Yeah, Caz won't be taking it up ever. He'll probably be a good shoulder to cry on, or someone to confess to, ironically like a chaplain, but positions of leadership don't suit him well. Especially given that he's a hardcore alcoholic AND smoker.
So it seems like we got a Team Mum. Should be fun.
(Sent the GM a much larger sheet, since it'll be fun to keep some information away from other PCs.)
Name: Cassius ‘Caz’ Chaplain.
Age: Mid to late 50’s.
Gender: Male.
Appearance: He is a veritable giant, standing at 7’1, and a face to match his stature. A deep scar runs along the left side of his cheek, all the way down through his lip, parting it close to the middle. His dark amber eyes are usually glossed over, for reasons that he still keeps to himself. Black-grey hair cut close to his scalp as to not hinder his eyesight, according to him. He’s athletic like all NC pilots, though a bit more on the stocky side, even for his height. His actual body is criss-crossed with scars as well, though the only ones that are seen often are the ones along his forearms and elbows. Inquiries as to how he received those are dodged immediately.
Personality: --OMITTED--
--- He… appears to be a happy-go-lucky person at surface, however he has been observed to remain on his lonesome in bars, seeming to find comfort in drink. He’s quick to warm to, but… oddly keeps his distance himself. Attempts to coax an answer out of him have proven ineffective.
Backstory: --OMITTED--
--- Joined roughly six months ago, and has proven himself a reliable pilot, especially with the NC he mysteriously appeared in. Apart from that, his backstory is quite the mystery. Will attempt to inquire further, previous attempts have proven futile, though quitting isn’t in our vocabulary.
Tactical Preferences and Skills: He has expressed, and in fact, stressed, that he should be on the front-lines whenever he can, despite the overall frailty of his NC. He is fast on his feet, especially in his NC, and seems as though he prefers striking from the shadows, then remaining in the light to take any and all punishment thrown his way. Reckless, but he somehow remains alive. Will inquire why he does this more.
Notes: Very little is known about the Pilot, save his love for hard alcohol and strong cigars. The smell lingers on his body at almost all times, even after he cleans himself.
Everything you see, save for the giant cannons on the back.
Code-name: Unit Designation OC4, also go by “Oh-Cee” by Pilot Cassius.
Body Type: Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” is bipedal, as most humans can gather. Unit Designation "Oh-Cee" can partially hover at about 6 feet above ground level.
Type of NC: Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” is an Assault Class, though Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” does not have enough armour to stay in the fight for a prolonged period of time. Consider that when formulating plans involving Unit Designation “Oh-Cee”.
Equipment & Armaments: Ah, yes. This is what Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” ‘enjoys’ the most. Weapons:
Super-Heated Ion-charged ‘Bowie’ Combat Blade: A four-foot long combat blade that melts through armour ranked ‘light’ to ‘medium’ without effort, and damages ‘heavy’ armour. Bypasses most enemy shielding, however sufficiently strong shields will repel the combat blade completely, rendering it useless.
Dual DCI-8 Heavy Duty Repeating Shotgun: Two single-barrelled repeating shotguns, eight slugs each before requiring reload. Ammo capabilities include:
HE: For lightly armoured targets.
APBC: For armoured targets.
HEAT: For armoured slow targets.
APDS: For highly armoured targets.
APEMP: For targets with powerful shields.
Armaments:
Partial-Hover Capabilities: Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” may choose to hover instead of walk or run. Decreased acceleration, however hovering allows for more manoeuvrability. Useful in urban conditions.
Notes from Unit Designation “Oh-Cee”: Unit Designation “Oh-Cee” has minimal shielding and armour. Such a flaw leaves Pilot Cassius exposed more than other Pilots, however it also allows for more speed and manoeuvrability in combat. The trade off does not seem worth it, to Unit Designation “Oh-Cee”. Pilot Cassius’ life should take precedence over combat effectiveness. Pilot Cassisu cannot be combat effective when deceased.
