@Darkmatter: Have you gone over my nation yet? It is missing piece's of information, but it is essentially done statistically. Additional information will be fluff added for flavour really. I have also thought up my first IC post and have already started writing it.

@Darmatter 2: We will also need an official map to make interactions between players more understandable.

@Darkmatter 3: There is still much interest, just we are waiting.
Note to everyone: My NS is pretty much done except for the few last tech descriptions on the techs that everyone already knows about, fluff info and some pictures for my land army. Statistically it is ready to play. Darkmatter mostly approves though will have a more in-depth analysis later.

I am making the Slaver Empire. A central race of AIs that was created by a long-died-out race with two commands: Defend the race, and defend their home system. Since the people died, they eliminated that command and decided that the best way to defend the home system was to conquer everything else.

Ah, a suspiciously similar foil and shadow archetype for the Sphere to fight for all eternity, wonderful.

@Darkmatter: I'll send you a PM to a private chat to set down in stone the human problem

I don't think I ever stated it was new, I was pretty much finding a way to up the amount of control the Goverment had over the Lance Union, and saw that and used it.

Apologies, I looked back again and realized it was "Not normal", but regardless my point still stands.

@Duck: Yes. The Sphere for example is Industrial primarily, followed by Military and Tech-Bureaucratic as its focuses. I assume you can have multiple so long as its not ridiculous (E.g: Focus: Everything)

Finished my NS, though I'm stuck as to how to make some sort of perpetual energy machine plausible. I'm not as good with this future science stuff as many of you seem to be.

Generally getting around the problem of the Second Law of Thermodynamics is pretty big. Its the greatest enemy of every mad scientist. If you need help, probably ask Terminal... He is the RP's resident crazed mad scientist/physicist/other stuff, I just have learning in economics and business management.

@Duck: On that note, the economic model you mentioned in your NS is not 'new' or irregular , it is essentially a form of Proto-Communism or Authoritarian Socialism, similar to what the early communist and socialist theorists advocated, and is quite well known.

@Wernher: I obviously accept the idea since I suggested it, but it depends on what most human-players think
It depends if you are in the general area of the Orion Spur and Pegasus Arm (AKA: "The Powderkeg Stars, named so due to the entire region being one big galactic war in the making)

or on the Scumtum-Centaurus Arm (AKA: Lonely Stars and Space Squid-Whales, named so due to the only other factions in the region are Newsun/Silux's leviathan race and ASTA's soon to be empire of ancient astronaut or former colony ship warped into wormhole and sent to other side of the galaxy, humans)
Alternatively you could pick a completely different arm, like the Outer Arm, Norma Arm or Sagittarius Arm
EDIT:
45 degrees South East

That puts you on the further out end of the Scumtum-Centaurus Arm, So you are too far away from me to have contacted you, more likely you have met Newsun and ASTA's people though
@Theo: You are aware of the theoretical expansion of the Graal-Federation War yes? If not, read Terminals explanation of various idea's about history.

Wait a minute. Wilson is claiming to live in the sol system. has anyone else notices this yet? We can't have two factions owning an empire from the same solar system.

I thought that too at first, but I figure Wilson just means a system in general and confused Sol as a generic name for a system rather than our Sun's other name.

In the event he DOES mean the actual Sol System then @Wilson: My factions capital is Sol.

Hey everybody. Talkings have been a thing done and now I'm going to put some of there here. Here's the approximate positions of a number of nations in the Galaxy:The Sphere, played by Serp, is centered around Sol at 27500 lightyears, 0 degrees (Galactic North.) 10000 lightyears directly South, also at zero degrees, is the Federation of Aurolia, played by Sigma. At approximately 22000 lightyears and at -10 degrees we have the Commonwealth, played by Darkspleen. These three nations form a sort of box where their corners meet, forming a central void nearly 10000 lightyears in width.Somewhere immediately to the East is the Graal hegemony. To the East of the Federation is the Hau, played by Monkeypants, which share a minor border contact with them. A long ways to the North are Isotope's Bug Broods - they share a minor corner-border contact with the Commonwealth, with a large void existing between them and the Hau to the South, as well as the Sphere to the East.A long ways off to the South and a little to the East are the Stoor. The collective region I have just described is perhaps 25000 lightyears in diameter at its widest point. For the sake of clarity, I shall refer to this region as 'The Sol Clusters,' since all the nations in the area sort of loop around and under the Sphere's territory. Here is the past 1000 years of history in the region as has been loosely agreed upon:1000 years ago, the Singularity Wars ended. The Sphere forms immediately around Sol, while humans fleeing from the area arrive at Auru and form the Aurolian Federation. A nation called the commonwealth, existing prior to the end of the Singularity Wars, occupies an area of space between them and off to the side, and may or may not have had any involvement in the war. Almost 800 years ago, the Stoor arrive on the scene from the South. They are presumed to make immediate contact with both the Graal Hegemony and the Federation. The Sphere continues to consolidate power in the local group of the Sol system.Approximately 500 years ago, the Commonwealth breaks out into a civil war. The Federation turns a blind eye to the entire affair, while the Stoor attempt to sell biological weapons and soldiers to both sides (these efforts are rebuffed by both parties). The Broods make contact with the Imperial faction of the Commonwealth, initial exchanges are largely peaceful. The Sphere expands and reinforces its power base, and by now has managed to plant Manchurian agents within the Federation. The civil war lasts for 400 years. Towards the end, the losing side grows desperate and purchases soldiers and weaponry from the Stoor - however, they still lose the war as of 100 years ago, and the Commonwealth is reuinited as a Monarchy. The Federation is somewhat dismayed by the outcome, while the Stoor are simply upset that the conflict was resolved. The Sphere has done nothing but slowly expanded and stretched out its influence during this time. Around the same time, the Hau make initial contact with the Aurolian Federation due to border expansion. The Sphere uses its Manchurian agents in order to instigate a diplomatic incident that ends badly between the two, serious enough to make the Hau angry but not want to invade. The Hau and Federation have retained a cool relationship since then, with a demilitarized zone existing between their borders.Approximately 60 years ago, according to plans made between Theo and other parties, there is a war between the Graal Hegemony and the Aurolian Federation. The Stoor join the war on the Hegemony's side, while the Commonwealth remains neutral (but supplies the Federations). The Hau stay off to the side and watch. Once the Sphere learns of the human casualties in the wars, they sweep down from the North and begin to launch internal strikes against the Hegemony.Approximately 10 years ago, the Graal war ends, somehow. Status of the Graal Hegemony is unknown, though it is generally accepted that every nation leaves the conflict intact. However, the Sphere requires a reason to have disengage from hostilities; absence of such would mean nonstop hostilities until the present day. Also, NewSun: We'd love to, but at 180 degrees, you are clear on the opposite side of the Galaxy. Even the Stoor, who would be closest to you, are far, far away. What does everyone think?

Please take this seriously everyone.
Well the Sphere has no idea who your (Silux) race is. Their slow and steady expansion followed by spamming FTL jammers everywhere over the course of 1000 years and ignoring everyone else has only recently been coming to an end with its involvement with foreign wars, Manchurian-Agent program and random appearances of Borg-cube style warships.

Actually, the Sphere doesn't really know about anyone beyond its immediate neighbors. It only just met the Graal (Which is pretty near by) 50 years ago... When it invaded it as retaliation for its invasion of human space.
