Now I'm going to go make a list of how many characters are six feet tall or more...
Amanda has officially done the most comical thing I have ever read in this RP so far, although Sylvia made me burst out laughing, too. Team 2 is just having bad luck right now.
Atticus Fowler

Atticus was eager to begin in the match when it was decided that they would go along with the robotic-looking guy, Peter’s plan. Of all the things that could have won him over and made him like a person, few things would do it as quickly as suggesting an idea that put Atticus at an extreme advantage. It was doubtful that there was any animal-meta more suited for complete darkness than he was. While everyone stumbled around in the shadows, even perhaps those who could lay claim to having ‘night vision’ Atticus would have the most powerful vision of anyone else present. He didn’t see any windows in the arena, which meant that when the lights went out, all light would probably result from people who had the capability to produce it; although Atticus did allow the concern that someone would get in trouble, later, for putting out the lights, which might interfere with the faculty’s surveillance.

With the concept of the plan in mind, Atticus prepared himself to enter a world of what he presumed would be near-total darkness. The three-pronged hook-like lure, which had been previously folded up and out of the way on his head, extended out, and the black membranes within the lure folded back to reveal a blight blue-white light. The black membranes inside of other organs located just beneath his eyes also folded back, revealing an intense, and pure-red glow. All over his body, blue photophores lit up, small pinprick dots of blue-white light that he produced himself in special cells, unlike the areas on his face, which relied on bioluminescent bacteria. It was not that impressive with the lights still on, but in the darkness, it would be strange, and completely alien. Atticus intended to use his light-producing abilities, which were not useful as flashlights except to him, in order to toy with his enemies, if need be. He could put all the lights out in an instant.

When the match began, he realized that it would be the most extreme game (Though nobody seemed to treat it that way) that he had ever taken part in. A desert was starting to whip up around the scorpion guy, Valjean, presumably caused by his powers, which would probably turn into an actual sand-storm, and nobody would want to be in the middle of it. Atticus tilted his head a little bit at it, the yellow lenses on his eyes blinking. He also heard in the distance an extremely distasteful song, blasting out at full volume. It was awful, and Atticus could not help but wonder why someone would play it, when it was probably miserable for Team 2 to have to listen to it; unless it was a case where someone had just ignored whatever carefully-concocted plan the people had come up with. Atticus knew it was good for his team, but he couldn’t help but feel a bit of pity; it stinks getting betrayed, even though this is just a game.

Atticus decided that he would be one of the people ‘hiding in the gloom’ as Peter had put it. He had never gotten an opportunity to use his powers in such a strong degree of darkness. He wanted to see how well he would perform in the situation, even if it seemed like a few people were going crazy. In his own way, Atticus would go crazy, as he was surrendering to a strong desire to startle things when they couldn’t see him. He was pretty sure that on a certain level it was an instinct.

He was going to have fun with this.

Codi Bailey

Codi was confident in her capability to defend the flag, even if she didn’t know how well she would get along with other people doing the exact same thing. She knew Atticus wouldn’t stay behind to defend the flag with her if he was getting an opportunity to use his powers in pitch-black darkness. She didn’t mind, though, because she wanted her entire team to succeed in the match; not just her best friend. Codi could actually use the darkness to her advantage, if she got to the right position. Her idea was to turn her back towards the enemy’s side, Reef’s body concealing her own, and threatening anything that appeared. In darkness, even with all his bright coloration, nobody would see Reef, which meant they could realistically walk right into the giant parasitic urchin.

Codi anticipated that if someone walked into Reef, she could take control of the urchin with her thoughts, and force them right back to their side. She had the capability to do so. Codi wasn’t gifted speed-wise; she couldn’t sprint or run, but she could walk fast enough to keep up with most regular people. If Codi wanted to move quickly to overtake someone who was running, however, she had to do something else. Because she couldn’t run, she had to use Reef for locomotion in such cases, though it was nothing fancy or graceful. Reef’s six arms spanned out in all directions, and were each eight feet in length; they were strong enough to lift Codi and the parasite’s weight combined, and they could effectively move in the flailing, arm-slinging fashion of a brittle-star. In this manner of locomotion, Codi was far more maneuverable and offensive than her appearance led people to believe. She wasn’t intending to go on the offensive, still, because she was better as a living obstacle.

Codi did not want people to get hurt, but she was also not going to be naïve, and think that if lights went out and blinded the people watching the game, that the students would all behave. She had learned to never trust people to be completely honest; honest people were rare and few in number. There would probably be illegally inflicted injuries somewhere, some people looked like that was exactly what they wanted to do. Codi did not want to be one of the victims, and so it was that, despite the fact that she might feel concern if someone was stung by Reef, she wasn’t going to apologize if they actively tried to hurt her. If they tried to attack the human part of her with the intentions of causing harm, she wouldn’t resist the urge to scratch them, either; which would be the ultimate way of teaching people to be wary of her. This in mind, though, she wouldn’t do these things unless she was forced to.