Mk. VI Stealth Module: An upgraded stealth field, adapted from her previous module, only much superior. While still allowing for complete radar disruption, the module now turns the mech mostly invisible to the eye as well as next to every form of radar/sonar/a lot of other things. It has three modes currently; Passive: Just a radar disruption device, though nothing extreme. Makes it hard to pinpoint the exact location, which also means that missile locks take longer when in the passive mode, but are still overall possible. Active-Standing: A cloaking field that encompasses Oh-Cee's chassis and her weapons, resolving into a nigh-perfect representation of the terrain that lies behind her, making her all but transparent. While doing so, there is a jamming deadfield around her, which is the only way anybody would be able to figure out that she is there in general, though by then it's usually too late. Active-Moving: Like the above, however light distortion makes it slightly easier to spot her when moving, though generally she's moving too fast to see regardless.
It hadn't reacted any further after no response was given, which didn't trouble the Assassin one bit. It watched as the fight left the area the rest of the group was at. By now, the Assassin would have probably completed the job with less collateral damage. Regardless, it'd do the Assassin well to record the interaction between the entity that possessed the body and the other two women. As it went to follow up the building, a random person had pulled himself out of a garbage bin, and wandered over. "Interaction between an entity and two females. Outcome: Unkno-" The Assassin stopped as several numbers and letters flashed on its HUD, detailing a new hit, that was really close to its current position. An important target too, over twenty million credits for completion of the hit, one of the more rewarding ones, especially for a one-person hit.
Official from the Taidali Empire, name: Lenah Ki'Lenti, meeting in the 1st Quadrant of the Skyline District. Officialising a trade agreement between the Taidali Empire and the trade corporations of Ring City. You are to remove the Official before they complete signing, and you will be payed the twenty million credits after the job is complete.
Security personnel include:
A dozen trained Taidali soldiers, supposedly apart of the Royal Guard of the Empire. Threat Level: Low.
Two Taidali Defense Drones, both outfitted with state of the art tracking cannons. Threat Level: Low.
A single unknown entity. Classification unknown. Threat Level: Unknown. Treat with caution.
Upon completing the read, the Assassin stopped his conversation, and immediately started climbing the building. It needed a fast way of getting to the Skylight District, and it needed it soon.
HOURS LATER.
With a loud hum, the near silent hover-copter made its descent to the pad on the top of the Trade Corporations building, and touched down a couple seconds later. The large vehicle opened up, and its occupants exited. Over a dozen humanoid creatures, all of them standing between 5' and 6'5", with long tails protruding from the back of their attire, and long, digitigrade legs(like a cat or dog). Most of their faces were covered, however those that didn't sported gruff features, looking significantly sharper than a human, and seemed to have fur-like hair on the back of the head, whereas the faces themselves seemed smooth, almost as though they were moulded out of stone. Most of them were armed, of course, save three. Two pulled along a large container, and the last was a slightly shorter individual, wearing attire that looked almost like royalty. Two drones hovered behind the group, both sporting a single large silver cannon on their undersides, looking as threatening as the rest of the armed group. They moved their way towards the door to enter the building, and were met by the Trade Corporations own security detail, where they started verifying identification and other classified information. After a few slow minutes, the two groups shook hands, and made their way further inside the building, and began arrangements to complete the agreement.
The Official pulled aside a single soldier, and spoke to him in a hushed voice, in their own language. "I've been notified that a target has been placed on my head, step up security. The price is... significant. We need to finish this and leave, as soon as possible." "Will do ma'am, we'll cooperate with the TC's to figure out security, you won't be harmed, you have my word." "Make sure of it lieutenant... make sure of it..."
And with that, pair returned to the rest of the officials, and once again began talking formalities and toasting to 'new friends'.
