ruin the benefits of her power pretty badly), enough to actually rival perhaps a professional diver; however, her lungs won't be expanded to this limit, because she's never tried to stretch how long she's been in the dimension. The maximum time she could hold her breath would be based on that of the capability of regular humans, since it's possible for an impressive amount of time; there will be lots of passing out, though, from not enough oxygen, before she ever reaches the potential, she might never reach it, who knows?

Anyway, those are my ideas.
Yay! Alright, then, I'll make the character, and we'll just say she got into an argument where she threatened someone, which is why she's in the detention center. We could have it where she came from an area closer to Atticus and Codi's (Not the same town, though) so they could kind of tie her in by suddenly remembering a little transparent girl in an argument, since she might have been near them at the arrival.
Codi has the ability to chase people, but she would prefer to just wait for them to come to her. She's naturally made for defense.

I might also bring in a character that broke some rule that would warrant a day in the detention center, in order to explain why she was absent. I had the idea for a strategic character that has nothing powerful in regards to attacking, or even really defense, but strategically, it would be unwise to underestimate the power. The idea is a character that would basically be like a living ghost, she would have no heat signature or scent, and she would also be completely silent unless she wanted to make noise. The explanation is that she actually has the power to walk between dimensions, although rules of travel would still apply. You could take it a step further, and say that if she actively thought about it, she could become completely invisible, and become intangible, able to walk through walls and immune to physical touch, the down-side being she can't do anything while invisible. I also intend to make it where this character is ill-tempered, because this character will be like Henry in the sense that power manifestation replaced puberty, and therefore, she looks like a little girl when she's actually much older, and hates people messing up and treating her like a little child.

I was going to bring it up to get an opinion from Allen before I made a sheet that might get rejected.
Okay, then, beware the freaky urchin-thing, I'm guessing that Codi is about to go after Paige.
Atticus Fowler
Atticus had taken up a place away from the very center of the field, closer to its edge by a wall, where he had begun to patiently wait for someone to arrive near him; speculating on all the things he saw in the distance, as well as what he heard. He heard someone scream angrily at Team One, but though he normally considered himself more empathetic, he found it amusing that any person would be so melodramatic. He heard a girl crying that she didn’t want to keep up in the exercise, and felt a bit of sympathy; aware that being trapped in the dark with monsters hidden in it was scary. He then, however, heard the roar of a conquering adversary, and immediately recognized it as something marking victory. He felt the spines on his back twitch, and knew that two shapes were approaching him, seemingly from the wall towards his side.

Atticus didn’t have to change position to look at them, because of his vision’s scope, and so it was that he knew it was Jaska and the girl from earlier who also possessed fire powers, Ella. He inclined his head slightly, so as to let them know he saw them, “Jaska, what happened?” He asked, concern in his voice. He didn’t have the flag, which meant that roar he had heard just know…the panda guy, what was it, Tetsuya? The only other person who could roar like that would have been Henry. “Are you alright?” he asked, as he began to move along the wall with them, wary of anything that might approach. He would see foes long before they got near him. He got the impression Jaska had been stopped by a strong defense; just how powerful was this opponent, to release a roar like that?
I think I'm going to have Atticus see Jaska retreating, since charging in isn't his style.

As for Codi...well...is anyone close enough to Team One yet?
I am considered to be above the national average for females.