These dark revelations taken into consideration, Codi nodded in agreement with Peter’s plan, “I can’t see in the dark, but that wouldn’t matter, if everyone else is blind, too. They could walk right into me, couldn’t they?” She looked over at the metal guy, Peter, and then at the other person he had mentioned would be on defense, Alex, “We can all probably have a lot of fun with this, if we position ourselves right.”

With this said, she proceeded to go wherever she was meant to be positioned.
I personally prefer it where stories have some sort of pseudo-science, or at least a framework of rules, to follow when someone gives their character power. It prevents a lot of issues from creeping up; and I know this because a lot of stories I used to participate in that involved magic resulted in a lot of confusion.

With this in mind, though, I came up with a Spatial/Cosmic-class (not sure which, probably Spatial) character, or rather, have one I can re-purpose for this story, whose power involves overturning certain laws of physics, as long as she physically touches something, even though her own physical endurance/strength is really no more impressive than a human's. I enjoyed the character, because there was cool stuff she could do, and I could get away with causing comical accidents when she messed up regarding her powers (No one else but her was harmed, of course), like cancelling out the friction of her shoes by accident. I don't know if she would be regarded as OP or not, though, because if she learned to use her powers, well, she would probably score pretty high on the power strength scale.
There can be meta-humans that have multiple power classes. Both of my characters actually fall under three different classes, although each of them have a power class that is particularly much stronger than the other two.

I'm currently trying to come up with ways to make them get stronger over time, since that's going to happen to almost all the characters. Atticus has powers that I already have ideas for, but I have multiple options for Codi. I could make Codi's bacteria or Reef's venom/ abilities more powerful, or I could abandon mutating the urchin and chemical aspect and give Codi (The human part of her) a new form she can switch into, although like Atticus, there would be a period where she couldn't change, unless her life was in immediate danger. I kind of like the second option more, since for the most part every time I have ever made a character whose powers incorporated lethal venom or toxin with no potential cure, people never fail to dodge or escape those attacks in some form or fashion (One time, a person even said that their character was hit by a claw, although the attack was actually lunging forward with venomous fangs). Those are my ideas, right now.

Does anyone have an opinion about the second idea? If I choose that one, I'll have to write a very long, detailed appearance, and I don't want to do that if I can't use it.
EDIT: Gah! The forum double-posted me!
I'm actually planning on waiting until the end of Capture The Flag to update the relationships of my characters. It's a good point to see what they think of people.
Uh, He Who Walks Behind, Atticus isn't in his human form right now, he's been in his creature form since his introduction.
Hey, people, don't forget my guys are participating in CTF as members of Team 1.
Atticus Fowler and Codi Bailey

Upon being placed on the same team, both Atticus and Codi were relieved. Codi did not want to be against her friend, because he was as fast as a galloping horse in his creature form, and therefore, one could not catch him unless he wanted them to. Atticus was glad that he did not have to find a way through Codi’s defenses; he knew that the seemingly benign tentacles on Reef’s body could lift ridiculous amounts, and send a person flying just as far. They were both pretty powerful, regarding animal-related abilities, although most of their powers were tactical, versus offensive. This wasn’t to say if they were attacking, they couldn’t be a formidable force.

When everyone began to devise a strategy, Atticus stepped up, feeling more comfortable with this situation than casual conversation or small-talk when there wasn’t a subject he could think of that would grab a person’s interest. “I can do either offensive or defensive, what I should do depends on you guys, I guess.” He said, looking at everyone with his strange, alien-looking eyes. “My eyes can detect things that are hidden, and I don’t have much of a blind spot in my vision. These spines on my back and arms make it where if even the smallest thing moves, I’ll pick it up. If we were about to get ambushed, or run into someone, I would probably know it before our attackers did.” He said, finally deciding to start relaxing, and talk more freely. He wasn’t boasting, however, but merely stating his powers at a glance.

Codi, gaining confidence, walked up to the group, also, “I don’t know how good I am at offense, but I think I’d be good at defending our base.” She said, as the arms of the creature on her back lowering down and forming a sort of protective cage around her body, dwarfing her, and making her look like a living tank of sorts. “I call this thing on my back Reef, because he’s actually not a part of me, although he’s fused into my back, and I can control him through my thoughts.” She explained, “If I got near the flag, people would have to get by me. Reef’s sting is highly venomous and painful, and if it’s just right, a blow from one of his arms could really harm someone. Even if they’re wearing armor, they couldn’t shake it off that easy.” Codi doubted she would be chosen for anything offensive, when her best ability was remaining still, and stinging whatever got too close; even then, she would rather deter people with the threat of being stung, rather than actually intending to hurt them. Luckily, most people recognized that if a colorful urchin looked like a blooming fire, it probably felt like fire, too.

Codi then remembered that only one member of the group knew her name or her friend’s, “Oh, sorry, we didn’t introduce ourselves. I’m Codi, and this is Atticus.” She added.