The stay in Hell was... odd. It seemed normal, and yet the occupants of what looked to be a normal city were beyond normal. Horned individuals... fleshy, obscene looking dogs with maws filled with serrated teeth... even some praying mantis lookalike creatures that stalked the alleys, ready to pick off any demons that came too close...
But they all bled the same.
The Assassin tore through them. Each specie It could find fell beneath its blade. Each had its own weakness, and the Assassin found each and every one of them. The praying mantis, for example, had a vulnerable abdomen. One cut, and its guts spilled out, leaving it open to basically any follow-up attack. It also found out that it had hard-to-cut chitin on its neck and chest, which almost surprised the Assassin.
Almost.
The Assassin cut a swathe through Hell, but all with intent. With every kill, it marked down new information it may have gathered from the encounter, as well as multiple blood samples, parts of tissue, and whatever looked of interest on the dead demon's body. Each different type of demon, along with the respective blood and tissue sample, was listed under a different entry in It's suits' bestiary. For almost two days, the Assassin studied the demons very closely. Making notes about whether or not they could feel pain, emotion, or even speak. Most of them could, so at least 70% were sapient, though all of them seemed sentient. In the two days the Assassin was active in Hell, already there were rumours being spread about a terror among terrors... almost on the tier of Doom Guy... almost. Soon, the demons started travelling in groups, some even foregoing age old feuds to band together for safety, though that didn't matter in the long run. Numbers didn't matter with the Assassin. It killed what It wanted, for the reasons It wanted... The women and the children too...
And then as quick as it had started, the Assassin was back on the train. The individuals it had come with all there as well, save one, as well as a new face, which the Assassin assumed was the missing one, but with a makeover. It remained silent throughout the ride, but it didn't bother to cloak. They had already seen it, cloaking again would drain much-needed energy reserves. Again, as quick as they arrived, the train came to a stop in an alley with an... almost odd looking girl in it. The Assassin had seen too much to call her odd, but she wasn't human, at the very least. It was about to leave without another word, before the blonde girl exclaimed and writhed in pain. At first it didn't pay much attention, but then it said something that... caught It's interest.
"I should introduce myself, my name is Ver'Tiel, your friend here is quite the specimen."
The Assassin barely reacted, it just simply tilted Its head in amusement, watching even as she turned into something else. Again, unfazed by the transformation. The blades slowly came out, as It turned It's head towards Shina, the person who seemed closest to the former girl.
"Pay me and I will make it suitable for exorcism." It asked bluntly, not willing to make a move until It got the okay from Shina, as well as assurance that there will be money involved.
It was halfway through scaling up a building in plain sight(cloak op), when It was... teleported to a subway train. Now, this wasn't the first time it had been abruptly teleported, and was the only time It'd seen it done to multiple people at once, seeing as though there were at least another eight people who seemed just as surprised and pissed off from the sudden teleportation, but that certainly didn't stop It from observing this "Death" from speaking. This one seemed different from this iteration of Death... more powerful, perhaps?
Regardless, It watched Death once again walk off, explaining something about being in Hell. So much for lightning never striking twice... slowly but surely, it came out of its cloak, not really worried that the group would be a threat, since they mostly looked like kids, and general thugs. Nothing It hasn't dealt with before. They spoke amongst each other, though it didn't care.
"..." It made a slight sound to announce it's presence, before making its way towards them out of the train, crushing the phone It was given as it went. "Name, designation, and purpose?" It asked... basically everyone. The blades on its wrist coming out, deliberately slowed, as to try to at least scare some of them into information. It could use the truth serum, but that would require cutting someone, and that required effort.
The doors to the shop swung open and... nothing walked in. This left the shopkeep both stunned, and confused, before standing up and moving to close the door, though something caught his eye while he was in the act of doing so. A displacement of light? Must just be his imagination playing up, he thought. He closed the door, turned to return to his seat where he was, before being interrupted by the shutters to his store closing... again on their own. He stood up again, this time reaching under the counter for his very own weapon: A new, gleaming shotgun. He didn't even get to aim it before it was yanked out of his hands, by... the displacement of light. It's form rippled, and standing before him was the jet black for of something out of his nightmares...
"I... please don't kill me! I'll give you all the money, anything!" He cried the words as his bladder relieved itself. His heart rate increased, and immediately he was sweating profusely.
"Miniature Fusion Reactor." The voice that came from the horror was... course. As if it was pained to speak out loud. It moved its free hand behind its back, and pulled out a small cylinder, though rusted and worn. It had a very faint orange glow to it, though it seemed as though it was dying, that much the shop-keep could tell. "This. New."
"I-I sold it! Couple days ago! M-man left the city right afte-!" The man's pleading voice was cut short as a small and sharp blade cleanly sliced his throat, sending a spurt of blood on both the assassin and the counter. As the assassin took a step back, the man fell backwards, letting out one final gurgle of sound escape before expiring.
"..." The assassin wiped off what little blood was on its small wristblade, then retracted it back into its wrist, before re-acquiring the reactor it had pulled from its back, re-inserting it, and changing the sign on the door to say 'closed' instead of 'open', leaving the shutters closed. Guess It had to find another way of getting a Fusion Reactor... The assassin wasn't the happiest at the moment, and ignored the civilians who recoiled at the sight of fresh blood on the suit. A couple even ran off to call for authorities... as if that would do anything. With a hiss of servos, the suit turned and walked off back towards the main food hall, since that was close to the next location that may or may not sell a Fusion Reactor.
The bustling centre was not the right place for it. It watched from the shadows, Its form engulfed in them, making it next to impossible to see. With a small turn of its head, it had completed surveying whatever was in sight, and finished mapping out the superstore. A multilevel diagram of the store popped in in the corner of It's HUD, marking out potential targets and locations for It to visit. It sighed, which to anyone else, would have sounded like gears starting up in a car of old. It dropped down from its perch, about twenty metres up, and landed on Its feet, but without a sound. This of course alerted a couple of nearby shoppers, who saw the Thing drop seemingly from nowhere, and they jumped back in fright. It stood up straight, glanced in the shoppers direction, and they made haste in the opposite direction. Another intake of breath, this time seemingly in amusement. And then, as quickly as it had appeared, it disappeared again. Its form rippling, then seemingly fading into the tide of new shoppers. Unbeknownst to all, it was making its way to the nearest target displayed on a map. A small weapons store. Something that might be selling what It wanted.
Alias: Demon, Killer, Dread, Monster, Death... something along the lines of that...
Age:REDACTED
Gender:REDACTED
Species:REDACTED
Appearance: Unknown out of the suit, in the suit, about 6’ flat, weighing about 200 pounds.
Personality: You know all the teen angst you see in the world? Yeah. That. Dial it up a few notches, and you’re set. Is also a sociopath. Shuns contact outside of killing, though will do it if it needs to… buy something. Like a fusion reactor. Hint.
Power:
Enhanced Stealth and Speed Assassination Suit: It’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a ‘nanosuit’ that the user has to more or less plug themselves into before they use it, as the suit itself is very unresponsive to actual physical force, which is a fault of the suit, not an actual feature. The suit itself moves via nervous interaction, the person only needs think to move, and the suit moves in tandem (think almost every powersuit in almost every game. You move your arm to the left, suit moves its arm to the left with no delay). The suit itself has very little damage protection, it’s more or less an entire suit of kevlar(a almost bulletproof suit, more or less), so it’ll only mitigate small arms fire, but higher calibre fire will penetrate and go into the person underneath. The suit enables the user to well surpass the normal speed capabilities of regular humans, able to reach speeds of upwards of 40kmh, though moving at that speed for more than thirty seconds at a time will either take a terrible toll on the person underneath, or in very extreme cases, kill them.
CHAMELEON Stealth Module: A module that shapes light around the wearer’s body(including almost anything directly attached to the suit, like ammo pouches, weapons, modules), giving off the illusion of invisibility. Think of the Predator’s Cloaking technology, only less limited by rain. Instead of disabling the cloak like what happens with the Predator technology, rain just bounces off the wearer, and despite that making them terribly easier to see, it doesn’t turn off the cloak. It also makes them next to invisible to most forms of scanning, however it gives off very slight readings of heat, though incredibly small amounts. As time goes on, however, the suit heats up when stealthed, which both makes it incredibly uncomfortable for the wearer, and make him much easier to see on scanners since he gives off a lot more heat than normal. It usually takes ten minutes for the heat readings to be the same as a normal human’s
Adrenal Nanobots: Nanobots that can be released into the wearers bloodstream. This is used to dull pain, make it so that the wearer doesn’t tire as easily, and slightly heighten their senses for a period of time. This is actually incredibly dangerous for the wearer, as it increases their heart rate beyond normal parameters, and with overuse, can cause the wearer to suffer a heart attack. ‘Coming down’ from the adrenaline takes a lot more time as well. Generally three times as long as the period of time the nanobots were working.
Internal Shock Releasers: Suit defibrillates the wearer in case they pass out, or give them a minor zap to prevent them from passing out. These can also be set as a failsafe in case the wearer is compromised, where the suit will fire lethal amounts of electricity into the wearer, killing them near instantly. This has never been used in that way, however.
HERU + Helmet: Hazardous Environment Respirator Unit. A rebreather unit attached to the helmet of the suit that allows the wearer to breath in previously dangerous environments, such as anywhere with radiation, toxic swamps, ash ridden mountain-sides, you name it, the suit can probably survive there. This does not apply to Oxygenless places. The mask itself is mostly built out of the same material as the rest of the suit, except the visor. It’s made of two thin, lightweight forms of glass that are quite possibly the hardest parts of the entire suit. The first layer is self-repairing, so if it gets hit by a stray bullet, it could possibly break, yet the secondary layer will remain completely fine. After a downtime of two hours, the visor will look completely new, due to a layer of nanobiotic ‘glue’ in between the two layers of glass. Although rarely used, one assassin has used the first layer of glass breaking as a way of faking his own death, then slaying his would-be killers as they came to see his body. The mask has its own HUD(Heads-up Display), meaning that even if the first layer is broken, the wearer would still be able to see perfectly fine, due to small, almost microscopic cameras on the outside of the helmet. The HUD can be turned off in case of an EMP attack.
N7 Techblades: One blade attached on each wrist. Each blade is only five inches long, and about two wide, being used only as a last resort in most cases. The blade edges constantly coat themselves in a very slow acting neurotoxin, that the assassin chooses.The toxins can vary, depending on the situation, but the suit has enough storage for four different types of toxins, the most common being;
Lethality: A toxin that is almost molten once it makes contact with at least 89% of the known universes blood. A hyper-reactive substance stored in an almost impenetrable vial located on the inside of the suits wrist, it is lethal to 89% of the universe, and as such, there is not a lot of it in existence, with the suit itself only having two small vials, enough to make at most 6 cuts. Irrationality: A neurotoxin that floods the victims bloodstream with a violent hallucinogen, causing them to see their deepest, darkest and most horrifying fears. Though the effect is short lived, the toxin stays in the victims bloodstream, slowly penetrating deeper until it reaches the brain, where it will plant a subliminal message telling the persons body that he’s seeing the images once again, where it won’t stop unless the person gets medical attention. Paralysis: A paralytic poison that slowly stops the victims organs from functioning. Renegade: A truth serum. Forces the victim to tell only the truth. Used as interrogation. So far has a 99.99904% success rate.
IHPAI Defense Protocol: Internal Hacking Protection Artificial Intelligence. A almost constantly dormant ‘dumb’ AI programmed into the suits main power source. It only turns on whenever the suit is under a cyber attack, where something wishes to either deactivate the suit from the outside, or possibly interact with the suit with a virus. The AI turns on and practically Firewalls the outside programs, making it next to impossible to hack. The AI itself doesn’t interact with the wearer of the suit, nor can it do anything else but defend against cyber attacks and activate the other protocol programmed into the suit.
Mimic Modulator: Attached to the helmet, the module allows the wearer to change their voice to something else, either changing the tone and how deep their own voice is, to completely mimicking another voice they heard and recorded from another time. It can store up to seven voices, and only needs an hour to completely alter the wearer’s voice to perfectly suit the recorded one.
Bi-universal Translator: A built-in translator in the mask. It allows the wearer to understand any documented language in the universe as if it was heard in its best understood dialect. This doesn’t make them able to speak back in the same language, however.
47b Pack: Located on the suits back, the 47b Pack is more or less a booster jet, capable of propelling the wearer up into the air Each activation of the suit can propel the wearer up to twenty metres up in the air. It can burst up to five times in quick succession, then it must ‘recharge’ for an hour, however, due to overheating of the Pack. It gives off ridiculous amounts of heat, capable of melting steel beams. Heat is released from a discharge vent on the back of the booster pack, and has been known to kill innocent bystanders who are behind the suit.
TR4 Wrist Launcher: Located on the left wrist of the suit, this small slit is used to fire one of two small needles up to fifty metres away. The first needle is almost undetectable by the natural eye, though scanners will easily pick it up. It’s an informative needle, basically a GPS. The information sent by the needle is then displayed on the helmets visor’s HUD, for ease of access. The second needle is a poisonous one, with a small dose of one of the four toxins the suit has. The Wrist Launcher also has a built in grapple, which the wearer can fire, and so long as the grapple itself is secure, the wearer can pull himself along it manually, or activate his wrist launcher again for a speedy escape.
MSA Module: Magnetic Surface Attachment Module. Boot and gloves that attach to nearly every surface, both organic and otherwise. They mitigate sound almost completely, making this an extremely useful tool for stealth missions.
Compromisation Protocol: Should the wearer of the suit die, the ‘dumb’ AI inside the suit activates the protocol, and it literally lights itself on fire from the inside out to destroy the body of the wearer, then detonates the miniature reactor inside the suit, destroying everything in a two kilometre radius.
F/S Mini-Reactor: Fusion/Solar Mini-Reactor. It’s just that. This is what powers the entire suit, about the size of a baseball located at the lower back of the suit. During the night, the reactor operates on solar energy stored during the day, and during the day, it also uses the solar part, the fusion part of it being a last resort, as a major power boost.
Solar: The entire suit is used as a solar panel. It can store up to three days of power at once, after that limit is exceeded, the suit stops being a solar panel until it drops below the limit, where it turns on once again. Fusion: Literally a mini-fusion reactor. It effectively combines two atoms to make another element(two hydrogen becoming one helium), then contains all of that energy released in a amazingly strong containment box. Effectively, the entire procedure can fully power the suit for upwards twelve months without a change of reactor, though much longer if the suit isn’t used to its maximum abilities. The suit does not have any spare miniature fusion reactors laying around, so it needs to be carefully rationed, should the suit be trapped somewhere.
TL;DR Super suit with a bunch of functions. Can make the wearer go super fast, super sneaky, etc. Has a cloaking device, something that pumps adrenaline in them, defibs, blades with super poisons, bulletproof visor, HUD, a Anti-Hack AI, fusion reactor that can make a big suicidal boom, solar powered everything, mag boots, grappling hook, because yes, limited use jetpack, a translator, aaaaaand I think that’s everything.
Likes: Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows. Murder. Money. Being a sneaky ninja,
Ayyyy, aight, I'll shove it in Characters tab and see if I can get an entry post out, but I'm slightly busy, so sorry if I can't in the next couple hours or so.
